Botched NATO Airstrike Deaths Nearly Double: 15 Civilians Killed in Libya

NATO has admitted responsibility for a botched airstrike near Tripoli this weekend that killed as many as 15 civilians, according to the BBC, not the 8 initially reported yesterday.

Botched NATO Airstrike Deaths Nearly Double: 15 Civilians Killed in Libya

Damage from the Botched Airstrike

A spokesman for NATO stated that the airstrike intended to hit a military site, but some ordnance missed the target and hit a civilian home instead.

Lieutenant-General Charles Bouchard, commander of NATO’s operations over Libya said:

NATO regrets the loss of innocent civilian lives and takes great care in conducting strikes against a regime determined to use violence against its own citizens. Although we are still determining the specifics of this event, indications are that a weapons system failure may have caused this incident.

Acting under a U.N. mandate to protect civilians, NATO has been bombing Libya for the past 11 weeks. This is the first incident, according to the LA Times, for which NATO has accepted responsibility for civilian deaths.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration is facing a growing bipartisan coalition claiming that the Libyan intervention is in violation of the War Powers Act.

The Obama administration is still claiming that the Libya campaign does not merit any congressional authorization because of its limited scope. A few more ‘weapons system failure(s)’ and this semantic dodge may soon become untenable.

If we are not at war with Libya, we certainly have a strange way of showing it. Watch the report, below, for more:

Obama thumbs his nose at the Congress. He feels he can bomb anyone anytime he wishes. Lybia is Disneyworld compared to the mass slaughter going on in Syria. How come Obama isn’t bombing Syria???? Oh wait…….Europe didn’t tell him to, that’s why. It’s got nothing to do about saving lives.

    Not war, eh?

So then answer this question: “If a foreign nation, let’s say, Libya, was flying unmanned aircraft over the USA, dropping bombs on government buildings and the President’s house (and occasionally, civilians), would THAT be considered an act of war?”

I’m all for preventing genocide and defending our national interests abroad, but don‘t urinate on our backs and tell us that it’s raining. It’s time that this administration faced the impeachment proceedings that are due for the blatant disregard for the law and the treasonous violation of the sworn oath to defend our Constitution.

NATO needs to face war crimes. this is UN One World Government totalitarian crap. the reason obomber wont follow the law and go to congress is because he has no reason to be in libya. this is not to help americans, this is to promote World Government. that makes obama a traitor. Impeach him, which will amount to shame on his presidency. however it may give us the momentum to end US involvement with the UN, a filthy World Government platform. War crimes.

You wish this would never happen but when you are dropping bombs, it happens. Then again, should we be there… NO. Another bad decision for the Obama Administration.

This is just like the ATF’s Fast and Furious. Did you know that htere is possible gun control lobby direction in the operations of this project: http://tiny.cc/pfa7u . Question is… is this an effort to solidify or increase more gun control laws?

      @Fast Facts:

Fast and Furious, like this bothched mess in Libya is meant for more controls to be places via the regulation czar and to increase tensions against the US around the world and on our own borders.

As Van Jones said – pressure and more pressure; top down, bottom up and inside out, and then it will either vent the pressure out or self destruct into their hands for good.
