Book: Obama Team Tried to Pay Rev. Wright $150K to Keep Quiet Until After 2008 Election

Rev. Jeremiah Wright said members of Barack Obama’s team tried to buy his silence until after the 2008 election, according to a new book.

“The Amateur,” author Edward Klein’s unauthorized biography of Obama, has been making waves with explosive claims that former President Bill Clinton called Obama an “amateur” and encouraged Hillary Clinton to quit her secretary of state post and run against him in 2012.

The New York Post on Sunday published a conversation between Wright and Klein, the latest tidbit to come from the book. In it, Wright said once his fiery sermons surfaced during the 2008 campaign, he received an email asking him not to preach until after November:

“Who sent the e-mail?” I asked Wright.

“It was from one of Barack’s closest friends.”

“He offered you money?”

“Not directly,” Wright said. “He sent the offer to one of the members of the church, who sent it to me.”

“How much money did he offer you?”

“One hundred and fifty thousand dollars,” Wright said.

Wright said he was also visited by then-Senator Obama himself, who wanted to meet in secret.

“And one of the first things Barack said was, ‘I really wish you wouldn’t do any more public speaking until after the November election.’ He knew I had some speaking engagements lined up, and he said, ‘I wish you wouldn’t speak. It’s gonna hurt the campaign if you do that.’

“And what did you say?” I asked. “I said, ‘I don’t see it that way. And anyway, how am I supposed to support my family?’ And he said, ‘Well, I wish you wouldn’t speak in public. The press is gonna eat you alive.’

“Barack said, ‘I’m sorry you don’t see it the way I do. Do you know what your problem is?’ And I said, ‘No, what’s my problem?’ And he said, ‘You have to tell the truth.’ I said, ‘That’s a good problem to have. That’s a good problem for all preachers to have. That’s why I could never be a politician.’

“And he said, ‘It’s going to get worse if you go out there and speak. It’s really going to get worse.’

The White House has already pushed back against Klein’s claims about Obama and the Clintons. White House spokesman Eric Schultz accused Klein of making up facts to sell more copies, while a spokesman for Bill Clinton called excerpts from the book “totally and completely false” and said Klein was “a known liar.”

Klein has said the facts in his book are sound.

    Why in the name of all that is holy would any semi-intelligent American be shocked by learning that BHO, using money from the Social Democratic Party (money from lawyers and union retirement funds), would pay someone to keep their mouth shut.       The problem with the Truth and Wright is that the two are not compatible. If Obama truly believes Wright is a truth teller, then we can truly see what the problem is. BHO does not know exactly what the truth is and he is therefore at the mercy of what ever levers Satan wishes to pull to direct his actions.

      Bu acknowledging the explosive exaggerations and outright lies by Wright as the “truth,” this community organizer is FAR, FAR more dangerous than what I orginally surmised.

      That means Obama thinks, as Wright said, that “black males are treated outrageously by this country,” referring to the fact they can’t succeed as a group, which, of course, they can’t, but it has nothing to do with this country and everything to do with themselves. It’s no more than a tactic created to excuse black failure and to pile on the white whipping boy whom they love to hate.

      But by believing this, Obama is no less than a national security risk, besides being a farce and a sham.

      If whites re-elect this miscreant, every single one of those supporters who is known should be written down as traitors. After civil war is ended they must be put on trial in a Nuremberg fashion and called to account for their crimes, because ultimately it is they who will be responsible for the outbreak of civil hostilities by their support of this gruesome malcontent and racist.

I realized the first time I heard Jeremiah Wright’s lunatic ravings in his little “God-d**n America” rant, and that I further knew this was the pastor of the church ODUMBER had attended for 20 years that this (ODUMBER) was a dangerous man, racist to the core, and determined to do in the America he despised.

      What was surprising–and alarming–was the way this information was simply swept aside and this Communist, racist, America-hating POS was swept into office ANYHOW!

      The really sad thing about this story is that so many on the right, including virtually 100% of people here, read that “a new book says” and, provided it’s something negative about President Obama, you’ll believe it. You’ll believe, in fact, anything negative you read about President Obama and we all know why.

      In any case, if you knew how to use the Google, you’d realize this guy. Edward Klein, has written other unsubstantiated hatchet job books before that even conservatives have recoiled from. His last book was about Hilary Clinton, and claiming among other things that Bill Clinton raped Hillary Clinton, that Hillary Clinton is a lesbian and sordid, invented details.

      Peggy Noonan, President Reagan’s speech writer and frequent FOX commentator wrote a review of the book at the time. She says comparing his book to other yellow journalism, “That George W. Bush was a coke-sniffing, girl-chasing lush?… Run for office and we‘ll throw everything we can that will stick and things that won’t stick too. Mr. Klein’s book is in this tradition.”

      She also said, “Mr. Klein’s problem is that he assumes the market is conservative and conservatives are stupid. They’re not, actually. They want solid sourcing and new information that is true.”

      Of course she’s right with smart conservatives. But you won’t find those at this website, nor many other places.

      Here’s a real number though: JP Morgan just lost 2 billion dollars of investors money by gambling on derivatives with their investor’s money, the same thing that crashed the stock market four years ago.

      Nothing really surprising here.

      @JZS – Having not actually been there in person I can’t say for certain how much of what this guy wrote in his book is true or not. What he writes does, however, fit Obama and the rest of the narrative pretty well so it’s really not too much of a stretch of the imagination to believe it. I mean, one minute Obama is saying Wright showed him the way to Jesus and then the next minute he‘s saying he didn’t really hear any of the incendiary sermons and that he didn’t really like Wright all too much anyway? Just that bit of public knowledge makes the whole scenario laid out in the book totally believable… unless your greatest wish is to carry Obama’s love-child and you’re totally unwilling to believe there could be anything negative about the guy. I’m sorry if it upsets your delicate constitution but Obama is a slimeball and one of the worst things to ever happen to America.

      The Fed under Gietners directive is quietly buying up biillions of dollars of toxic derivatives used FIAT money. That is going on right now JZS and it’s being overseen by the WH Admin. This is in effect QE-3 .

      So JPMorgan has lost 2 billion due to havig toxic assets still on it’s books. Correct me if I‘m wrong here JZS but weren’t the rules that banks that took TARP and stimulus bail out to use this money to get rid of toxic assets ? Or was that rule only for banks that did not contribute to Obongos election campaign or support his agenda ? Seems to me the current Admin is currently undertaking two very disasterous financial moves…buying up toxic assets with printed fiat money from Fannie and Freddie (niether of which were properly dealt with under Dodd/Frank, in fact, given a complete pass) and quietly monetizing the debt with even more stimulus spending after the public said in no uncertain terms Nov 2010 to STOP spending and cut back. Add into this mess the taxpayers will be on the hook twice for the toxic asset dirivative fiasco…having p[aid up 3 years ago 150 billion to Fannie/Freddie and now untold billions more spent on assets worth nothing. This is the biggest scandal/scam/rip off of all time and you Liberals are saying NOTHING about it.

      I’m not shocked! He’s doing what he does best. That’s what politicians are all about. The end justifies the means! In this story he allegedly offered money to keep some important info about a relationship to a radical religious preacher out of the press so people would not know the truth about him before the election!

    I really think there should be some sort of congressional purgery comittee for those in and seeking the office of president. When you outright lie and mislead about anything for the purpose of political gain it undermines the trust handed over by the people and destroys the confidence trusted to the presidency.
    Obama and his team have lied and misled pathologically too the point where no even their supporters believe what they spin yet they support the spin and even push the agenda. It’s complete treason and there should be a legal reckoning once this is administration is fired.

      One of the big problems with the current lawlessness is that America‘s ’Top Cop’ Eric Holder, is responsible for much of what continues to go on in the Country. Remember that his position is an appointment by Obama himself, being in bed with the current administration is, basically, required. He will always protect it the Obama Administration.

    Unfortunately, unless you have solid proofs like a video, you can’t get anywhere b/c it’s always a “she said he said” deal. All they have to do is to deny it like they did. The only good I can see is that it might make some people start really wondering and checking into it more to finally see the truth about them but I don’t think there are that many. The ones who say they are still voting for him will continue that way, choosing to live in denial and/or agree with their evil agenda.
    I keep praying for something that will have the undeniable proof also that will force all of the pro-Obama people AND our cowardly Repub. Reps. to HAVE to face it and it will force the MSM to report it….but it’ll have to be so huge w/undeniable proofs to where they are forced into a corner and can’t get out.
    I also am afraid they will resort to manufacturing a crisis in order to declare martial law and suspension of elections b/c they will/are getting desperate. Can’t afford to lose. Hearing that they may try an attempted assasination attempt….who knows. Check out:

      That book that man wrote should be made available to the public. If he had enough money to get copies of it and distrubute it. Those people have proof, they just cannot get enough copies of that book distributed because he has to self-publish. Those publishing companies will not do it.

      Dems need to get clearly redhanded like E. Warren claiming to be Native American (no pun). Ted Kennedy was caught redhanded and he went on to serve many years ruining this country. Dems live in a world of do as I say not as I do. The MSM gives them a pass everytime.

    Funny thing is, Rev. Wright didn’t end up being a problem for Obama because the media (other than FOX News) didn’t do their job. If Rev. Wright had been a religious mentor to a Republican candidate, all hell would have broken loose and the media would have been in an utter frenzy!!! The mainstream media in fact, helped Obama’s team keep the Rev. Wright stuff out of the news. They would just breeze over news on Wright, and/or leave out information that should have been passed along to voters. Fortunately, FOX got it right when it came to reporting on Wright, but in the end, it wasn’t enough – too many brainwashed sheeple!

    While Team Obama searches for a touch point with Americas Youth and puzzles over there lack of enthusiasm over Julia’s home farming and growing technics for home grown Orugulia the required reading from the “Communist Manifesto” or “Fiction of my Father” will pull up short with the youth of today . Mr. Obama’s Election of 08 was a Fad, Ya Holly Wood showed many a movie of a Dynamic Black President in the Oval office. But the reality of the Job is it’s an Audition ……….. Make no mistake White America needed a reality check too.
    So often we tuned out our Black ,Asian and Latino Representatives to any contributions they had to offer.
    The unintended Consequences of President Obama was to expose those who Truly are Great and those that ride the coat tails of race .

As a matter of fact when I was listening to the MSM stations on occasion way back in 2007-2008, the first thought that came to me was that these so called journalists were being paid big bucks NOT to report anything negative on Obama. They were paid to paint a beautiful picture of him. The sad thing is that the Dems I know think that everything on a conservative website is a lie. This people wouldn’t know the truth if it swallowed them.

    Hey, I am not suprised. Boys will be Boys, Politicians will be Politicians, Chicago way will be Chicago way, District of Corruption with be District of Corruption. I don’t know the book or the author, but the above things are always said when boys, politicans, Chicago and DC are doing things they know are bad, wrong, not morale, and/or illegal. It is the “excuse clause” they all think they can hide behind when they are caught in the act. You heard it here first folks…..

      I know, that made no sense to me. “I never heard any of it”????? MOST ALL of us would not have lasted 20 MINUTES in that “congregation” , regardless of the “color”. Never mind, twenty years. That was the first red flag to me.

      And then when he saw it wasn’t well received, immediately threw his “spiritual leader” under the bus.
      Un-friken-believable. He never fooled me for one second, but I”m old and have known many smiling, polite, well dressed, self-serving, and “educated” liars in my time who tell you what you want to hear.

    The photograph of President Obama and Reverend Wright together in front of the congregation is a teachable moment. We can compare DNA ratios and social standing. Barack with the forced smile is the beta. The good Reverend with the honest smile is the alpha. The darker ones dancing and singing in the background are the fanciful tools.

    We know that Barack is 50-50, or a mulatto, and is a pretty angry and tribal guy. We can observe that the good Reverend is mostly white, either a quadroon or an octroon, perhaps even a hexadecaroon. And he seems to be angrier and more tribal than even Barack.

    From this, we can learn that the American ‘melting pot’ is only applicable to human beings who evolved in the presence of Seasons, and Agriculture. It really makes sense if you allow yourself to use Logic honestly and impartially. And if you understand the value of tribalism genes in tropical human development.

    It is not a pleasant reality, and if Americans choose to avoid uncomfortable Truths now, those uncomfortable Truths will soon be imposed upon them. It is already starting to happen.

    AAAAAAH!!! The truth is slowly coming out! Obama sees things in exactly the same way as Jeremiah Wright and his “Team” tried to buy Wright’s silence.

    A second term will allow Obama to unleash a reign of vitriolic hatred against America that he learned from Wright and withheld in his first term. Wright’s hatred of America and all white people will be reflected almost immediately if he is re-elected.

      @Orion…God’s love is what most American churches preach, so it was easy for them to sneak up on Americans’ blind side back in 2008.

      Most of us had no clue there were churches and organizations spewing hatred toward Jews and white people in America. Thank God for Beck and Hannity for having the courage to ‘out’ the thugs. These monsters are going to have to scurry back down into the dark underworld once we elect their leader out of office this November!
