Blaze Video of Rep. Ellison Bashing Bachmann Triggers Widespread Discussion

On Monday, The Blaze was the first to notice some bold, brash, and blatantly untrue comments made by Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) about fellow Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. According to him, Bachmann is “offended” by strong, powerful women, and would rather women be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.

Here’s the original video we brought you early Monday morning:

Those are striking comments. As such, they’ve stirred up quite the discussion.

For example, Gretchen Carlson had some strong words for Ellison on Tuesday’s “Fox and Friends.”

“That is offensive,” she said. “How dare you say that about any woman. You don’t know what she wants. You don‘t know that she thinks it’s okay to be back in the kitchen pregnant. Are you kidding me?”

Coincidentally, (and as we point out on the blog) the segment with Carlson’s comments was captured by the left-wing website, Media Matters:

The comments were also a hot topic among the panelists on Fox’s new show, “The Five.” Andrea Tantaros said Ellison doesn’t have a “leg to stand on” considering Bachmann’s education. Still, liberal Bob Boeckel showed an old video of Bachmann saying that wives must submit to their husbands, and used it to somewhat support Ellison’s claim:

Other outlets took notice, too, including Sean Hannity. He played the remarks on his show Tuesday night, but then invited Bachmann on the show to respond.

What did she say?

“When you’re running for the presidency of the United States, you got to expect that you’re going to have attacks by all sides,” she said. “But my focus has not been on negativity because that’s not what people are talking about. My focus has been on accomplishments and how we can turn the economy around and create jobs again. That’s what people are talking to me about … .”

As my mom would say, like water off a duck’s back.

Or, as Rep. Ellison would say, just another example of a weak woman.

If women choose to submit to their husbands, it’s THEIR choice. Where does he get off saying women should conform to his cookie-cutter (Islamic)vision of what women should be?

If the statement is factually correct, why is it racist? The point is, today’s modern culture gives not a fig about providing intact families for the wellbeing of children, and this is especially true in today’s black community where children are routinely born to single mothers with no father to raise them. Any psychologist worth his salt will tell you that children fare better in every way in intact homes with a father and a mother. So if blacks are more guilty than others of failing to do this, why is it racist to state that fact?

Are you saying that there is not a huge problem in the black community of producing prodigious numbers of single mothers, more so than other races in America? If so, you need to go back and read up on the topic. All races in America are producing way too many single mothers, but blacks outnumber them. I abhor racial bias based on nothing but bigotry, but these are facts based on what is happening in the real world.

Politicians become afraid when they start getting called names that are very damaging. Liberals have noticed this reaction and call anyone conservative “RACIST” anytime they say something. It is sickening and you are playing right into it, or worse are knowingly participating.

Ellison has received financial and other help from executives at CAIR, which has deep connections to supporters of Islamic terrorism. Also among those who have contributed money to the candidate are an official from a group that participated in a “tribute” to the Iranian despot Ayatollah Khomenei and leaders of what is considered the political front in the U.S. for the Muslim Brotherhood.

There is a huge difference regarding attitudes toward Muslim and Christian beliefs regarding women. If you are a Muslim and you speak out regarding a woman’s place, it is no big deal because it is expected. On the other hand if you are a Christian, you will be attacked immediately with labels of woman-hating misogynist. Why is this? I think that it may be due to the fact that so-called “Christian” women believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, but not His literal word. If your beliefs do not align with this new “intellectually inspired” (read: I am a modern woman or man and know better than God what He meant) interpretation, then you are a backwards regressive knuckle-dragging neanderthal misogynist.

I call‘em like I see’em. I will not second guess the Word of God and will not temper my statements. I am sure many women AND men that read The Blaze regularly will probably disagree with me and “not be my friend no more”. I have lost many friends in the past when they found out that I am a Christian with a BIG C. They could tolerate anything but that. I never spoke of my beliefs unless asked and lately, I have been asked about my position on abortion and other hot-button issues. When I stated my position and they want to know why, I tell them. In many cases it is too much for them to tolerate. And these are supposed Christians! My plan is to follow the Word in action so they will know without asking that I am a Christian.

With him, it’s more like “raped, beaten, not allowed out of the house and wearing a burkah.” He and his Muslim buds see Bachmnn as the supreme threat to their manhood and their Shari’a-based hate religion, where women are equal to half a man.

Shows how permissive we are, allowing a man with a faith like this to actually be a part of U.S. government body. I’d rather have Elmer Fudd in Congress – this man is a disgrace to this country. And that’s the way our Muslim-in-hiding president likes it.

There is nothing wrong with being a woman.
There is nothing wrong with being barefoot.
There is nothing wrong with being pregnant.
There is nothing wrong with being in the kitchen.

If a woman chooses the path above, God bless her. If a woman chooses the path of working, education, etc. God bless her.

As for submissiveness to the husband. Per my faith, belief in Jesus Christ and the Word of God, a woman should submit to the husband and the man should submit his love to that one woman. Marriage, when contracted thru God, makes two become one with the man responsible, the head. The Bible is very clear on this matter.

This does not mean a woman is the mans like some ignorant perverted religions teach. The submissiveness is the guardrails defined by God on how a fruitful prosperous marriage is to work.

Woman of the USA, Rep Ellison needs to hear from you. Please let Rep Ellison know being in the Kitchen, barefoot, pregnant, and a woman is not a bad thing. Please let Ellison know Women choose the path of her life in accordance with her husband for the best of the family.

Men of the USA, Rep Ellison needs to hear from you. Please let Rep Ellison know woman is a GIFT, TREASURE, from God to Man. Man is to respect woman, treasure woman, and love woman as such. Let us make Rep Ellison aware of this.

Okie from Muskogee: Beautiful post; however, as articulate and accurate as you may be our Society has been entirely poisioned through the Jewish controlled Media into thinking that woman is only truely free and liberated when she is following their Marxist ideology. As repugnant as this notion is to most educated and informed Christians, the fact is after 50 years of deception this notion not the Bible’s truth is probably far more prevalent in society today. Especially among those under 40!

I’ve said it over and over but one more time… We have a cancer and unless it is removed and removed soon we can expect a Revolution like the notorious one in France. The writing is on the Wall. Too many Christians in America are counting on Jesus to bail them out when it gets to that point… but so too were many that came before us.

Okie, how dare you support the regressive attitudes that enslaved women? When Eve bit the apple, she incurred God’s wrath and it has taken until recently to prove that women know better than God. How dare anyone tell a women she can‘t rip her baby out of her womb in tiny pieces as it is her body and not God’s. It’s this false agenda of feminist equality that begins in our public schools to indoctrinate our children and it has been happening for decades. Now these hens have come home to roost and demand that the rooster lay eggs himself if he wants a family.

Submit to your husband is a command from God, not Michele Bachmann yet she is held accountable for her beliefs. As we all know, being a Christian that follows the Word of God is not cool and will get you labeled as a threat to progressive society. I took my wife to a corporate social event and the other executive wives asked her “so what do you do for a living?“ When she answered ”I am raising my family“ the response was basically ”oh, that’s nice” and they gaggle quickly moved on to compare there career accomplishments out of earshot of my wife and did not talk to her the rest of the evening and have since avoided her like the plague at other events.

A woman’s highly honored and valued place in life and the family is the elephant in the room that we cannot talk about without being labeled a sexist misogynist.

      @Tech

Too bad no one had enough courage to confront Ellison on how Islam treats women VS the Christian faith. I also agree since the progressive movement began, early 1900′s, the USA has become less prosperous and now today we see the fruit of those evil seeds the USA sowed. This also debunks the USA being “blessed” collectively by establishing Israel for it is the same time period of the Progressive movement. (1917, 1948)
Have you connected the dots yet? Club of Rome has the same agenda as Marxism. Club of Rome begin agendas found in buildaberg, the UN, and progressive movements. The Club of Rome is the political arm of the Catholic Church. Remember, Vatican is both Church and State. Stay safe.

      @Melvin
When I began reading your post the hair began standing up on the back of my neck, then I realized you were joshing.

Women are a true blessing from God. They are to be cherished and treated as queens by men. If a woman can not submit herself to God, she surely will not submit to a man. Woman has been taught child rearing as bad thing when in fact it is one of the most important duties of life. I can not imagine life without the blessing of God’s gift Woman. Men should stand in truth and tell woman the blessing she is from God. Man has failed in leadership in this aspect.

Hope both your days are good.
