Boehner Says He Expects ‘Same Old Policies’ from the President During SOTU: ‘I Think It’s Pathetic’

Speaker Boehner Talks State of the Union and Jobs on Fox News

In an appearance on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, House Speaker John Boehner made the case that over the last two years the real job creators have been Republicans, not President Obama and his party. Appearing before the President’s State of the Union address this Tuesday, Speaker Boehner said he expects to hear the “same old policies” from President:

“You know, I’ve read a lot about what the president’s going to talk about Tuesday night. And it sounds to me like the same old policies that we’ve seen: more spending, higher taxes, more regulations,” said Speaker Boehner. “The same policies that haven’t helped our economy, they’ve made it worse. And if that’s what the president’s going to talk about Tuesday night, I think it’s pathetic. ”

Obama is expected to outline an economic blueprint built around manufacturing, energy and education, and officials have said he’ll propose fresh ideas to try to get the wealthy to pay more in taxes, according the Associated Press.

When asked how he will respond when the President attacks the “do nothing Congress” led by Republicans during his general election campaign, Speaker Boehner came prepared with literature.

“Chris, thirty jobs bills passed over the last year in a Republican House of Representatives that are sitting in the United States Senate, 30,” said the Speaker while holding a pamphlet outlining 30 jobs bills passed in the House waiting on the Democrat controlled Senate. “Our focus over the last 12 months has been on jobs. Our focus over the course of the next 12 months is going to be on jobs”

“We’ve done our job for the American people and the fact is this Chris,” the Speaker went on to say. “The President’s policies have failed to get our economy moving again, and as a matter of fact, it‘s the President’s policies that have actually made our economy worse.

“It’s time for a new direction.”

Wallace challenged Speaker Boehner on the productivity of this Congress, pointing to low job approval polls and a POLITICO report from Friday which drew attention to only 80 laws that passed during the 112th Congress, 20 percent of which either named a federal building or appointed a trustee to a federally appointed board.

“Is the measure of the job the Congress does the number of laws that we passed?” Speaker Boehner responded. “Most Americans think we got too many laws already!”

30 bills to cut taxes for the richest maybe, but Bush proved that doesn’t do anything for the economy.

The sad news for Boenher and the entire country is that he can’t negotiate, on behalf of the House, any deal with the Senate (for reference see the payroll tax cuts that he negotiated, and which later fell through once agreement was reached). To accomplish anything he has appease the most extreme members of his party, something that makes democracy fail as ours has. No suprise that Americans are disgusted with the completely disfunctional House.

Wish Gingrich had Boehner’s job. At least we’d see some fireworks . Obama is playing congress like a violin – usurping their powers with his Czars , bureaus, regulations, and executive orders . AND Obama trashes them while he does so ! Like the Occupiers : nudging, pushing, defying, and criticizing. And what does congress do ? Zippo. Now Obama is targeting the Supreme Court over the Citizens United decision . Fits right into Obama’s War on Capitalism: he demonizes the ” rich/fat cat / corporations“ while he defends the ” people-ness ” of his Mob-styled unions. About as transparent as glass, Comrade !

People wake up do you not see what is going on here? This is not a do nothing congress! They have authorized more spending this year then last! We now have legislation being advanced and written by the senate dim’s that has not gone thru the committee process for review. What that means is that we do not have a clue what’s hidden in the bill that may effect our freedoms! The leaders are complicit in this or they would not allow it to happen and would not receive a bill that did not originate in the house as proscribed in the constitution! They are getting around the rule by voting on a duplicate bill that cannot be changed or amended in any way. This is how we are getting screwed on every bill since the 2010 election. Sense the last election not one major bill that passed in the house has been allowed a vote in the senate, as prescribed by the constitution.

I predict this state of the Union will see the Emperor take off his robe.

He’ll rally the progressive and socialist base: Washington is failing because ‘we’ aren’t taking enough back (this will insight OWS too). He’s going to push for the violent emotional side of the spectrum to march on, further giving rise to the perceived need of NDAA, SOPA, PIPA, etc. once the violence starts coming down again and it will get worse. Last summer/fall was a warm up to see how far they could get. He did what the powers that be wanted him to do… health care mandate, NDAA, sign SOPA and PIPA if they get through … now he just has to fend for himself to stay on the gravy train, which means its time to campaign and he has a lot of work to do in the next year.

The less Congress does the better. That is the point of the seperation of powers. Getting things done means we lose more freedoms. Congress being full time, doesn’t think they are doing their job unless they are making more laws and regulations. Bull chips! Getting things done, we can’t wait, means government wants more power knowing the people won’t approve so we have to force it though before the people find out what power grab we are putting forward like Obamacare.

Louis T. McFadden brought impeachment charges against some of the founders of the federal reserve, the reserve board, the secretary of the treasury etc. back in the early 1930′s and died soon thereafter.

Look at the nature of the laws being passed, stop thinking the president or the speaker is from or part of a party – they were to get where they are at, once they’re there? Pffft. If Boehner or anyone brings impeachment charges against Obama, buhbye, and not because Obama would do it; PBo’s not the power behind the Presidency, he’s just a slick mouth that can read well from a teleprompter and sign his name who had vastly different ideas the day he stepped into office; he’s toeing the same line Bush1/Clinton/Bush2 all did.

Of course it will be the same old policies. Obama will double down on everything he has espoused so far. He will stick with his ideology to the bitter end. Boehner needs to forget cooperation and compromise and go into attack dog mode.

I don’t think there is any fight left in that dog.

As my grandfather use to say “that dog can’t hunt.”
