‘Burn the Koran’ Pastor Will Lead Shariah Counter-March in D.C.

Terry Jones, the small-time pastor known for stirring up big-time controversy, is at it again. The controversial Florida preacher first lit a spark when he called for people around the world to burn copies of the Muslim Quran to protest the construction of the Ground Zero mosque in New York, a call he later rescinded.  A former hotel manager, Jones, who worked as a missionary in Europe for 30 years, took over as head of the Dove World Outreach Center, a fundamentalist Christian church in Gainesville, Fla., in 1996.

Now, as Muslims are invited to demonstrate their support for Shariah law in front of the White House Thursday, Jones is headed to Washington to lead a counter-protest to “radical Islam.”

“By no means will we allow our Constitution to be attacked, our Constitution to be changed, our Constitution to be altered,” the counter-protest group’s Facebook page reads. “Let us join together in unity. Let us stand up, stand strong and speak loudly!

“Now is the time that we make a very, very clear statement to radical Islam.”

As we’ve reported, notorious UK Muslim cleric Anjem Choudary is leading a group of protesters in a march to support Islamic Shariah law for the United States. Choudary’s group plans to rally in front of the White House Thursday afternoon.

Jones is joining Stand Up America, a conservative-leaning group in marching from the Lincoln Memorial to the White House.

“It is necessary that we set very clear lines for Muslims that are here in America,” Jones says.  “They are welcome to be here. They are welcome to worship. They are welcome to build mosques. But we do expect them to honor and obey our Constitution. If they desire to change our Constitution, in other words to institute Sharia, then these Muslims are no longer welcome in our country.”

      In 1940, the Alien Registration Act, or “Smith Act”, was passed, which made it a federal crime to advocate or to teach the desirability of overthrowing the United States Government, or to be a member of any organization which does the same.

      I don’t see why these people are not arrested under this Federal law. It is obvious that they are advocating for these things. Send a tip into the FBI for these people to be arrested under the Smith act for the advocating of Sedition in this country!

      They are not arrested because the executive branch (DOJ) is the enforcer of all federal laws — look who you have enforcing those federal laws. Not to mention the actual senators in chair positions on the unamerican committee and the like.

    Well, I thought this pastor had gone a bit off the deep end for attracting all the wrong kind of attention with the Koran burning stunt, but I appreciate him for this one. Someone needs to counter-protest something as deeply offensive to American core values and Constitutional law as Shariah “law”.

I say; “There are 10 new Islamic Warriors born every minute” – That describes the gist of our situation, we are held to a higher standard to effect our demise and that standard is PC. We are being invaded by the virus Islam and infected with fear and that fear is fear itself, America‘s own government gone wild with obsessions of World Domination Grandeur with absolute power corrupted absolutely but the American Government has damned and condemned it’s own ‘We The People’ to the point of anal exams at airports with intrusions while robbing them at the same time.       The first time i heard him talk about the burning the Koran i disagreed with him for being ignorant. then i learned the history of Islam. i encourage you all to do the same. Watch the documentary. Islam: what the west needs to know. apparently there is much more to the story then most Muslims would like us to believe.

      Seems like to me, that they want us to be tired. They want us to be angry. They want to drive us out into the streets, to react to them, with anger. They want us to be unstable. To be caught doing something against them. It will help them pave their way. They will say, see they are just angry… and therefor evil.

      I know there has to be a better way to go about handling these march’s/riots. But how, I have not figured out yet.

      Let the hotheads spew if they want. Keep you wits about you. Remember to be still and know that God is God. Keep your values, and vote for leaders who will uphold them. Beck hasn’t said it so often of late, but we DO outnumber them. And from our position of strength, we can look down at all the hotheads and be happy for their freedom to spout, then go about being productive people knowing our very productivity is a means of standing up for what we believe. The American way–freedom–is seductive and successful. Within a few short generations, almost all groups of immigrants have assimilated to it, and have promoted it to the exclusion of their former ties. This is not to say there’s nothing worth fighting for, and that freedom and the idea of America aren’t challenged every day. Of course freedom must be continually fought for. But you‘re quite right that the fight isn’t in the protest, it’s in the elections, in the homes, in the individuals, in the prayers, in the hearts of the people striving to change themselves for the better individually. In my belief system and yours, this is impossible without Christ, but He tends to intervene when individuals with a desire to change initiate. Sounds to me like you’re almost there: just a slightly higher perspective and you’ve nailed it.

      Please tell me where the Tea Party is treating these people “like garbage” in a real life scenario. Nonetheless fighting and “pushing each other”. Please provide me a link or any proof of this?       Please reconsider your thoughts on the Tea party and what it is TRULY about. You speak of God. And 99 out of 100 Tea Party members will speak with you. We’re about turning to God to steer this country and, by example, the world back towards Him and His glory.

      But, if you think about it. The Sharia guys and this Pastor are doing the same things that are against what Christ teaches.

      Which is: Force-ably or trying to force the hand of people to do what they deem is right. Sharia does it by fear. Pastor does it by ultimatums.

      Christ teaches that we must learn on our own. And anyone who takes away their free agency to make those choice’s is against God/Jesus divine plan for individual salvation.

      Well, until you do find it, appearing in public in large numbers is all we have going for us. Writing and calling our congressmen won’t do any good. They have no control over what happens in the D.C.

      In all of the clips Glenn showed tonight both sides were yelling at each other. You can hear “shame” from the people who are standing there as people cross the street. No wonder it provoked the guy to ram someone.

      I mean come on… I’m a tea party supporter all the way. But if your going to go to a protest and yell at other people as they walk by, and expect them to smile at you and walk away… when it’s the left your dealing with… and your SHOCKED when someone ram’s someone. Really? Shocked?

      This is the EXACT ATTITUDE which my parents generation showed when the peace of WWII was signed, and why they supported the Cease Fire, in Korea, and the Peace Talks on Viet Nam.
      All it did was let this country get infiltrated with many who thought it was evil, Didn’t help us at all on 9-11, Did It?
      If we would have a GREAT NATION, we must be WILLING to work to keep it, for there are many out there who DON’T LIKE IT, AND THEY WOULD SEE IT CONQUERED, WHAT THEY CAN’T DO ON THE BATTLE FIELD, THEY’VE COME CLOSE TO SUCCEEDING AT THE BALLOT BOX; NOW WE MUST FIGHT ( RHETORICALLY) FOR ALL THE YEARS WE SIMPLY WERE TOO TIRED!!

      It’s fine. I don’t mind if people disagree with me. That’s OK! But I want to point out that in-fighting is not the answer here! It only spokes the flames. It weakens us as people and as individuals. So when the real fight begins we will be too weak, too tired to continue to hold our guard!

      Protest if you must. I have no problems with that. But do it in a manner that honors this country, not destroys it’s beliefs!

I just think protesting is an emotional expression, NOT an effective “fight” against the kind of moral relativism and mushy middle-road “moderate” idiocy that you are quite right to be opposed to. We all have to take our sides and stand up for what we believe in, because sitting on the fence is all the anti-liberty crowd needs to win. But if you think attending a protest is doing anything more than making yourself feel good about “standing up” for something, then may I suggest you reconsider, please? Some have no faith in calling or writing a congressman, but I still believe it works (especially with a mixed house/senate set-up like we have now!), and beyond that, putting yourself up for leadership positions in your local community can afford you the chance to affect the opinions of fence-sitters, to convince them with logic and reason, rather than to goad them with emotion. There’s a lot you can do, just be creative, and live your conservative values.

      Thanks for the good words and advice, perhaps I’m giving a wrong impression, Would I could attend many of these protests, but, am financially and physically unable to do much more than the call to my Congressman, (Senator sends a form letter if I call or write him telling me, he appreciates my input, but disagrees, so he’s {basically) going to do what he wants and don’t bother him.) I send many e-mails and work on-line to show my support for the values so many in my family have risked their lives to pass down to me, my children, and now my grandchildren. There came a day when I realized that the libs and progs had their paid trolls, (before I’d heard of the name.) and at least I could join the Bucket Brigade to help tamp out forest fires, which they are trying to start among conservatives, and to encourage my fellow conservatives who are more fit than I that they are not alone, there are possibly millions of us who only can “sponsor” tea bags on tax day, but can participate in polls, and help their cause in whatever way available.

      I DO think that hanging out with like-minded people can help recharge the batteries, and you never know when your way of expressing something, even to a fellow-traveler, may inspire them to bring someone new into the fold, so to speak, so I guess I should back down a bunch on my attitude too. It’s not that protests accomplish nothing but emotional self-congratulation. You’re right.
      I just think on the spectrum of helping conservative principles win the day, convincing individuals has a lot more chance of effectiveness than protesting as a group does.
      With that said, if I ever decide to attend a protest in support of conservative values, I’d be happy to do so alongside someone like you, with a good lock on the historical perspective that the Left has lost, and a principled urgency behind their passion on behalf of morality and liberty, rather than the obvious and nakedly self-serving emotions the Left protests with, which rapidly turns into blatant negativity, anger, and even violence. Quite the distinction between the two.

      Don’t worry, there are many of us that never get tired. You are right… the protests and yelling are worthless. Punching a lib. commie (or Boker0101) in the mouth, doesn’t solve anything.

      I love your passion, but your understanding of the very BASICS of the principles of freedom and America has a long way to catch up.
      We have cults in the US who TEACH all kinds of illegal things: drug use, multiple spouses, etc.
      When they TEACH it, we leave them alone. When they PRACTICE it, we haul their tails off to jail.
      If a government can ban a religion for what it TEACHES, then NO ONE has freedom of thought.
      You are RIGHT to oppose Islam, and especially radical Islam because of what it teaches. But if you want to do it by govt force, it’s going to backfire and you will probably be in jail before they will, trust me.

      I have to respectfully disagree here.
      This is smoke and mirrors. The constitution is not under threat by shari’a law or by radical Islam. the first talks loud but carries no electoral stick. The second attacks our security and interests, but only makes us hold on to our constitution tighter.
      What the real danger is, is leftist legislators who would allow “tolerance” to trump sanity by mission creep, and make exceptions for Muslims until the constitution has no real hold on them anymore.
      But to accept the premise that radical Islam is a threat to the constitution is to attack the wrong enemy and misunderstand the true nature of the political war we’re engaged in.
      Plus it makes everyone look foolish to be seen with this loon.
      I’m all for standing up for American values, but counter-protesting an already inconsequential gathering is not the best way, or even the right venue.
      Although, in general, whenever you’re doing something that makes the press and the Left (hmm…was that redundant?) point their fingers at you in scorn, it means you’re doing the right thing.

      In 1940, the Alien Registration Act, or “Smith Act”, was passed, which made it a federal crime to advocate or to teach the desirability of overthrowing the United States Government, or to be a member of any organization which does the same.

      I think that if they want to change the Constitution then they will have to convince a 2/3 majority of the State legislators to follow them and I don’t think that they have a chance at that right now.       I just had a nice old lady today tell me that on sept 11, as the planes crashed into our towers that she walked outside because she heard cheering. She lives in an area with a lot of muslims. She said they had their arms in the air and were shouting and cheering because America was attacked. The good muslims better hurry up and separate themselves from their radical muslims soon. I’ve seen footage of the riots in Europe and the Middle East, this is an Islamic uprising against us the west and all Zionists. I see why these Jihadist’s are disgusted with us for our immorality but I believe they have the same worldly issues. They were shouting in victory.       I disagree with you and your post shows your misunderstanding of the power of our judicial system. Yes, we are engaged in a political war over the constitution, and yes that entails the corruption by the legislative branch. However, our third branch of government, the judicial, is under attack by sharia law. Our Supreme Court has already been seen quoting and citing foreign law in their domestic decisions. Now we have a religion (or fanatics for those with sensitive ears) that wishes to infiltrate their existing LAW into ours. This is not about creating new laws on the books my friend, their desire is to overcome our existing laws with their existing law. Existing law is something interpreted by the courts, not the legislative branch. Therefore, for you to claim that this is all smoke and mirrors shows your ignorance to the power and role of the judiciary. Once sharia law is cited in judicial opinions to justify the judges ruling in cases against muslims is the day you can kiss the judicial branch goodbye.

      Please give more considerate thought to ALL the threats our constitution faces, not just the ones in domestic politics.
