Busted Again: VA Planned Parenthood Worker Coaches Fake Pimp on Underage Abortions

The anti-abortion group Live Action has released a new video as a follow-up to its undercover “pimp” video from earlier this week. The new video shows another sting-style operation, this one at a Planned Parenthood facility in Virginia.
The facility’s worker can be heard coaching the actor on the ways minors — especially his underage sex workers — can go about “bypassing” the laws if they need an abortion. The most shocking part? The worker admits the facility facilitates about two such abortions a month:
“Planned Parenthood’s problems go far beyond New Jersey. Our new video shows their Richmond clinic willing to aid and abet the sexual exploitation of minors and coaching a pimp about how girls as young as 14 – 15 could circumvent parental consent laws for secret abortions,” Live Action President Lila Rose said in a statement. “Watch the video – the clinic worker admits they do this ‘once or twice a month.’ Our investigations of 12 clinics in the past four years show a pattern of Planned Parenthood’s willingness to cover-up the sexual abuse of minors and young women.”
Rosa sent a letter to Virginia Attorney General Kenneth T. Cuccinelli this morning calling for an investigation.
“This morning [Thursday], Live Action released undercover video footage that we believe is evidence that Planned Parenthood in Virginia aids and abets the sexual abuse and prostitution of minors,” she writes, before continuing that “it appears that blatant violations of Virginia law may well be occurring at Planned Parenthood facilities and affiliates in the state.”
“So long as Planned Parenthood operates in such a reckless manner, young women and girls in Virginia are at risk of forced abortion and sexual exploitation,” she added.
The group’s earlier video shows a Planned Parenthood worker in New Jersey offering similar advice but also suggesting ways the “pimp” can run his prostitution ring. The video led to that worker’s firing on the same day it was released.
The new video can be viewed in its full form here.

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 10:56amHow about putting a little context behind the story. Just how many PP offices did they get ran out of before they found one sympathetic to their request? The media would have you believe that every single office in every single community operates like this, when in fact they do not. Another case of the media blowing an isolated incident into a widespread epidemic.

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 11:04amIt only take one office like one bad apple to spoil the whole barrel. Would you defend a major corparation that recieved most of it’s money from tax payers if one of their managers practiced discrimination when hiring and firing twice a month. And by the way the Richmond office said they send 14 and 15 year old to an abortion clinic without parental consent once or twice a month, how many of those do you think might be working in the sex industry.

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 11:13amMy complaint is merely against the media. I do not support the actions of this one office, or PP in general. I believe the media, right and left, should be held more responsible for what they report. Show me several videos or this happening in different locations and I’ll keep my mouth shut. However, they could not even qualify their findings by saying something like, “We visited 15 offices before we found one that was cooperative”. No, they throw it out there in an attempt to create some sort of hysteria, which is wrong regardless of which side of the isle it comes from.

Let’s try a reversal of your reasoning: Maybe the Richmond clinic was the very first one they entered, so they didn’t need a qualifier as you think they should have.
We can go back and forth like this all day. But I find PP clinics in two states a thousand miles apart doing the same thing is telling. Believe as you wish, of course. Time will tell, in the end, what’s really going on.

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 10:40amPP did not tell them how to “go about “bypassing” the laws if they need an abortion.” They told them that they could go to a judge to bypass parental notification. That means that they’re *following* the law, because a judge makes the decision.

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 11:25am@ C10WIN: You’re waiting for a link to what? A picture of a judge? Virginia’s justifications for judicial bypass include abuse, assault, incest, and neglect. http://www.guttmacher.org/statecenter/spibs/spib_PIMA.pdf. Pregnancy as a result of incest happens but is rare, which is why I qualified my post by saying that “some” of the “one or two” visitors a month were in that situation. That means not a lot. If you have evidence that judges are giving bypass for reasons other than those specified by law…you know, give a link.

In the NJ case PP made the claim of having notified law enforcement. I imagine they’ll make the same claim here. And, no, I won’t dispute the assertion.
In both instances, however, the PP counselor was explaining how to get things done for underage girls after the pimp implied what he was doing. And that’s where I have the problem.
Instead of excusing herself for a moment, to have someone call police while the pimp was right there, both counselors continued their respective pitches. No effort was made, on the spot, to apprehend a suspected sex trafficker of underage girls.
Imagine how much different this story might be, had PP representatives done the right thing at the right time.

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 12:58pm@ UPSTATENYCONSERVATIVE:
I think the NJ and the VA situations were very different. In NJ, the PP employee gave the “pimp” an address where he could take hypothetical minor straight for an abortion. In VA, the employee advised a process that would first get the minor alone with a counselor and then put her in front of a judge–two occasions to find out if she was being coerced. Whether the employee should have excused herself and called the police while the “pimp” was there: I’m not able to comment on that without knowing how medical privacy laws come into play and what law enforcement agencies generally think is the best way to proceed when they have no information on the identity of the possible victim and no evidence other than an oral statement that the “pimp” would no doubt claim was a joke when the police showed up.

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 11:11pmLCY the point you fail to see with your head in the sand is that they communicated that they were child trafficking. Do you have the sense to understand that this is a felony and should be reported?
Report Post »LCY
Posted on February 4, 2011 at 10:01amSpittle:
The questions I was discussing with NYConservative is whether it was legally possible for the worker to call the police in the middle of the meeting with the “pimp” rather than afterward, given that it was a confidential setting where medical privacy laws applied, and whether calling the police immediately would have been any more useful in finding the supposed victims than calling them after the “pimp” left, particularly if PP thought it was a hoax. I don’t know the answers to those questions, and I rather doubt that you do either. More precisely, I’m sure that you think you know the answers to those questions, but your certainty is probably not informed by actual knowledge.
You ask if I’m capable of comprehending whether what the hoaxers were allegedly doing was a felony that should be reported. Yes, I am. You’re probably willfully ignorant of the fact that PP reported the incidents to the FBI and wish to persist in that ignorance, but a link is below anyway. I hope you’re not too blinded by misplaced righteous and preconceived ideas to understand that a request for the feds to investigate sex trafficking of minors is, in fact, proof that PP reported sex trafficking of children, but I rather doubt that too. The University of Michigan did a study a while back showing that misinformed people are unlikely to change their opinions when presented with facts.

Sadly, you’re probably right Already the defense is out there, that two successful stings are ‘isolated incidents’. Then comes the question of how many sting attempts were failures– the usual liberal defense when they get caught doing something underhanded. They think they’re being practical when, in fact, they‘re willfully refusing to see what’s going on.
PP has about 800 clinics nationwide. How many ‘isolated incidents’, I wonder, will it take to persuade a liberal there is an institutional pattern here? Will ten occasions tell them something? A hundred, maybe?
If 799 of the 800 PP clinics got caught doing this sort of thing, I can easily imagine a liberal saying, “Well, it’s not ALL of them!”

I don’t see how this could be a matter of national defense, which is supposed to be the main reason we are taxed. I refused to have my baby killed when my life was in danger and the doctor said it needed to be done. She said I would die if I didn’t have the baby removed. I took my chances (and did a lot of praying, of coarse) because there is no way I could live with myself if I let them kill my baby. My sweet little girl is now four years old. I can’t imagine my life without her. I’m not judging those who kill their babies to save their own lives, but I certainly don’t want to contribute financially to it. As for those who are not in any type of danger from their pregnancy and just want to use abortion as birth control, well I will definitely judge that; it’s wrong!

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 10:31amThe part I don’t get, as a physician, is how PP can abandon its patients after performing surgeries.
Report Post »I have had patients come to me with complications after getting abortions at PP clinics; patients with bleeding, infections (endometritis, peritonitis, sepsis) whom I’ve had to have hospitalized for transfusions and IV antibiotics. I called several clinics, and had long discussions with the chief of my clinic’s dept. of Family Medicine and, astonished, was told that “THE LAW” protects PP from any and all liabilities connected to their procedures. ????????? I still don’t believe this, I never saw the law, but I was told at every step of the way that their liability is limited to what happens IN THEIR CLINIC, not once the patient left. I had more important things to do (like manage the care of patients injured by THEIR care) to get to the bottom of this, but I believe it’s possible and probable, that this is true. How about this fact: PP is a multi-billion dollar corporation, a fortune 500 company, but they still receive direct public (i.e. – tax-dollar) funding. Go figure.
Taquoshi
Posted on February 3, 2011 at 10:43amAmazing, simply amazing. What I think you said was their liability only covers the patient as long as they are in the building. Once the patient walks out the door, that’s it. No responsibility, no malpractice, right? Well, isn’t that special?
And one wonders how many women were permanently damaged by their birth control methods. Let’s get real here. Any doctor practicing under normal conditions would have been either stripped of his/her medical license long ago or in jail.
PP is supposed to be working in the patient’s best interest, too. That’s really, really scary.

I even recall talking to the JAG officer at the clinic I was at about this. There is, I was led to understand, a limitation placed on liability for the extent of practice at PP. I’m STILL floored by this idea that a woman can be harmed in the process of killing her unborn baby and the sequelae become, by LAW, SEP (Someone Else’s Problem). Several of these patients said they went back, or called, and were told to see their doctor for follow up. I‘ve run this by other docs I’ve worked with since (this was about five years ago) and have been told very matter of fact “you didn’t know this?”

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 3:32pmThis was far from coaching a pimp. any half brained defense lawyer will get anyone charged in this case off with the ability to counter sue for defamation of character. I watched the video, she wasn’t coaching and like she said, most if not all the information she provided is found on their website or on the web in general. Would the PP employee prefer that this “Pimp” take the 14 year olds to a dark alley to get a street level abortion? There are reasons for minors to want to get an abortion without their parents knowing. it’s not the PP employees responsibility to judge their profession but to provide the women or girls a safe opportunity to solve their current problem.
I understand you are all mostly pro-lifers here and I appreciate your beliefs. I’m a pro-choice because I believe the girls body is still her body, even if there’s a fetus growing inside of her. It’s sucking down her nutrients. It’s up to her if she wishes to keep or terminate that relationship with the fetus. Perhaps if they come up with an abortion procedure that allows for the fetus to be removed alive and be able to transplant that fetus into another woman, I’d be all for supporting that as well. I guarantee if they do have that process it’d be more expensive then the standard abortion. Who’s going to pay for it? If the woman doesn’t want the baby, I think it‘s safe to assume she’ll choose the cheaper option. If you pro-lifers are willing to dole out your own tax dollars to pay for this procedure, feel free.

I get the impression from your post that you don’t have a problem with a man allegedly trafficking 14 and 15 year old girls. The main point of the video is that PP isn’t reporting these heinous crimes against young girls and is providing information on how to circumvent laws.
As to the comment about abortion I find it interesting that you yourself can see the separation between the fetus and the woman. “…even if there’s a fetus growing inside of her. It’s sucking down her nutrients. It’s up to her if she wishes to keep or terminate that relationship with the fetus.” The argument that it’s her body, she can do what she wants is erroneous and you don’t believe it yourself. It’s her body and the fetus inside her. Abortion is legal form of destroying a living entity. Some would call that murder, others call it healthcare.

The “pimp” never implied that he was trafficing anyone underage. Hell, the way he was speaking, he could have really meant he might have a cousin that needs an abortion. He never even expressed that he was a pimp or they were talking about prostitution. As far as the PP employee could have been concerned, they were in the Porno Filming industry. We all just make assumptions on the video based on our own individual prejudices. Who knows what the employee thought. The point I’m making is, if this employee was aware she may have had a conscious. Help provide a safe abortion or the girl might end up doing a back alley abortion.
How is the fact that the fetus is growing inside of her body not part of the argument? It’s her body. Cancer is growing living entity inside of you. Just because it doesn‘t develop into a human being eventually doesn’t change the relationship between the growth within the body and the host providing the nutrients. You can consider it murder all you want. If the fetus is capable of living outside of the mother, feel free to pay for the procedure to remove it safely and let it live. I doubt a 6 week old fetus will survive without the mother. It’s still her body, not yours. Not the governments. It’s her choice, simple as that.

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 6:19pmAnd again, i rewatched the video and when the pimp is talking about 14-15 year olds, they’re still talking about STD testing, not abortions, and even sounds sympathetic in needing help to make sure, although underage, that they were tested which the employee agrees with. I agree with. They only start talking about abortions when she brings up the need for parental consent. She then just explains to him that some girls get the bypass so their parents won’t find out.
You will pull out of this video what ever you want your final agenda to reflect, which is the same thing the liberals do. Hope you’re happy. You are no better then they are.

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 8:59pmIt appears the best defense that can be mustered (per the verbose AmericanSoldier) relies on embracing legal positivism. Wow. There is no “right or wrong’… just what you can legally skirt as allowed by the judicial system.
Report Post »The issue of abortion is so twisted up with emotions, mental gymnastics and verbal shenanigans. Like it or not, abortion is here to stay… like death, taxes and the pimp’s alleged herpes (YES, I realize the video does not describe the pimp’s specific problems). See, I’m using an analogy… like comparing a tumor to an unborn child. One of these things is not like the other….
The insanity that just infuriates me is the whine that it’s all about “choice.” Hmm… can’t think of any life effecting personal “choice” I expect my fellow Americans to pay for. I don’t expect you to pay for my exercise equipment, tobacco or alcohol. Maybe I should. I mean, I have a “right” to the pursuit of happiness, don’t I? Don’t rights trump choices? Oh, wait… it’s the right to choose. Sure. Still doesn’t mean this “choice” should be shouldered by the general populace. There are enough loud, rich abortion proponents who can put their money where their mouths are. No poor woman or child would ever have to worry if the cheerleaders of choice owned their sacred cow.
And, this of course, doesn’t delve into the clearly illegal activity being discussed. “Move along, people, nothing to see here.” Right…. And let’s not forget the racist, elitist history of Planned Parenthood.
Other than all those concerns, the abortion “choice”… er, right… that was hiding in the 14th Amendment (WHO KNEW!?!) allows us to save the planet one dead brown baby at a time. Like the “hero” doctor in PA. Margaret Sanger would be proud.
Can anyone provide coaching on how I can obtain firearms for minors without getting the pesky media or antigun crowd involved? Maybe legal positivism would allow a minor who “really needs” a gun to get one. Oh, could you imagine the histrionics if THAT was the story? Mr. Soldier likes analogies to make a point… I suppose the issue of gun control would be about as far as you could get from those who embrace abortion. Wait. I mean believes in the “right to choose” as even the most militant abortion proponent will never admit he she actually supports the ending of potential human life. It’s just choice… never to be questioned, ALWAYS to be defended. Too bad a camera will never make it into that baby murder mill in PA. Planned Parenthood’s response to that horror: Still waiting….

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 11:54pm@THE GOOCH How did I say she’d skirt anything? Listening to the conversation I see no wrong doing on her part, at least not directly to call it “coaching” of a “pimp” to provide abortions for underaged girls. Listen again, when the fact that there’s underage girls in his group, they’re both voicing concern for their health, since the topic being discussed is STD testing.
I don’t expect anyone to pay for abortions either, tax payer dollars should most definitely NOT fund abortions. What right of yours is being dismantled by their choice to have an abortion?
I’m definitely against tax payer dollars to fund abortions, absolutely. But the act of abortions, as a choice of the mother, still stands. It is her choice. It is her body. You do not get to make that choice for her. Neither does the Government.

Posted on February 4, 2011 at 9:23amTo the Soldier… fair enough. The issue of funding has always stuck in my craw. Especially when you consider both the modern slippery cowardice and past shameful racism presented by Planned Parenthood and its champions. I still believe your bias is slanting your responses thru the filter of legal positivism. I clearly read and heard the two discuss in what manner minors could seek abortion without parental consent. The conversation DOES shift clearly onto the topic of underaged girls and even discusses citizenship status.
Report Post »Friend, I can Two-step with the best of ‘em. I work in a field chock full of progressives, have a friend who is just left of Jimmy Carter and have liberals sprinkled thru my family. Your attempt to manipulate details is less than impressive. The topic of conversation starts with the discussion of STDs and then shifts to discussing minors, abortions and how to obtain abortions without pesky parental/guardian intervention. One would assume that if some of the alleged girls in question are illegal immigrants or even thralls who were brought to the “pimp” in order to work in the sex trade, there is clearly something foul in this conversation. Because it remains technical in tone does not negate the fact that you are either willfully choosing to ignore what can be quoted, or you simply did not watch the video thru to the end. I’m not gonna engage in a further ******* contest with you on what the video does and does not present. If you can’t admit what clearly transpires, you are neither a reliable witness nor credible commentator.
But, yes, no tax dollars to Planned Parenthood or other abortion concerns. The video is not required for me to assert as much… but it (along with many others) shows what we collectively get to pay for whether we like it or not.
By the by, abortion has been a “choice” made by members of my family. Do I believe abortion should be legal and safe? Yes. But that does not mean I will EVER support abortion and will attempt to redefine as anything other less offensive than the ending of a potential human life. I do not expect you or me to pay for it. If it‘s one’s choice, it‘s that individual’s choice to own. I also realize that as long as we walk the planet in numbers, abortion will be an ugly truth I cannot wish, pray or legislate away. And, yes, of course it is a bad idea for govt. to determine who lives and who dies. But if you study the history of abortion proponents in the U.S., eugenics was and still is a not so secret wet dream of many true believers. That’s why the semantics around this issue are just so laughable at times. You have to juggle motive while still making your sacred cow as palatable as possible. “Pro choice” is a coward’s euphemism, but it’s not really surprising considering the craven, legalistic manner in which abortion was legalized in this country. Proponents didn’t even have the guts to directly assert what they wanted: Legal termination of a pregnancy. Instead, a song and dance routine was drummed up involving the 14th and then 4th Amendments. Even legal scholars who are open advocates for legal abortion admit the machinations that legalized abortion are shameful and bad interpretation of the law. When you have a concern championed by slippery language and manipulation of text that was set up to address freed slaves and illegal search and seizure, your defense for this particular flash in the pan isn’t all that surprising or novel. It’s just more of the same. Yawn….

Posted on February 4, 2011 at 9:50amI guess not. That’s because this crap is totally indefensible even by the most hard-core troll. Pull Planned Parenthood’s federal funding. Let them stand, or fall, on their own merits. I do not want my hard-earned tax dollars funding these fools!
