‘Blood-Curdling Scream’ Brings Mother to Aid of Toddler Being Squeezed by Python

Just a few days after we reported a 13-foot Burmese python shocked a Florida family when they found it curled up in their pool, comes a story making that seem like routine pest control.
The Daily Mail reports that the mother of a 2-year-old-boy from Australia heard a “blood-curdling scream” and ran to a backyard garden where she found her son wrapped up by a python. The Daily Mail states that the snake had wrapped its entire body around the boy and the mother, who was not identified, initially couldn’t remove it because of its strength:
“The snake was biting his leg and was wrapped around his whole body, to his chest. It started constricting.
“The attack happened very quickly and it was very scary.”
The Australian reports that the boy was first taken to the Mossman Hospital in north Queensland and, fortunately, was released without serious injury aside from the bite marks on Tuesday. At the hospital, it was determined that the snake was non-venomous so doctors did not need to use an anti-venom kit on the boy. Pythons are constrictors that suffocate or crush prey. The boy was transferred to Cairns Base Hospital for 24 hours of observation in case of infection but was then released, according to Sky News.
The Daily Mail goes on to report Rod Gilbert, a local veterinarian, as saying that it is unusual that the snake attacked a child but notes that “a two-year-old boy is not much different from a wallaby” in terms of size. In north Queensland, pythons can grow up to 20 feet.
The mother had sent her son to play when the incident happened. She was helped by neighbors who heard her screams to remove the snake, the Daily Mail reports.

Posted on December 30, 2011 at 4:10pmHEY *******, we don’t live in an area rife with 15 foot long pythons you idiot. As it is I my daughter is only allowed on our street, with permission and knowing where she will be. She is to call if she goes in a friends house and we usually are out front watching or in the front room where we can see her down the road. Perfect, no such thing, paranoid…absolutely……but we would not just send jr. out to play in the snake pit either. Are you really that dense. Especially a two year old. WHen my kids were that age they were never out of my sight unless with mom or grandparents. We didn’t even allow babysitters. Now, it seems that a level of parenting such as that offends you for some reason. Kiss my ass moron. I have a 22 year old and a 7 year old who are healthy, happy and I’ll never be one of the brain dead idiots on tv saying “please bring my baby home” or “I don’t understand how the giant snake managed to eat my kid”. It’s like this…..at a hotel one time a couple years ago I took my daughter to the swimming pool at her request. I sat attentively watching the kids play with particular attention to mine. At the other end of the pool several moms were reading, talking on phones, chatting, etc. while a toddler of theirs was busy drowning. I noticed him go under and struggle and jumped in to save him. Had him out of the pool before his idiot mother knew he was in trouble. That’s the difference you raving oxygen bandit.

Posted on December 30, 2011 at 10:40pmwhat sapper fails to realize is 80 years ago when parents were to busy toiling in the fields to obsessively watch over their childrens every breath, those kids grew up to be god fearing family oriented respectable human beings who loved their country. 50 years ago to present we have parents who tell the watch over the kids hold their hands wipe for them and tell them they are a winner no matter what and the result of that type of parenting is mindless idiots who crap in public parks demanding jobs they didn‘t earn money they didn’t work for and loans forgiven they promised to pay for…its like this I got attacked by a large dog when I was four (while playing outside unsupervised). My dad tells me a week later I beet that dog to a pulp with a metal bar. What I learned from my parents is you have to rely on yourself first. I thank god they allowed me to figure the world out for myself with guiding nudges from them just like I do for my children. I guarantee non of my kids will ever be victims. I know I never have been, even when attacked by a big dog (not a victim of a dog attack just a guy with a reason to beat a bad dog senseless).

Posted on December 30, 2011 at 9:23amThere are dangerous things everywhere, even inside homes (spiders), Moms and Dads usually make sure an area is ok before turning kids loose to explore, and all the Moms I know have that “scarey at times” Mom-sense, as well as do what I called “radar sweeps” to make sure everything is ok. Childrean (babies, too) learn be exploring their world. Moms almost have a timer in their heads, and make checks on their kids so automatic, that it’s like part of breathing.

Humans are just another piece of meat to these predators, and the so-called “experts” consistently try to mitigate every attack on humans as being “unusual,‘ for the purpose of snowing people into believing they’re really in no danger of these killers.
There have been numerous accounts of these constrictors killing children just in this country by so-called “pets” that have gotten free. In one case a python wrapped itself around a baby in a crib, biting it repeatedly in the head until until it was literally covered in blood. The baby was killed.
When it was found the nutcase who had the killer snake as a “pet” went berserk and stabbed it numerous times, then shot it. He should never had had the vicious, disgusting thing to begin with. His baby paid for his foolishness with its life.
Florida Fish and Game reports there are about 100,000 constrictors in the Everglades now, the result of nutcases who turned the killers loose, because they got too big. The law banning them is being strongly opposed by snake enthusiast nutcases and pet shops.
Nothing will be done, as always, until there are mass killings of people. Alligators are choking the waterways as well.

Posted on December 30, 2011 at 11:11amLife has been dangerous since the fall of man. What has changed is that now we hear about much of the bad in our news media. The news media of the 16th century didn’t really have stories of boys 13-25 being kidnapped and forced to work on board ships or foreign vessels, stories of girls kidnapped and ‘married’ to ugly old men with names like Mohammed, or castrated so they could sing in an all boys choir till they were 35. To be alive after the age of 2 was considered a miracle and living to the ripe old age of 35 a person was praised for having lived a good life.

Posted on December 30, 2011 at 7:27amBrings to mind a funny story: I was game hunting years ago. There were poisonous snakes virtually everywhere – so much so, I had to sidestep into a ravine to avoid them. There were low pockets in the ravine that swallowed up vision from outside its banks. All of a sudden , a huge serpent flew over the bank into the ravine, slapped my leg with its tail , stood straight up in front of me, and departed as quickly as it had appeared. Funny. I’ll always remember that day.

Posted on December 30, 2011 at 6:05amComing to a neighborhood near you.
Humans 50+ years ago used to be rational. They would organize public efforts to rid their areas of dangerous species like poisonous snakes, bears, wolves, mountain lions, sharks, etc.
But then came along the demented, self-loathing, and suicidal leftist cultural revolution and the environ-mental movement that came with it.
Now we’re treated to legions of idiots who think “reintroducing” dangerous predators to their communities is a wonderful and noble thing.
I used to be a hardcore, militant, leftist, environ-mental, activist a few years ago. Trust me, these so-called “conservationists” absolutely despise humanity. They view the human species as cancerous and the #1 threat to “Mother Earth”.
My fellow environ-mental activists would actually CELEBRATE stories of wild animals attacking people. I’m not kidding.
I’m being 100% serious when I say that environ-mentalists care more about great white sharks and grizzly bears than they do about you and your kids.
Right now, these anti-human, nature worshipping, cultist, activists are trying to get dangerous predators to takeover your communities.
They’re also trying to disarm you. That’s right. They want to ban guns in public parks and even in your home so you can’t shoot their beloved pets when they attack you and your loved ones.
Don’t let them accomplish their evil agenda. Organize against them. Keep your communities safe for human habitation.

Posted on December 30, 2011 at 5:57amIf two people were to grab the snake by the neck with both hands while another person held the child, they could “unwind” the snake’s body from around the child, but depending on the size of the snake, it could be very difficult. Pythons and boas are extremely strong.
Better and quicker would be for them to grab the snake the same way while another person “sawed” the snake in two just below where they held it with a large serrated kitchen knife or hacksaw. This would cause the snake to release its grip immediately.

My middle child got attacked by ants in the backyard. My youngest was stung by a scorpion on the back patio. I’m sure a python attack is as out of the norm for this mother as a coyote attack would have been for me. We “child proof” our backyards and let our children run in a safe environment while we are nearby with an ear attuned. What’s “inexcusable” about that? Are we supposed to keep our children under tight rein? Are they not allowed to explore their environment? Isn’t that how we learn? You speak as if the mother expected a python to appear in her backyard. You cannot imagine the things I imagined when I started letting my first child get distance from me (Yes, at 2). In all my nightmares, never saw the roosters. Or the chick that scratched his cornea. Does that make me a bad mother? Inattentive? Nope.
