It just doesn’t matter who “wins” the next election. It’s been over for a long time.
The question shouldn’t be, “Who will lead this dying nation?”, but rather, “Where do we go from here?”
History. When the stupidity quotient gets too high the smart ones leave. All I need to know is where we go next.

Report Post »We have witnessed something very disturbing this week. The Republican establishment which fought Ronald Reagan in the 1970s and which continues to fight the grassroots Tea Party movement today has adopted the tactics of the left in using the media and the politics of personal destruction to attack an opponent…But this whole thing isn’t really about Newt Gingrich vs. Mitt Romney. It is about the GOP establishment vs. the Tea Party grassroots and independent Americans who are sick of the politics of personal destruction used now by both parties’ operatives with a complicit media egging it on. In fact, the establishment has been just as dismissive of Ron Paul and Rick Santorum. Newt is an imperfect vessel for Tea Party support, but in South Carolina the Tea Party chose to get behind him instead of the old guard’s choice. In response, the GOP establishment voices denounced South Carolinian voters with the same vitriol we usually see from the left when they spew hatred at everyday Americans “bitterly clinging” to their faith and their Second Amendment rights. The Tea Party was once again told to sit down and shut up and listen to the “wisdom” of their betters. We were reminded of the litany of Tea Party endorsed candidates in 2010 who didn’t win. Well, here’s a little newsflash to the establishment: without the Tea Party there would have been no historic 2010 victory at all…http://www.fac

Santorum would be a horrible nominee and would lose badly. He’s not going to win on his looks. Gingrich is imploding as we speak, and looked like a caricature of a human being at the Jacksonville debate. He’ll hobble along for a while after finishing 14 points back in Florida, but he’s all but dead now. That leaves one man standing, the most conservative in the race – Mitt Romney.

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 5:39pmSantorum is the best of the 4 remaining. Newt is the worst by my estimate, and according to recent polls versus Obama as well. Santorum won the debate last night. Although he has given up on Florida, he could do well in upcoming caucus states. This could come down to a brokered convention, so candidates should be very careful who their delegates are.

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 11:08pmRomney is the progressive candidate the Republican establishment wants to replace Obama.
Gingrich is the old progressive who wishes to be the Republican establishment’s candidate, but will never get their support.
Santorum is the conservative candidate that is not bought and paid for, granted he made some mistakes when he attempted to play DC politics, thinking that’s how you needed to operate to get things done. He is the only true conservative not tied to the progressives.
Ron Paul is an old school southern Liberal fronting as a conservative independent. His beliefs in legalizing drugs will not strengthen our country, but only add to it’s demise. His isolationism beliefs will quickly place us into WWIII, leaving us to live paranoid lives wondering when we will be blown to hell and back by a well placed bomb. All the while watching our freedoms being taken away under the guise of self preservation, just like the progressives have done the last 30 years, but instead of falsely generating the fear of the enemy it will be very real threats.

So far, that seems to be the worst thing that anyone can say about Santorum: That he supported Specter.
GOLLY! You mean he supported an in-state colleague of the same party?! Say it ain’t so, Rick!
I don‘t know what part of Ohio you’re in, but you need to tune in Quinn and Rose, who are syndicated out of Pittsburgh, and whose show is heard on WHLO (Akron/Canton) and WNCO (Ashland) and also can be heard using the iHeartRadio app.
Santorum has been a guest on the show many times — and they did take him to task for his support of Specter. But he articulates true conservatism on virtually every topic he is queried on.
I think it is utterly ridiculous to cast stones and call him “despicable” just because, in this instance, he toed the party line. Get a grip.
We conservatives/Republicans need to do two things:
1. STOP looking for the perfect candidate!
2. STOP letting the MSM foist upon us these milquetoast RINO Republicans as our “best bet to win” Clue: If the media fawns on a Republican it’s because he is easily beatable.

Santorum nor Gingrich even have the delegates to win the primary.
it’s either Romney or Paul. and Paul is the most constitutional one of them all. People say they disagree with Ron Pauls foreign policy… the fact is this,
Congress (The People) as declared in our constitution is the ONLY authority to declare war. The People are the ones who decide to send our sons and daughters off to war, not NATO, not the UN, not the IMF… If there is a theat to an ally, we can put it through congress and decide if we should get involved and what the consequences will be, etc.. that is the only just way… every time you help someone in the world you upset someone else.. every time you kill 1 innocent life you create 10 more people who get enraged at you and become willing to kill..
example?
china drone strikes some dillweed who talked trash about them near your house and your wife and child die from the explosion… what do you do? most likely, you’ll get your butt over to china… and the rest will be called terrorism.
so… if you are against following our constitution and the rule of law, then i don’t know what to say…
the other fact is, a broke nation can’t defend anyone…

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 5:10pmBADDOGGY, what do you know that we should know? great comment with no freaking backup…..don’t just post, think a little bit. Have you not been listening, or is RP your man? Rick Santorum stands for everything I believe in and would be the best of the bunch as president. He is the MOST real person on the platform. Give us some juice or keep it closed.

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 9:46pmAbsolutely. I could vote for Santorum, too. Easily.
(And would I vote for Newt if nominated? Damn right I would. But that’s another subject.)
As I stated earlier, I have heard Rick talk at length many times and he is the real deal. Those who are shilling for Paul or slamming Santorum know nothing about him. Folks, this guy is the real deal and the fact is, in pure conservative terms, he is far and away the most conservative candidate left.
And…I’m sorry…but while Ron Paul would make a great Sec-treas., he is a naive idiot when it comes to many other issues.

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 4:22pmDown goes Gingrich. Down goes Romney. Up comes Santorum. That sure would be a nice change. Better yet would be Romgrich just dropping out to bring the candidacy to either Santorum or Paul.

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 4:35pmit’s just a shame though, santorum would never beat obama… you think democrats, independents and moderate republicans are going to flock to santorum? lol… come on guys…
Ron Paul is the only one who can landslide Obama. he will pull democrats, independents, and republicans. this is a fact.

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 5:14pmLandslide Obama, Ron Paul? What planet are you from? Ron Paul would go the way of the great Barry Goldwater. A great man, with great ideas, but too much for the time. Ron has no chance of winning a national election. Too freaky and crazy world view.

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 8:54pmi think not.
santorum is going to get 0 democrats and 0 independents.
look at the numbers Ron Paul gets.. it’s a fact that there are “blue republicans” now, all because of Ron Paul.. look it up… people are coming in droves to vote in the primaries for him. you can keep on truckin with the MSM, keep doing what you are doing, stay the course, keep voting the same way and expect different results. You guys better actually start doing some research… actually listen to what these people say, have signed, etc… Ron Paul has more support from active duty military than all the candidates combined including obama. support our troops… support Ron Paul…

Maybe you’re kind of new at watching politics, BUT, (TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO‘S PROBABLY BEEN VOTING LONGER THAN YOU’VE BEEN BREATHING! If not my apologies, you sound younger than 54.) TO MANY LIBS & PROGS POLITICS ARE PLAYED LIKE CHESS! THEY WANT TO GET THE ONE WHO’LL BE THE EASIEST TO BEAT, OR LEAST LIKELY TO HARM THE THINGS THEY STAND FOR! THEY WATCHED RUSH WITH HILLARY’S CROSSOVER VOTERS, RUN THE COST UP FOR B O LAST ELECTION AND THEY‘RE PLAYING THE SAME GAME NOW WITH THE REPUB’S & WITH R P!

Posted on January 27, 2012 at 4:38pmAs I listened to Rush today I got the feeling that he hinted toward Santorum, but refuses to come forth with any recommendation. Then again, ever since I started listening to him in ‘89 he has never outwardly supported anybody until the actual candidate has been picked. Apparently his brother did for the first time this year earning him the Rogue moniker.
