Rev. Billy Graham Drops by G.W. Bush Book-Signing in North Carolina

(AP) — The Rev. Billy Graham rarely appears in public these days, but a visit from former President George W. Bush is enough to bring him out.

Hundreds of people lined up at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte on Monday for a chance to get Bush and former first lady Laura Bush to sign copies of their books.

Graham and his son, Franklin, had lunch with the Bushes before the book signing.

The evangelist, who was in a wheelchair, hugged the former president before leaving the Bushes in the library book store for the signings. The Bushes did not take questions from reporters.

Franklin Graham says his 92-year-old father is as sharp as he’s been in the past few years.

Like attracts like. Rev. Graham is the closest thing to a Saint that America has ever known. The difference in ethical character between Bush and Obama can’t be more obvious. The ethical character difference between Rev. Wright and Rev. Billy Graham can’t be more obvious, either.

Billy Graham is a true disciple of Jesus Christ. He took Jesus’ Great Commission to heart & when he meets our Lord, he will be told, “Well done, good & faithful servant!” He brought so many lost & hurt souls to the Lord, & is most humble & gracious, giving credit solely to God. George W. Bush had his faults, but he loved our Country, our Soldiers & our people. Thank God he was president when 9/11 happened.

Rev. Graham has ministered to US Presidents since Eisenhower. He is clearly the most significant spiritual leader of the last 50 years. He has definitely impacted US history through his ministry.

Billy Graham is a legend. Any who get a chance to visit with him before he leaves this world are privileged. He is one of the few religious icons who has lived a virtually scandal-free life. I think he is a great man and a lot of posts in this thread are exremely disrespectful to a man who deserves respect regardless of your religious preference.

He was born in an obscure village , the child of a peasant woman . Until He was thirty , he worked in a carpenter shop and then for three years He was an intinerant preacher . He wrote no books . He held no office . He never owned a home . He was never in a big city . He never traveled two hundred miles from the place He was born . He never did any of the things that usually accompany greatness . The authorities condemned His teachings . His friends deserted Him . One betrayed Him to His enemies for a paltry sum . One denied Him . He went through the mockery of a trial . He was nailed on a cross between two thieves . While He was dying , His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He ever owned on earth ; His coat . When he was dead He was taken down and placed in a borrowed grave . Nineteen centuries have come and gone , yet , today He is the crowning glory of the human race , the adored leader of hundreds of millions of the earth’s inhabitants . All the armies that ever marched and all the navies that that were ever assembled and all the parliaments that ever sat , COMBINED , have not affected the life of man on earth so profoundly as that ONE SOLITARY LIFE

to the point: How nice! Thank you for that. Jesus Christ was a remarkable God-man who came among us. When I think of how much Jesus suffered for us, and that He could have called for an end to suffering at any moment and did not, I hold Him in utter awe. Though people try to make light of what He accomplished, that does not change what He did. He is still Lord, He is still SAVIOR, and He is THE SON OF GOD. No other religion can boast such a Lord, or such a RESURRECTED SAVIOR. Christmas is a time to reflect on the Baby in the manger, but it is also a time to remember the RISEN CHRIST. Though many want to pretend that it is not Jesus Birthday this month, it doesn’t change a thing…it is His Birthday, and WE WILL CELEBRATE. Merry Christmas!!! :)

There are people that should not be allowed to comment about anything and the person that calls themselves(Sinista Mace)is one of them.George Bush was not one of the Greatest Presidents but compared to the other two people that ran agsnist him he was an Angel,so what choice did we have.If either John Kerry or Al Gore had been elected we would no longer be a Nation,
We all need to get on our knees and thank God for Billy Graham, this Man of God has led millions of people to Salvation that might other wise have missed the mark and i thank God and i know millions of others thank God for him and his Wife Ruth and all of their Children that continue to bring people to Salvation through their work for God.We must all continue to Pray for his Son Franklin and his efforts to continue his Fathers Ministry,we must continue to support the ministry, our Country depends on Franklin Graham and others like him so lets continue to Pray for these men of God.
    Thank You

What a wonderful surprise for the Bushs. Billy Graham has been such a wonderful part of alot of our lives and the Bush family in particular. So happy he was able to get out and visit. Karl Rove and Laura Bush‘s books are amazing and I’m on to G.W.’s next. While I didn’t agree with some of the Bush policy, these books have been a fascinating look into the office of the president, especially after 9/11 and visits with our troops. The love the Bushs’ have for our troops and this country is unending – a far cry from the poor excuse currently serving as Commander in Chief.

“KL”…I have often wondered, NOW that we‘ve learned of the total corruption in the congress and its’ control by outside sources (Soros), if Bush was held “captive” by them after 2006 because it was the only way he could negotiate money to support our troops…no one could/can ever argue his passion for our military…did he cave to the progressive’s demands in order to get what our boys needed?…also, could never understand why he didn’t close our borders…however, on 9/11, George made me proud to be an American and you are correct…he embodies humility!

INDEPENDENTVOTERIL, the current president has none of those. If someone else doesn‘t write it on the teleprompter he can’t put a cogent sentence together; he lies so there is no honesty there; and honor, where is that? He hasn’t done anything honorable, only apologize to every thug in the world and drag the US through the mud. Not many give Bush a pass on some of his policies but he loves this country and the troops.
