NEW YORK (AP) — The Decider has written a blockbuster.
Random House Inc. says former President George W. Bush’s “Decision Points” sold 775,000 copies through its first week of publication. Random House made the announcement Tuesday.
In the book, the two-term president discusses the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, his decisions to send troops to Afghanistan and Iraq and the response to Hurricane Katrina.
An initial print run of 1.5 million copies has been increased to 1.85 million. E-book sales alone are 100,000.
Random House said last week that opening-day sales of “Decision Points” were its highest since former President Bill Clinton’s “My Life” debuted in 2004.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 9:11amIt is great that America is reading quality books. It must drive the libs even more crazy when they see that the book sales in the last several years are dominated by conservative authors and subjects. The new york times must have a padded room for the book selling editor.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 5:06pmThe Dear Leader writes a patriotic book for children. It takes the brilliant dunce six years to publish it. Hey Joker, you want to delude, pick on someone your own size.
It is insulting that this uncaring and detached CiC plans to donate his book proceeds to the children of fallen and disabled soldiers. It reminds me of al-Qaeda, who married into the local population as an infiltration tactic. I hope truly patriotic Americans do not buy his book.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 8:43amBut, but, but, …… Bill Maher just said that nobody reads anymore. You all must be lying because we know that Maher and Olbermann only deal in facts, so, they’ve said nobody reads anymore. So, well, ummm,….. Bush’s book sale numbers must be a vast right wing media conspiracy of inflated, false numbers because, nobody reads anymore…and, and, and, we all KNOW, that teabaggin’ nut jobs, can’t read anyway, cause, cause, umm, we libs are, um, uh, much smarter than, um, everyone else, and if um, we aren’t um reading anymore, wel, but, um, we know that, like, the like, teabaggers can’t be reading. Write?

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 8:41amCongratulations Mr. President! Obama‘s vindicative and feeble attempts to discredit his predecessor have only served to prove why a genuine and likeable person like Bush’s tome is such a success. What a credit to Bush and the nation that he refrains from getting in the gutter with Obama and his ilk. Bush’s behavior is not only good for the office it shows the country what real statesmen should act like.
We threw some of the garbage out of D.C. on November 2. Let’s throw this phony president and his shopping obsessed wife out in 2012

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 8:16amI wish he would have lead with the same transparency as is displayed in this book. If people had know the reasoning behind these ‘decision points’, there would have been a lot less criticism of him. There is so much to learn on every page.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 7:58amSometimes, I try to imagine what it would have been like if Obama was President instead of George Bush on 9/11. When I wake from the nightmare, I thank God Bush was in charge. He was the right man at the right time. There is never a good time for this current President to be in charge. Obama does not like this Country and it shows more everyday he is in office.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 7:49amThis has got to infuriate Keith Obermann. Bush writes a book and shoots to number one on Amazon. Olbermann writes a book and it shoots to number 839.
Maybe he should stick to coloring books.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 7:40amIt just makes you feel good when you see Bush now? Here‘s a man who was trashed by the left like nothing I’ve ever seen. Most of them don’t even know why. Bush will go down as a great President, unlike our current joke – Obama will be mocked and laughed at for generations.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 7:24amI’m in the process of reading and I love the book. Yesterday, I was watching the “groundbreaking” for the Bush Library and Center which was wonderful–shortly after Obama appeared on the news and the contrast was amazing–grace, dignity, protocol, humble were only a few words to describe the Bush event. Shortly there after was Obama appearing in his usual arrorgant, haughty attitude!!!! The contrast was amazing and a reminder of how lucky we were and fearful for the future under Bozo!

I encourage Everybody to read Decision Points. It is very well written and really defines a man who will end up going down in history as one of our Greatest Presidents. I have really enjoyed and learned so much reading this book. For all you Critic’s read the book first, before you make any ignorant comments. I Respected him as President and Respect him more for giving me an insight of what his life was, and how he felt and dealt with the crisis during his term in office, but back as a citizen of America, I respect him and Laura even more for being true American Patriots.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 7:49amI am looking forward to reading this book and I will also mention that Karl Rove’s book was excellent. It gave a great perspective of GW from a different angle, his honesty and humanity. In fact, I wish GW was called upon to give all medals and recognition to our soldiers; he is the one that truly honors them, not Obama.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 8:03am@grndmaof5…while watching Pres Obama place the Congressional Medal of Honor on Sgt.Guinta neck, I was thinking GW should have had the honor. Obama has no respect or affection for our troops, and I am sure he has zero concern for their sacrifice.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 10:41amReading it now with the companion “A Charge Kept” – the Congressional record.
Among the more significant Congressional recordings are the clear facts that the President and his secretaries warned the Democrat Congress twenty-six (26) times about the dangers to the country and its economy regarding Fannie Mae and Feddie Mac and securities being sold to sustain what he characterized and “extremely risky and irresponsible.” 26 warnings, the first of which was issued formally on 26th April, 2001. President Bush’s warnings were shouted down and at one point the Democrat chairs of the House and Senate for finance and banking accused the President of being anti-minority and anti-housing. Twenty-six formal warnings and the Democrats responded with rhetoric and false accusations. In 2003 President Bush took the warnings to the people – but the leftist media failed to air the interviews. When it was aired once in 2003 and in only limited markets, it was done so in a way to suggest that the President was a bigot and anti-minority.
Read his book and read it with the Congressional records in hand. It will open your eyes in ways nothing else can.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 2:23pmIMO, Glenn has been too harsh on Bush. W is a decent, patriotic, principled man. Glenn seems to forget that after Bush realized he had been played by that vermin Paulson, he adamantly refused to sign the second stimulus bill all the Obama apparatchiks were trying to ram through before he left office.
After two years of nothing but communism and Islamism from the Obama WH, watching Bush’s Fox News interviews has been a balm to my soul.
