Border Agents Arrest U.S. Citizen Smuggling Illegal Aliens in Fake UPS Van

U.S. Border Patrol agents in Niland, Calif. arrested a 21-year-old U.S. citizen on Friday for smuggling illegal immigrants into the U.S. using a counterfeit UPS van.
The van aroused suspicion from border agents after the driver tried to avoid a highway checkpoint. Following a vehicle stop, agents found 13 individuals in the back of the van, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) press release. The passengers were described as “Mexican citizens without legal immigration documents.”
“After further investigation, agents determined that the van was not a legitimate UPS van,” the release said. “The driver and illegal aliens were arrested and the cloned UPS van was seized.”
Smuggling illegal immigrants in the back of vans is certainly no new tactic, but it appears that smugglers are continuing to think up new ways to fool law enforcement.
There are no references to guns, drugs or any other nefarious activities in the U.S. CBP press release. Attempts to contact CBP officials for additional information were unsuccessful. The El Centro Sector CBP was behind the bust.

Posted on May 24, 2012 at 2:14amWHOA…the USA lettuce comes from Yuma, AZ….and we are proud of it. It is watered with Colorado River water and although primarily picked by “migrant labor” it is observed and there are several safety procedures in place to ensure quality.
The majority of America’s lettuce comes from right here in our region…don’t knock it.

Fed Ex Home delivery and Fed Ex Ground only also they didn’t get a F—ing bail out like UPS the brown bail out! Infact they just took a ton of accounts from the unionized employee’s.So please support small independent service providers that are Non-Union (ISP) just set up a fed ex shipping account thanks.

Posted on May 23, 2012 at 5:51pmYeah, but the UPS union wouldn’t mind intimidating the illegals into joining. Thank God we were able to defeat a bill the UPS union was trying to lobby through Congress which would have put FedEx out of business. I HATE UPS. UPS is who caused my disability, when a driver crossed over the center line, messing with his electronic clip board and not watching where he was going.

Posted on May 23, 2012 at 5:28pmPerhaps I read the story wrong, but I think the Feds would arrest the Border Agent for doing his job according to the Eric Holder doctrine. If anything the the Fed’s would arrest the Citizen for endangering the Obama voters in the Van. Welcome to Obamunist USSA

Posted on May 23, 2012 at 5:26pmI hear you on that. I often order collectible items for my hobby and years ago started to request the companies use USPS, or FedEx due to the number of missing packages that I took a lose on that went through UPS. Since we don‘t have a FedEx office in this town and I have a package that the USPS won’t ship I make sure that nothing is labeled with the contents and always, always insure them. To me in this day and age that I would prefer to ship by USPS than a private carrier. UPS has been unionised that I know since I was in high school and had a buddy who worked there in the evenings. I imagine even earlier. It figures.

Posted on May 23, 2012 at 5:53pmRJJINGADSDEN. I hear you on those experiences. I’ve never had a good experience with UPS regarding anything that was shipped in a box. I think most of the damage comes from their conveyor belt systems at their hubs and warehouses at any number of locations before it gets to us.
FedEx used to be great when they were smaller and just air express, but now that they’ve grown they can abuse a package just as good as UPS. I do like the fact that FedEx (with the exception of pilots) are non-union and prefer to ship with them for that fact alone before the USPS or UPS. But sometimes cost does come in to play. Insuring the packages like you stated is a must.

Back to the borders though, if the government wanted them shut down, they would be. The truth is that the government gains money whenever they catch drug dealers. What do you think acutally happens to the drugs they confiscate?
