America‘s ’Don’t Ask, Don‘t Tell’ ban on gays openly serving in the military is no better than the Communist and Islamic regimes of North Korea, Iran and Pakistan, Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., told reporters Friday.
“We now stand with this rule with countries like Iran, North Korea and Pakistan in banning gays and lesbians from military service,” Boxer said. “Our brave young men and women fight alongside allies like Australia, the United Kingdom and others who allow gays and lesbians to serve openly. Let’s not stand with Pakistan and with North Korea and Iran.”
During her Friday press conference, Boxer called on her congressional colleagues to repeal the ban on homosexuals in the military with a lame-duck vote before the current session of Congress ends.
Boxer appeared with Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., a prime sponsor of the measure to repeal the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law. The measure is attached to a Department of Defense authorization bill that has passed the House of Representatives but remains stalled in the Senate.

Posted on November 20, 2010 at 2:18pmWe all know how concerned SENATOR Boxer is that military personnel be treated fairly and with respect. I wonder how many of these Democrats recall which administration introduced DADT.
I don’t care whether homosexuals serve openly in the military or not (as long as efficiency and morale do not take a hit, and this is not something to experiment with during wartime), but listening to some of these libs, you’d think the whole reason the military exists is to help young men and women flap their precious, little wings and find their sense of individuality. When a person joins the military, he or she must be prepared to give up certain rights. I did not think that was such a difficult concept to grasp.

Posted on November 20, 2010 at 11:23amIS this one of these immediately, right now, emergency situations so well verbalized by this administration? Things are working okay for now—why not let it linger abit longer. We have issues that are critical to address to sustain our society’s life— much less taking time to change societal views. Just a thought. Besides Ms. Boxer should be concerning herself with California falling into the abyss and criteria to salvage the state’s life. I think it is called priorities???

Posted on November 20, 2010 at 11:13amI don’t understand how a woman like her can comment on a military scenario……..I liken it to a “coaches” mentality and how you would get your “team” ready to fight……. It’s not something she is QUALIFIED to comment on. That is the inherent problem with liberals….they think they are an authority on everything and USUALLY, they almost ALWAYS get it wrong…..in fact, always get it wrong. Who does she or any other liberal that can’t fight his/her way out of a paper bag, think they are to compromise a military strategy……When is the madness going to stop…? When will we tell the progressives / liberals in this country to SHUT THE #@CK UP when we are supposed to ??

Posted on November 20, 2010 at 9:56amMa’am Boxer has hated America for decades which explains why she is always re-elected in California. Anyone who has spent time in California knows that it does not function as a part of the United States, but rather as a separate, independent anti-America entity complete with a democrat monarchy which is very vocal in its disdain for all things America (except, of course, federal dollars).

Posted on November 20, 2010 at 6:57amMa’am, I know you worked hard at becoming a Senator – like in California it is so difficult for an extremely liberal, arrogant woman to be elected, but to equate the US with Iran and N. Korea is atrocious. The military is not the civilian world and it should be up to the military, not those in congress or even in the country, to force the military into making decisions. It is the military that fights for our rights so let us given them their right to determine if the time is right to lift the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy.

Posted on November 20, 2010 at 4:25amI think if this is appealed, it’s going to be a long process. They can‘t just repeal it and the next day everyone who’s gay announces it. During bootcamp perhaps (and I hate associating military service with social issues very much) there needs to be like everything else you learn there, an education. Seventeen and eighteen year old boys who want to be soldiers or Marines have an idea of what that is and what’s associated with it. Teach them that they‘re all there for one reason and that’s for their country, no matter who does what, etc. I‘m against repealing it but let’s face it; it’s going to happen whether we like it or not because the PC crowd has pretty much taken over. If we do it, then do it the right way. Let it be an evolving process and not a sudden shock to the system because that can only lead to more problems.

Posted on November 20, 2010 at 2:29pmJust like as a nation. we don’t negociate with terrorists, conservatives should not negociate with liberals, don’t talk to them, don’t recognize their presence, don’t give them a microphone, just completely and totally dismiss their existance and eventually they realize they are irrelavent and fade away. People like Boxer, Pelosi, Reid, Obama only continue to exist is because people respond to them. Ignore her comments and, eventually she will quit making them.

San Francisco is NOT in Northern Ca. Time to split the state. Then watch libs change their behavior because we have all the water.
