Boehner: ‘I’m Going to Make Sure This Health Care Bill Never, Ever, Ever is Implemented’

Yesterday, the man many expect to be the new Speaker of the House, Rep. John Boehner (R-OH), made it clear what he and the new Republican majority think the American people have ordered them to do:  “we will repeal Obamacare.”

“Trust me, I’m going to make sure this health care bill never, ever, ever is implemented,” he said in an interview with Fox News:

The idea was echoed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Thursday, who said that GOP leaders will fight to repeal Obamacare and that in order to be successful the country must make Obama a one-term president.

In response, the White House said it doesn’t believe Americans are sending a policy message, and aren’t upset with Obamacare. In Thursday’s daily press briefing, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters that “nothing” from Tuesday’s election suggest Americans want to go back to the old health care system.

“I don‘t think any data suggests that that’s what people want to see after Tuesday,” he said.

A similar sentiment was trumpeted earlier in the day. Gibbs, in a special online question-and-answer session, said the president’s “reading of the election is that we all have to work together to find common ground.” Unlike Republicans, he said nothing about policy:

I hope and pray that what John is saying stays the truth. For to long we the People of just ignored Washington thinking it doesn’t really effect my life so why bother. Well we have woken up and see why we should bother – our freedom and way of life is at stake.
As for the President not thinking this election was a result of people not wanting his healthcare or other policies – they need a reality check as well. My hope is they will get that big time in 2012!

I am astounded that Obama and his ilk actually get any support whatsoever in this free nation. If they want to interfere in the economic affairs of free men, they should meet with the same resistance that King George met with, along with all other tyrants and their sycophants on the dung hills of history.

I think there were a couple of provisions in the bill that were good. The pre-existing condition and non-cancellation/denying coverage for someone that has been insured. I know I was really pissed when I lived in Florida and after the hurricanes in 2005 my insurer S***e F*** pulled up stakes and told me sorry Charlie, we’re broke. At that point I would have really liked to have gotten a refund on my premiums, probably would have paid for most of the damage I suffered. But, the rest of the HCR should be scrapped.

They can repeal it and have it stall out in the senate.
They can repeal it and Senate dems slated for re election in 2012 can vote for repeal knowing the Prez will veto.
They can vote to repeal then defund. This seems the likely route. I hope people understand this.

What Obama, the media and both political parties fail to understand about the mid term elections is: It’s not about political parties, race, or even the economy that most people are concerned about…it is the IDEOLOGY that some are forcing on the American people as an excuse for changing the direction from “We The People” to “We the Government”. Any Republican elected that does not live by his/her oath to protect the constitution..should be warned once…after that they are in control of their own decisions , not the political party they belong to.If not, we will clean house again…but it won’t be in favor of Democrats…they have destroyed themselves.

First, they cannot repeal it. The President has veto power and the Senate doesn’t have the votes for full repeal. The Cato institute said this. McConnell has admitted as much. Boehner is either lying or is collossally stupid making this statement.

Second, he should be careful about reading repeal of health care into election results. 47% of likely voters said that they favor repeal, but the same number said they want to keep or advance it further. That is not a mandate for repeal. Amongst all voters, rather than just likely ones, those in favor of repeal are not more than 40%, while those who want to keep or advance it are over 50%. Those are solid, recent polls, and they suggest that health care repeal did not drive most angry voters to the polls. A final thought: voters have said for months (including Democrats) that they wonder why the White House and Congress focused on health care reform when jobs should have topped the agenda; now the GOP is going to put itself in the dubious position of looking like it is ignoring the priority of job creation in order to focus on health care… Good luck with that one.

Right now they can’t repeal it, but they have enough in congress to hold up funds to implement parts of it. But in two years we will hopfully have a president with a brain that will repeal it. Then we can get on with getting the rest of the Democrats out of office including Reid. Any politician that votes for a bill and doesn‘t know what’s in it. Has got to be an idiot.

Introduce and vote on Republican healthcare ideas and get everyone up for election in 2012 on the record. Those that vote against will have to defend position and will hopefully be voted out! Then move on to cutting budget and taxes.

You and your wife’s marriage may be on shaky ground. My wife and I have some liberal friends who are the nicest people. We like them a lot. So we don’t talk politics very much because we like them. They are not political junkies and don’t know the issues. They are also younger than we are. If we love on them and show them how grown-ups act, they will see the light eventually.

On the other hand, there is a fellow at our church who is a rabid…I mean RABID liberal. When we are together and politics don’t come up, he is the nicest guy in the world. But when we have get togethers he will start the Bush bashing and spew all the liberal false talking points. I shoot them all down but he doesn’t stop. Then I leave the conversation because it will result in me hating him and I don’t want that. This is why I don’t condemn all liberals. Some of them are great people under that cloak of stupidity and it’s up to us to pull off that shroud of ignorance, in love and show them the truth.

What a shame! It appears that our President’s plan to save both Social Security and Medicare is doomed to failure.

The Social Security Trust Fund is almost bankrupt and the Medicare trust fund is bankrupt. The problem has been apparent for years but until now no one has advanced a plan to save these popular programs.

At last, our President has the courage to propose a solution! It is so simple that one wonders why no one thought of it before. The solution?

Enact a “Health Care Reform Bill” the severely rations health care to the elderly. This will save the Medicare Trust Fund and allow it to be used to reward the Presidents political cronies and provide health care for “deserving Illegal Aliens.”

Deprived of medical care, the lifespan of the elderly will be reduced, depleting the number of recipients of the Social Security Trust Fund, saving that popular program.

Both problems solved! Why did it take so long to find such a simple solution?

Of course, the Congress and the President are exempted from the solution so they can perpetuate the problem.

This is where the real interest should focus and this is where the rubber meets the road. Constitutional violations are treason and should be addressed as a top priority. Don’t let these traitors off the hook. The best defense is a relentless offense. Sort of like the Obama administration.
