Blaze Exclusive: Epic, Never-Before-Seen Trailer From Kirk Cameron‘s ’Monumental’ Documentary

Actor Kirk Cameron‘s “Monumental” documentary aims to explore American history and contemporary society, while helping citizens recapture the country’s “national treasure” (you can read more about the film here). And now, The Blaze has an exclusive, never-before-seen trailer that provides a unique look at what viewers will experience through this thought-provoking film.

The clip’s cryptic — yet invigorating — music accompanies video of money burning, tombstones and quick-flashes of gripping imagery streaming across the screen as Cameron provides a brief narration.
“Everybody‘s telling me the world’s going to hell. Really? Because I have kids in this world — and I want a great future for them,” Cameron says in the 30-second trailer. ”And are we just supposed to let it go?”

Another clip provides even more background on the film, with Cameron explaining “something is sick in the soul of our country:”
In recent weeks, the actor has shared his worries about the world’s direction — a theme his film tackles in detail. Below, hear him discuss the collapse he sees happening “morally, spiritually and politically” in America:

We do need to go back to our roots and what our Founders intended. It has only since we have drifted away from those principles in the last 50 years that we have begun the decline. We may still be making strides in a few areas, but if we lose our soul we have lost it all.

Now was the decline caused by giving rights to blacks and women as you seem to be alluding to? Absolutely not.
However, the WAY they were given was the problem. They were given along with the give away programs which started our decline into the socialist nanny state we have now become.

In a nation in which 75% of us claim to be Christians, are we creating a Christian character for our nation, or one that will result in God’s abandonment wrath? What sort of nation will we leave for our children tomorrow? Our every choice and action today, or lack thereof, is building the foundation for tomorrow. What sort of tomorrow will it be? Is it a tomorrow that we would even want for our selves, let alone our children?
We have the responsibility of creating tomorrow simply because we exist. There is no escaping it and no way out. We can rise to it or we can shirk it and, by default, leave a world of chaos and hate in our apathetic wake.
The choice is a simple one: to stand with Jesus or to stand alone and fall. Just know one thing, if you do choose to go it alone, or if you choose Jesus and only do it as a half-measure, as a DMV Christian, your failure will echo through the following generations and you will drag many down with you, strangers, friends, your children. He actively participated in distributing copies of Darwin’s Theory of Evolution with chapters omitted, and with a creationist preface. He starred in a B movie about people being ‘raptured’ and the Anti-Christ taking over the world through the UN.
I actually would love to see this movie, because I love the apocalyptic/demonic genre in science fiction. I don’t love it presented as some sort of serious truth.

It has been the end times since the new testament was written. We have lost the art of prayer and intercession. I only know that whatever happens, I will be on God’s side, fighting for light and love, even if the rest of the world turns to darkness and death. I am not at peace with it. I am scared…but I will use the rules of the Sermon on the Mount. Maybe I can find peace, but either way, I will not give up my faith. I keep remembering the thing about being a light on the hill, and I wonder if just living like Christ is enough to help others find their way. Praying everyday for answers.

He said that universities have become bastions of liberal ideology and that religion is frowned upon by many professors. I commented on that news stream as well, relating my own experiences as someone who returned to college in my forties and witnessed, first hand, what Santorum was commenting on. Regardless, You answered my comments with a sarcastic comment. No surprise there.

They have tried to kill religion and freedom for a very long time. As long as people still believe, they can not win. So they put us in bondage for a while then fight over who gets to be in control. They will destroy each other and we will be free again. We need to remember how to be free, and keep our hearts set on it, no matter the odds. If we really showed the true spirit of loving your neighbor and caring for others, using kindness instead of rage to combat the many confused out there, we could still win, but it would be one heart at a time. Just like every Faith was ever spread. We are loosing our freedom because we have lost our faith. Just bring it back…..all of us into our own hearts, and then share it with love with everyone out there confused and searching for happiness. I know this may confuse some, but love is really more powerful than any force on Earth. It really works.

In other words, he’s what they used to call a Southern Democratic, from back when the south was traditionally democratic because Lincoln was a republican. He looks like a libertarian because he is a consistent, vociferous defender of limiting the role of the federal government in the lives of citizens. But most things he says the federal government cannot do he is perfectly happy to let the state government do. In other words, he believes in liberty in relation to the federal government but not in relation to the state government. State governments can impose themselves at will on citizens’ lives, limited only by the bounderies of their own constitutions and the very limited restrictions imposed on these by a “strict constructionist” reading of the federal constitution.
One of Ron Paul’s closest allies in Congress was Larry McDonald. Larry McDonald was a Southern Democrat.

I have also noted that Paul’s past comments and affiliations are considered history, yet you folks repeatedly bring up the past activities and comments of the other Republican candidates.
What gives? Don’t do as I do, do as I say?
I have respect for Ron Paul. He has some cogent points about fiscal policy but, as the campaign has progressed, I have noted that he is exhibiting behaviors similar to his supporters on the internet: rude, obnoxious, sarcastic, condescending. He, and you, have the right to act that way, but it detracts from whatever high ground you claim you hold in this process.
