Blooper: TV News Anchor Hits Co-Host in Head with Laptop After Delivering Segment on How WIFI Damages Sperm

Watch ABC World News Now anchor Rob Nelson accidentally hit his co-anchor Sunny Hostin in the head with a laptop in this off-the cuff blooper. Strangely, Nelson had just concluded a segment on why WIFI might damage sperm in men when he closed his laptop, picked it up, and accidentally clipped the back of Hostin’s head. The two started laughing hysterically.
To note, Nelson was delivering a report on new research indicating that the heat emitted by laptops’ wireless Internet could damage sperm.
Reuters reports that scientists at Nascentis Medicina Reproductiva in Cordoba, Argentina, found sperm samples from healthy men placed under laptops with wi-fi on damaged three times as many sperm as than samples stored at the same temperature away but not under a computer. The researchers believe electromagnetic radiation — a factor unrelated to heat generated from the laptop — damaged the sperm in some way. The researchers also conducted a test where the sample was placed under a computer without wireless enabled and found little electromagnetic radiation being emitted from just the laptop.
In their paper published in Fertility and Sterility, the researchers say they believe their results could be linked to decreased male fertility but acknowledge that more studies would need to be conducted to prove this speculation:
The president of the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology, Dr. Robert Oates, told Reuters Health he doesn’t believe laptops are a significant threat to male reproductive health.
“This is not real-life biology, this is a completely artificial setting,” he said. “It is scientifically interesting, but to me it doesn’t have any human biological relevance.”
The Blaze’s Liz Klimas contributed to this story.

Posted on November 30, 2011 at 9:50amWhat does anyone expect? The bar has been set so low by affirmative action, and liberals in general, that you should not be surprised by anchors that can not build a sentence, or make up words as they go, (you listening Al Sharpton).
Report Post »Now, the level of news posted on The Blaze has reached the low bar. If it goes any lower we will be reading news posted on Huffington Post…….oh, sorry; already doing that are they not?

Posted on November 30, 2011 at 10:10am@Macpappy… you know, I’ve seen some really unfortunate abuses and/or misapplications of affirmative action in my life, but after reading your comment I re-listened to that clip two more times, and apart from some obviously placed colloquialisms, for humor’s sake, I’m not seeing anything that would indicate that either of these anchors are not perfectly competent people. You do no one any favors, particularly yourself, by broad brushing minorities this way.
P.S. Are you another one of the obvious plants I see up here on the Blaze from time to time, trying to make it look like people who frequent this site are ignorant, racist, homophobic, extremists?

You’re right on, guy, I might just point out that the AA is in the form of governmental threats and intimidation to hire blacks by order of this FCC Diversity Czar, Mark Lloyd who says whites must step down so non-whites can take over, as if that isn’t stark racism at its worst, and is no different than the alleged racism they rale against.
It’s a shame that those like Matt Marshal are unable to see the danger there. “Homophobic,“ ”racist,” and other perjoratives are used by the left against anyone who objects to their brand of injustice for the sake of creating a nonsensical rainbow utopia that is doomed to fail and is splitting the country apart. How people can let themselves be brainwashed into thinking legitimate criticism is something to shun is amazing to me.

Posted on November 29, 2011 at 10:35pmThe wireless part of a laptop generates no noticeable heat. However, the CPU and Hard Drive generate the most heat and if you clog up the CPU’s intake fan vent on the bottom of most laptops with your clothes it can get so hot it can damage the CPU, the Motherboard and/or the Northbridge chipset.
Report Post »Placing most laptops on a bed or a couch will also damage most laptops.
The-Monk
Posted on November 29, 2011 at 10:44pmMost laptops are NOT made to be placed on your lap regardless of that generic name. Look at the bottom of your laptop. If there is a round intake vent (sometimes square) with an exhaust vent near it on the side then you should never place it on your lap, a bed or a couch. Anything that restricts the intake air flow on the bottom can permanently damage your laptop from heat.

Posted on November 30, 2011 at 12:19amDamage the cpu if it’s an AMD maybe, Intel cpu’s have thermal shut off if they get too hot. But yeah laptops aren’t ment for your lap. One of the computer industries misnomers.
Report Post »kevinj319
Posted on November 30, 2011 at 1:47pmFor that reason, the industry stopped calling them laptops years ago. Now they are notebooks. Laptop is just a colloquialism.
And nearly all computers have a thermal shutoff regardless of the brand. Problem is, what if it fails? Also, operating the computer at a very high temperature over time can damage it just the same, even though the thermal warning isn’t tripped.
Anyway, good thing I don’t put my computer on my b@||s.
