Police and fire units were called to the Dallas home of former President George W. Bush on Wednesday evening after a man reportedly drove his car into the family’s yard around 8:30 p.m.
The Dallas Morning News reports:
Officials on the scene requested an ambulance for the driver. An early report from KTVT-TV (Channel 11) indicated that the motorist was en route to visit friends in the neighborhood when he lost control of his car.
Dallas police spokesman Warren Mitchell said that there was no perceived threat to the former president. He added that the Secret Service is still investigating the situation.
David Sherzer, Bush’s communications director said, “President and Mrs. Bush are OK. They appreciate the work of the United States Secret Service and Dallas Police Department in responding to the incident.”
CBS local affiliate KTVT reports that the driver was been taken into custody after 13 Dallas Police squad cars responded to the “executive threat.”
The former president was reportedly at home at the time of the incident but was not harmed.

Posted on December 23, 2010 at 12:41amI like how everyone is bringing out the oh-so-hysterical Ted Kennedy jokes while completely ignoring tthe fact that Laura Bush also slaughtered an innocent person while she was drunk behind the wheel. If you’re going to make low brow joke, at least use the most logical person as the punchline. Not to mention the irony of today’s wreck being at HER house.
Speaking of pretending, those here who are remembering W. as acting like anything other than a free spending liberal who screwed up the economy and started the gov’t bailouts of the private sector are living in a fantasy world.

There’s no verification that Laura was drunk at all. That’s just something you far-left commies write in your fairytale. She was a young teenager, and had an ACCIDENT.
Ted Kennedy was a married adult who was driving drunk – not to mention that he was a serial adulterer.
I’m very happy that this creep is no longer around. The very best thing is that he never was President, but George W. Bush was. That’s “social justice” for me. LOL!

Posted on December 23, 2010 at 12:53amI’m not able to edit above but need to correct myself. Laura Bush was not believed to have been intoxicated though no test was given. She did run the stop sign and collided with the other vehicle, killing the driver.

Posted on December 23, 2010 at 1:15am@ RAWBY – 2,
I see we posted at the same time. Why would you insinuate that Laura Bush “might have” been drunk when no field test was given? The truth is no test was given because there wasn’t any indication that she was drunk.
Now, Ted Kennedy is a very different case. He didn’t even report his “accident” until many hours after it happened. He was at a party (with a woman who was not his wife) and where drinking was certainly going on. The F-tard drove off a bridge and saved his self – leaving poor Mary Jo to drown.
Funny that you think that Ted Kennedy is upstanding, yet you disparage Laura Bush for having an accident as an inexperienced teen driver.

Posted on December 23, 2010 at 12:32amYou’re absolutely right! Americans don’t need fences. Illegal Mexican’s and others who use our south western border are the ones who need the fence! American’s have no reason to leave our great country illegally.

Posted on December 23, 2010 at 12:51amDrunk driving can result in some crazy results… President Bush may be able to attest, and I mean NO disrespect.
In the beginning of “Decision Points” he explains where he was with alcohol.
My guess is that if there was no malicious intent, and alcohol was involved, President Bush would gladly sit down and offer some insight…
DASHRIPROCK – the ornament thing was damn funny.
