Bus Driver Resigns After ‘Hit and Run’…of a Snowman

NBC reports a bus driver Champaign-Urbana, Illinois abruptly resigned after a meeting to discuss this:

Here’s the full video:

It’s unclear of the driver broke any rules or laws by hitting the snowman, or even if he did so intentionally. A transit spokeswoman refused to comment.

    Find Mama‘s and Daddy’s little darlins, take away their driver licenses, show them educational films about traffic fatalities and put them on snow removal services with their own li’l snow shovels for a week–in the middle of the street.

    Pray for the snow mans family. On the other hand the snow man needed to look both ways. although he was a mexican illegal snowman that most likely didn’t play into it.

    Where were the kids parents? The bus driver was doing the public a favor. Who knows what could have been in the snowman? To hit that kind of weight going at 30 MPH would cause a good bit of damage. I guess that’s what the kids were looking for.

    These kids set this up intentionally to watch it get hit. It was all in good fun, however it was a dangerous stunt. The bus driver should not resign, but these kids should be cited for causing a potential dangerous situation, as well as premeditated murder of the snowman.

    I dont think he should be fired or should have quit,

    However, With out knowing what was IN the snowman, he but the bus at risk of damage, I know a few years back a bunch of kids were putting Bricks and or Damaging items in Leaf Piles and Snow Mounds that that placed in or next to the road and motorist impacted these items sometimes at a good pace (30 mph +) and cause some pretty good accidents

    a smart bus driver, getting that ROADBLOCK of a chunk of snow / safety hazard OUT of the roadway. had we been in any of our worktrucks we would have done the same thing. no doubt he saw the car have to go around it into the oncoming lane, and took action himself to safely remove that CHUNK OF SNOW that could have caused a SERIOUS accident. those damn laughing kids could have MURDERED someone.

    His blinker was on, he clearly intended to hit it, but I don’t think it was malicious. What was malicious was the prank of building a snowman in the middle of the road in the dark. Clearly indicated by the car that was coming from the other direction having to slow down, and then navigate around the snowman, I believe the bus driver was simply removing the obstacle from the road. Quite frankly, I don’t think he/she should have quit their job, but was probably pressured in the meeting. The losers filming the whole thing obviously are involved in the placement of the snowman in the road, if not directly (sorry, at work and don’t have audio on my computer). They should be charged with obstructing traffic.

      My guess is that driving a bus is a bad enough job, and this was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Nobody would drive a school bus these days, if there was absolutely any option at all. Its combat duty.

      Oh great, now we will have to have a Snowman Czar in the administration fighting for the rights of the snowmen everywhere in the nation; and of course that blasted ‘Global Warming’ garbage must be real in their own delusional minds or such suicidal snowmen would not be jumping in front of buses to prostest the catastrophic changes man is inflicting in the world…

Perhaps it is genius, perhaps they have been touched by God, but if you want the truth listen to those people who, although without formal education in science, know that the Earth is too large to ever be polluted to a degree that harms humans, and that God’s will is to support those who enrich themselves. He has said “I will not destroy the Earth again.” We should not question God, and we should recognize the truth.
