‘Boehner Land’: DNC Launches Campaign to Vilify House Minority Leader

Here’s the lead on the main story on The New York Times:
Democrats are again stepping up their effort to elevate Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio into a symbol of the Republican Party virtually equivalent to the elephant. And in doing so, they are executing a strategy intended to do more than just provide President Obama and his party with a convenient punching bag.
Here’s the ad:
Here’s the the thinking behind the strategy:
The Democratic effort goes beyond introducing Mr. Boehner to a public mostly unfamiliar with a man who has been in and out of the House Republican leadership over the last 16 years. Democratic officials say the Boehner offensive is a calculated, multitiered plan put in place to achieve several objectives.
They said that with his long career in Washington and role in leading the party in the 1990s and again recently, Mr. Boehner could easily be painted as representing the old-style Republican rule that turned voters off in 2006 and 2008. Democrats say his long tenure could also diminish enthusiasm among Tea Party activists and others who want to clean house in the House.
Democrats also hope that by treating Mr. Boehner as the new head of the party, they can drive a wedge between him and other ambitious Republicans who see the coming election as their moment to shine as well, causing friction and disharmony on the issues.
And get ready for more!
With news organizations and other groups closely examining Mr. Boehner’s background and record because of his potential rise to power, Democrats say they have laid the groundwork for using any potentially damaging material that turns up by putting Mr. Boehner in the spotlight.

that’s ONE thing obama has right – the repukelicans HAVE NO FRESH IDEAS. can you say washed up? any repukelican votes this November will go to them because of anti-democrap backlash, NOT because the repukelicans have a better agenda.
the agendas of BOTH parties serve NONE of us. that‘s what they don’t get.. we see it. and so, the ‘tea party’ becomes a more viable option of voter rebellion.

Posted on September 14, 2010 at 9:56amGet your facts right! Author: CaptElaine. The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009 — it was actually January 3rd 2007. The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995. “For those of you who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is ”Bush’s Fault,” think about this: January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress: At the time: The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77 The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5% The Unemployment rate was 4.6% George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION! Remember the day. January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee. The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES! THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment to this CRISIS by dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOS! Believe me your comments do not affect the visitors here in the way you would like. Conservatives just believe liberals need mental help, as their view of America is completely upside down from what this country is about. Believe me, telling yourself how smart you are does not make it so no matter how many times you pat yourself on the back. It’s just like saying the word “music” after the word “rap” over and over again. By the way, before you get your panties in a wad, my not liking rap does not mean I’m racist, I just know the difference between music and vulgar noise.
With regard to your great leader, Barack Obama, his presidency is finished. I could almost run for President against him and win at this point. He and the idiots that follow him stepped over the line with the American people too many times. November will give him a real big wakeup call.
I pray he will live a long life so that his massive ego will receive daily therapy going down in history as the worst living president. I’m sure Jimmy Carter will be glad to get some relief too. After his epic fail here he will probably move to another country with George Soros and try to take it over. Oh wait, I forgot, that would involve him actually working.
I’m sure my fellow Blaze visitors don’t want you to go, as your constant vigil to be the first commenter is quite entertaining. Keep up the good work!

Posted on September 14, 2010 at 6:32pmIf you don‘t like freedom and capitalism or this country why don’t you go live in North Korea or Cuba and get the hell out! Nobody has a gun to ur head forcing you to live here. Just take your Bill Mahr pal and your Obama savior and just leave. All of us that do appreciate capitalism and freedom would appreciate it. :)

Posted on September 15, 2010 at 7:51amWhy is it that the only thing progressives can do or say is to villify true Americans that love and want to preserve this country. The differences in the post of the people explain a lot.
