British Muslim Minister Implores Christians: Be ‘Proud’ of Your Faith

Christians Should Stop Downgrading Christianity Says British Muslim Minister

Baroness Sayeeda Warsi

Britain’s first Muslim female Cabinet member has encouraged Christians in the U.K. to stand up more for their religion in a move that appears aimed at creating interfaith dialogue and promoting the protection of Christian minorities abroad.

In a weekend editorial of the Daily Telegraph, Baroness Sayeed Warsi, co-chair of the ruling Conservative Party in the U.K, wrote that the British people need to foster an environment in their home country where they can be:

“…unashamedly proud of their faith – where they don’t feel that they have to leave religion at the door. That means being proud of Christianity, not downgrading it.”

Lady Warsi went on to write that the murder of the only Christian member of Pakistan’s parliament last March highlighted the urgent need for interfaith dialogue. She further explained her view that religious tolerance is a means to strengthen all beliefs in her editorial, writing that, “For many years, I have been saying that the stronger we are as a Christian nation, the more understanding we will be of other faiths.”

Christian in both Muslim-majority countries continue to suffer through murders, church burnings, and vicious, ongoing persecution.

    This message will fall on deaf ears on both sides. The muslim community is in thrall to the radicals, and dares not speak out. Meanwhile the Europeans are suppressed and hectored by the Socialist Left, which has long sought to destroy Christianity in the first place. Socialist policies have successfully separated Europeans from Christianity to the point that it has nearly died out in Europe. Radical Islam will fill that vacuum as Socialism is discredited as being intellectually bankrupt.

    What I say to all Muslims, “If you don’t like Christainty, go to a Muslim country where you can practice your religion 24-7 with no interference from the likes of us. After all, look at the evils you have brought upon us. As far as I’m concerned, you absolutely hate freedom, which by the way, is the reason our forefathers died. What a gift they gave to us. So all American start standing up for your freedom and quit buying into their BULL!!!!

      Except her brand of Islam is a peaceful one, which is only possible in Christian countries. That’s why she wants Christians to stick up for their faith. Christianity made a more tolerant and freer islam possible, and if Christianity weakens then there won’t be any room for her brand of Islam. Doubtless she can’t say what I just said, even if she agrees. but it is the rtuth nonetheless.

      But another fact is that her brand of westernized, or Christianized, Islam is proof to the radicals of what a great Satan we in the West are, because we tempt Muslims to be “less Muslim”.

      God bless her but she may be speaking into the wind.

    As a Christian, my actions/lifestyle/etc should make it plain that I follow Christ’s example. For any advocating not being open about our faith, one has only to look at the scripture relating that we are not called to live safely, but courageously. We are not meant to hide our faith in order to protect ourselves. We are to live so that WHEN we are cut down for our faith, it is a witness to others who witness our Christ-like attitude and come to a saving knowledge of him.
    Having also served in the military, I am willing to die for what I believe in and care for. I will do all within my power to bring others to the spiritual safety of a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. If I can’t do that and be subtle at the same time, then I’ll sound the trumpet until my blood is spilled and my last breath is spent.

      Who kills more innocent civilians, including children, Israelis or Palestinians? Hint: It’s not even close. Answer: Israelis.
      Who had the first modern terrorist groups in the 20th century? Hint: Not Muslims or Palestinians.
      Answer: Jews. The Irgun, Stern Gang, Haganah. (Jews held the record for most civilians killed in a terrorist act, for decades).
      What’s worse, a suicide bomber carrying at most 50lbs of explosives, or a 500 pound bomb, or anti-personnel cluster bomb? Hint: Palestinians do not posses the latter.

      Burning the israeli flag is an expression of anti-israeli illigal occupation and a political expression. religion is not the issue but tyranical illigal seizing of land[during the 67 war] Though prior to the 67 war muslims warred against the state of israel[it was created at their expense by european interlopers back when the UN was a colonialists club] today opposition is about the annexation of land in 67.       Gen 12:2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
      Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

      Here God is speaking to Abraham promising to make his offspring a great nation. Those who bless Israel shall be blessed those that curse Israel shall be cursed. Look at the history of Great Britain. They were blessed until they turned against Israel. The same is happening here in the US. Our government is turning it’s back on Israel and and we are starting to reap the negative results of this betrayal.

    I am sorry and I do not mean to step on anyone’s toes but if you believe in the Holy Bible then you cannot believe in Islam. It plainly states in scripture that God is the truth, the light, and the way and no one comes to the Father but by me. That means that no one can come to God, because God cannot look upon sin, except first coming to Jesus first to have your sins taken away so that you can come to God. That is the whole purpose Jesus came to earth and became a man, to take on the sins of the world so we can all be forgiven. Islam does not offer that, nor does any other religion. Christianity has endured for thousands of years because it has more witnesses to the truth of miracles than any other religion. What other man took on the sins of the world on the cross, died for our sins, was dead in the grave, raised up to walk the earth for all to see as God, then taken back into heaven to reclaim his throne. Many millions witnessed his greatness and testified to it. We must come to God before anything else if we wish to have eternal life with him in the future….

    I can believe the ignorance I’m seeing here. “Oh, she’s a muslim, so I automatically disagree with whatever she says!” Christians in the West are cowardly and lazy! If we really cared, there would be outrage over what is happening to our brothers and sisters around the world. The real church in this world is thriving under persecution, as it always has. It is alive and well in India, Egypt, Iran, N. Korea, China, etc. Here and in Europe it is dying. We are spoiled children.

      I agree with the spoiled statement. Reminds me of the OT warnings (stories by example) of the newly freed Isrealites who just after days, started to complain… OR Jeremiah saying His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge /Wrong was right in their eyes, etc… My husband has been speaking up at work -saying he has as much right to not be offended as a Christian as the squawing left has of saying they are offended…Guesss what? He’s finding support!!!! This is at a “party school” liberal State University!

    Well if the US is any example of what happens when you stand up for Christianity, I can‘t even imagine what it’s like in the UK were you have Muslim zones that law enforcement will not enter, and where you have members of Parliament allowing shariah law to be used in Brittish courts, and where the Archbishop himself is more than willing to accept and make way for Islam. Here in thre States,we’re penalized for praying before football games, fighting for the right to display crosses in deserts, and wondering why the President had to have a religious symbol covered before he spoke to a university gathering.Christians don’t need to be more understanding of Islam; Muslims need to learn more about their religion. And if they don’t agree with Mohammed and what he stood for, then why are they Muslim? That brings me to the $64,000.00 question. How do “moderate” Muslims reconcile their faith to a prophet that was so violent and death-centered? And how is it that the greatest reward in the afterlife is centered around a sexual experience, and not the privilege of living eternally in a spiritual union with one’s creator. I never hear these questions asked by anyone. I wonder why.

      Can you show us where the Qu’ran teaches violence and the reward of virgins? Since it does not exist, I know you can’t do it. But I can show you that it teaches peaceful coexistence with Christians, and Jews:

We christians have symbolic imagry for heaven [a house with many rooms, the banquet of the lord and the city of God-[the new jerusale-][according to christian tradition].Those muslims were less puritanical about sex then we were [prior to the ottoman control over the mid east].

    Pride is a deadly sin. We as Christians love our faith. Big difference. And while you’re at it, look up the description of LOVE in the bible. That among many other reasons is why we support and defend our Jewish friends and Israel because they express it so well with total restraint in a world filled with hate that is attacking her constantly. I keep her and her people in my prayers daily.

      Having a firm knowledge that what you believe is true is not pride nor is it a sin. In fact, God tells us to be firm in our faith and to stand as a witness to all the world. And how can you be an effective witness unless you have a certainty in what you believe?

      Pride that is sinful is when we are allowed to be blinded by our own works that we elevate ourselves above God (as in the Humanist movement). It is also sinful to use our works and gifts to try and make ourselves out to be better than someone else (i.e. I am a better person because I am rich, or a better speaker, or a better hamburger flipper, or whatever and you are not).

      But, it is not sinful to be proud of who you are, what you believe, or for you or other’s accomplishments.

      You are correct. We should be talking about the historic attack, by Jews, on both faiths; Muslim and Christian. In this country the Jewish organization for the attack has been its ACLU (per Rabbi Lapin) and Jewish lawyers/judges. Jews are, and have been, a divisive element in societies. Divide and rule has historically been their modus operandi.
      Jews founded the NAACP, and a Jew was its president for the first seventy years. Communism was founded by a Jew. The Weather Underground’s leadership was predominantly Jewish. Eight of ten top ten atomic spies in the Rosenberg case betraying America, were Jewish. Six of the Hollywood Ten were Jews. Jews funded the Communist Revolution: See Jacob Schiff, Felix Warburg, and Otto Kahn. Jews led the Spartacist Uprising. Jews are taking down America’s economy; see Goldman Sachs, George Soros, Saul Alinsky, Frances Piven, Cass Sunstein, Ron Bloom, Andy Stern… on and on… all Jews.
