Bristol Palin Takes Third on DWTS

LOS ANGELES (The Blaze/AP) — Jennifer Grey is the new “Dancing With the Stars” champ.
The 50-year-old actress beat out actor Kyle Massey and voting favorite Bristol Palin to take the title Tuesday.
Grey and professional partner Derek Hough earned a string of perfect scores on their way to the mirrorball trophy. The couple consistently topped the judges’ leaderboard throughout the season, but Palin’s cadre of voter support led to some surprising upsets, including Brandy’s elimination after earning a perfect score last week.
Grey overcame physical pain to claim the “Dancing” championship, including an old injury in her neck and a new one in her knee.
Bristol Palin could not overcome low scores from judges to become the new “Dancing With the Stars” champ.A cadre of dedicated voters helped Palin overcome less-than-stellar scores throughout the competition and remain in the competition, but she was the first contestant to be eliminated Tuesday night, trailing leader Jennifer Grey and Kyle Massey.
Palin’s improbable run for the finals had been championed by some conservative bloggers, who led get-out-the-vote campaigns on behalf of the 20-year-old single mom. Palin’s fan support was evident when she was voted in over Brandy — who had received a perfect score for her tango — on last week’s show, prompting some viewers to question the veracity of the “Dancing” voting system.
The show acknowledged its voting system was temporarily overwhelmed after Monday’s show, but the issue was resolved quickly and “affected each finalist equally.”

Posted on November 24, 2010 at 4:48pmApparently all of those people who are upset that Bristol stayed on as long as she did never saw the season that Jerry Springer was on it. He was awful, he never improved after all those weeks, the judges always scored him low, yet he stayed on until almost the final round. It’s a popularity contest and the name Palin is obviously popular. Get over it. I commend Bristol for sticking her neck out there, in Los Angeles no less, knowing the filthy hate that would be spewed towards her by liberals and RINO’s.

Posted on November 24, 2010 at 4:30pmI thought the ending was boring and disappointing. Jennifer Grey has lots of dancing experience (so does Brandy who likely has a choreographer for her performances). Kyle or Bristol should have won–both are amateurs who became wonderful dancers. Can’t complain though since I did not vote.
I think it would be interesting to have a dwts season with just the professionals completing (but I digress).

Posted on November 24, 2010 at 3:55pmSeeing someone who was professionally trained, like Grey, win this competition is exactly why I’m not interested in watching it going forward. What IS the point? I want to see people who are not professionally trained get in the ring with a trained dance partner and work hard to win. Think of the analogy, “Knowing a foreign language fluently and then signing up for a class in school to learn that language, even though you already know it.“ Easy ”A”? Absolutely! But was it earned? I have no interest in watching a competition (And I do use that term very loosely here) if the producers are stacking the deck. It reminds me of old TV game shows giving out the answers to certain contestants who were popular with the public so they could boost ratings. There are so many people who say that the show lost credibility based on Bristol Palin and her accomplishments. I say the show lost credibility when a trained dancer won the competition instead of people who were there to really compete with no professional training and running on the drive to succeed.

Poor Bristol has exceeded even the venom the DemocRATs spewed at George Bush. The LEFT are truly a bunch of deranged, hate-filled Maggots who would love to destroy the entire Palin family. It is truly sickening. As for Bristol, she is a WINNER and no one can take that away from her. Congratulations, Bristol and best of luck in all future endeavors.

Report Post »Ultimately, this entire episode was important because it showed the absolute intolerance by the Left of anyone being able to vote for what they want. And it shows the violent tendencies of the Left who threatened Bristol‘s life and forced the show to add security because the Left can’t stand dissent whether it’s Bristol Palin or Barack Obama.
Bristol still won because she is the one everyone was talking about and she helped to expose the hatred, intolerance and danger that is the Progressive Liberal movement.

Posted on November 24, 2010 at 10:31amI am disappointed with ABC on having a performer and dancer on DWTS. Jennifer Grey has been dancing since the age of 4, she starred in Dirty Dancing. Because she had an accident further in her life that became an impediment to her dancing career, DWTS became ‘rehab’ for her. Every single week she came and complained about her injuries and the pain it caused her during practice. It was a given that she had nothing to prove to us but to herself. With her talent already established, she won on account of a 12-week rehabilitation. The true winners are Kyle and Bristol!

I don’t “hate” the Palins. Calling people hicks isn’t “hating” them. Based on the overall tone of your post, I dare say that YOU are the hater. And if you think a person can’t be a true conservative if they are against Gov. Palin, you’re of the same mentality as people who cry “racist” when The Vengislator is criticized. The Palins are a flash in the pan, and their 15 minutes will hopefully be up soon.

Report Post »The show isn’t called “Dancing with the Celebrities”. It is obviously misnamed. “Hick” is not at all akin to a racial slur. See, here‘s what people like you don’t seem to get: A person’s skin color or gender is not a choice, and should not be criticized per se. A person’s lifestyle, e.g., being a hick or a queer, IS a choice, and can rightly be critcized all day long without neccessarily hating the person. I don‘t suspect you’ll be intellectually honest enough to acknowledge this.

Posted on November 25, 2010 at 4:43amHuck: How many real “stars” by your definition would be on the show? As potential titles for the show, “Dancing with Celebrities”, or the more accurate “Dancing With People Who Have Been Mentioned At Least Once On Entertainment Tonight” don’t exactly roll off the tongue.
Most of the people who end up on the show are either Has-beens, or reality show losers who just weren’t content with their allotted fifteen minutes of fame. But, stangely enough, every season, a few of them turn out to be darned good dancers, and it’s pretty entertaining to watch it happen.
Somehow, I don’t think Bogey or Marilyn Monroe would be good candidates for the show. You know, since they’re dead. And since it could be difficult to find 15 or so has-beens who were once big enough to be considered “stars” by your definition, and current stars like Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts are too busy in their primary profession to take 3 months off to learn to dance like professionals, the show’s producers fill in some of the slots with celebreties.
Sorry if that doesn’t meet with your approval. I guess millions of viewers are wrong. Or not.
