Buddy Roemer Is Still Running for President and He Wants Huntsman to ‘Quit Bitching’

Former governor of Louisiana Buddy Roemer is running for president. He’s not on any national polls, he says he’s only raised $300,000 and he gets virtually no media attention. He’s running anyway.
In an interview with Business Insider, he vented some of his frustrations about his bid for the White House. He had some fun things to say about Jon Huntsman.
On not getting invited to participate in the GOP debates:
Whenever I meet a qualification to get on stage they change it. The process has been specifically tailored to keep me out. But I’ve raised $300,000 with no PAC money, no Super-PAC help. I‘m amazed at how far we’ve come with this little exposure.
On Huntsman‘s lack of ’guts’:
I got a word for Jon Huntsman: do something! Quit bitching and lead. You got a Super-Pac. The only way you can win is get a billion dollars from your daddy? Grow up!
He‘s a decent guy but he doesn’t have the guts to stand with me. Let me repeat that: he doesn’t have the guts to do it.
He also tweeted this thoughtful response to Herman Cain‘s announcement Saturday that he would suspend his presidential campaign:

During a debate in early August, Cain quoted a line from a song featured in a Pokemon movie. He attributed the quote simply to “a poet.”

Posted on December 5, 2011 at 11:04amMr. Roemer is a total fool. (just like obama). I wouldn’t put him in charge of cleaning an airport toilet. I guess that means he is the next POTUS.

Posted on December 4, 2011 at 4:05pmBuddy kicks ass! Love the guy!! Refuses PAC $$, and limits donations to $100. Talks the talk and walks the walk. More than any of the other candidates can say. They’re all bought and sold by the big corporate checks. (And, in Huntsman’s case, his daddy’s deep pockets.)

Posted on December 4, 2011 at 4:07pmI adore Buddy! Only reason they won’t invite him to the network sponsored debates is because he speaks the truth about corruption. Our corporate-run media doesn’t want his voice in the debate.

Posted on December 4, 2011 at 11:17amHe was one of the worse governors we ever had in La. I don’t know why he thinks he can be President. He can stand toe to toe with O’bama in debates. HE IS A TALKER. One of the best. He can not govern.

Posted on December 4, 2011 at 2:12pmRoemer balanced the budget for the first time in a decade, including measures such as cutting the work week of state employees to 36 hours and abolishing 125 boards and commissions. He passed through an education reform bill which included merit pay and teacher testing — which was overturned by the next Democratic governor — tort and insurance reform which put a greater burden on those who brought tort suits, and workers compensation reform. He created the post of state inspector general, which helped route out misuse of public funds and helped end corruption at the Louisiana Racing Commission. He passed through campaign finance reform, limiting individual contributions and contributions by PACs.
It doesn’t sound like he was all talk to me. Granted, some conservatives here might not like his efforts for campaign finance reform, and the fact that he decided spending cuts weren’t enough to balance the budget, but there’s plenty he accomplished that conservatives should like.

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 5:56pmI don’t like Huntsman. Yeah, he’s smart and in the know politically. But it takes more than that to get my vote. Besides, he’s an establishment moderate like Romney. We had one of those last time. Remember how that worked out? Forget about growin’ a pair. How about just GET OUT!

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 5:55pmOkay…, Huntsman may not combine all of the qualities that I would like in a President. Neither does anyone else. I am not beating a drum for Huntsman, I’m not that crazy about him, but here is a thoughtful column by George Will that merits reading by thoughtful people. Will fundamentally feels that relative to Romney and Gingrich, Huntsmen is more in the conservative mold. Does that mean he is electable? I don’t know. Thinking conservatives ought to at least read the article. BTW, my ticket? Santorum/Bachmann, but I would vote for almost anyone other then Obama.
