Bush Golfs with Vets and FOX for Charity

“Take a deep breath.” That was former President George W. Bush’s advice to FOX host Brian Kilmeade as he teed off for the Patriot Golf Day, the flagship fundraiser for the Folds of Honor Foundation that provides postsecondary educational scholarships for the children and spouses of military men and women disabled or killed while serving the country.
The former president, who’s been careful to stay out of the public eye, was joined by a group of veterans including Heath Calhoun, a paralympian who received the Purple Heart from Bush while he was still president.
But Bush’s first tee shot mirrored his final years in office: rough. Displeased and prepared, he quickly pulled out another ball from his pocket, set it down, and hit another shot, which fared better than the first.
The local Waco, TX paper reports that the country club where the former president played, Ridgewood Country Club, didn’t expect any delays due to the extra security. Preparations, said James Williams Jr., PGA head golf pro at Ridgewood, will not be “much more than we normally do every day.”
Cost of membership to the country club accustomed to presidential-style security was unavailable on its website.

Posted on September 3, 2010 at 5:26pmBush made some major mistakes, but he is an honorable man and a class act when it comes to our troops and love for country. No signs of honor or love for country coming from our current administration.

Posted on September 3, 2010 at 5:00pmI commend the president and those of you on the green there, indeed a worthy cause! Thank you for the work you’re all doing for the fighting men and woman of our great land.
My favorite quotes of the video… because they are just so pure WIN!
Kilmead: “It’s good to be the president…”
Bush: “Yeah…”
LOL, I think he meant a couple of things by that reply…

Posted on September 3, 2010 at 3:54pmI miss the genuine nature of Pres Bush. He may not have been the best president in the world but at least I felt like he was sincere and always TRIED to do the right thing. The results can and will be debated forever.

Posted on September 3, 2010 at 3:19pmWhen Obama says do we want to go in reverse? I say, “back it on in here”. I’m trying to get all my ducks in a row to help turn back this country.
I’m carefully choosing companies that fit my standards and would like to alert any and all who have insurance policies with a company,You know who they are. They’re the ones with the clever television ads featuring the perky brunette actress all dressed in white, so helpful, who run thousands of commercials a year? The owner of that company has funneled 30 million dollars or more since 2001 to the ACLU, Moveon.org, SEIU and other left leaning entities. They are very competitive, but I‘m not sure it’s worth it. I guess we all have to take a stand somewhere. We may never change their hearts and minds, but we can change their bottom line.

Posted on September 3, 2010 at 8:43pmAmen to that! Glenn this is a great site! I am so proud that we have so many Americans waking up and getting back to the basics of what this great country is meant to be! Thanks to President Bush who gave us years of leadership with class, vision, sense of pride in our country and what being American is all about. Thanks to all who have served, and are still serving now, in keeping us safe! I can’t tell you how much each of you service members mean to me and how proud I am of each and every one of you! We can get America back on track with faith, hope and charity…that is sincere and from the heart. Love thy neighbor and love of country! Thanks again so much to you all!

Posted on September 4, 2010 at 2:53pmGW may have vacationed now and again, but at least he had the foresight to *go to his own ranch*. The Secret Service and various towns didn’t have to over prepare and freak out when all he did was go home…you know, unlike the Obamas’ and their vay-kays to multiple cities and countries.

Report Post »Really now. If you are THAT bitter that GWB is sorely missed and yes revered, maybe you should pull up ABC, NBC, CBS, or MSNBC and read “their” news or should i say their opinions (not facts). It’s sad to see the disregard and total disrespect this administration has for America AND its people. Glad to see millions finally seeing what some of us saw two years ago!

Posted on September 5, 2010 at 9:35am“W” is probably the kind of guy who’d make a terrific next-door neighbor, but I believe history will show the irreparable harm he did to the Constitutional, economic and big-government values of America.
Report Post »It’s taken someone so bad as Obama, to make Bush seem much better than he really was, at least to some of us.
