Busted! Texas Coaches Orchestrate Hilarious Apology After Teen Cuts in Line at Airport

Texas Lacrosse Coaches Have Mac Breedlove Apologize to Plane of Southwest Passengers for Cutting in Line

(Photo: CBS via the New York Daily News)

Texas teen Mac Breedlove is “just a young man who thinks [he's] smarter than [he is],” if his apology to a plane of Southwest passengers is to be believed.

The statement came in the middle of a hilarious speech Breedlove’s lacrosse coaches orchestrated, after the young man cut in line while traveling with his team.

The New York Daily News has more information:

Breedlove at first tried to keep the apology short, muttering into the mic “I’m sorry.”

But after some prodding by the flight attendant, he delivered a prepared address about his “great remorse.”

“During the boarding process I took advantage of this airline’s kindness. When some of my teammates were called to the front of the line, I was not. And yet, I cut in line,” he said.

“This is not how my coaches, teammates or parents expect me to behave,” he said earnestly.

As his fellow passengers giggled, Breedlove delivered his final salve. “I hope you will all find it in your hearts to forgive me. For I am just a young man that thinks I am smarter than I am.”

Watch the entire apology, via CBS, below:

“Enjoy your flight, and remember: fly Southwest, because they let my coach do this for me,” Mac concluded to scattered applause.

After too many horror stories of today’s youth abusing grandparents and the mentally handicapped, it’s somewhat refreshing both to see familiar rule-breaking like cutting in line, and well-intentioned, swift disciplinary action.

According to CBS, the young man’s coaches wanted to stress that Mac is a good kid, and the only reason he stumbled while reading the apology was both because it was hand-written, and because he was pretty embarrassed.

Now if only welfare and food stamp recipients had to offer a truly remorseful apology every month about how their inability to find a job or achieve even the most minimal job tasks results in their taking our time and effort (that’s what money is after all) before they get their check. A little shame and humility would go a long way toward weeding out the lazy.

That is what we used to be taught when this place was called ‘The Land of Opportunity”. I urge you not to be devisive to our population, because it is not their fault. Today, dependence is encouraged, as both parties redistributed our weath making capabilities (which is not arts and craafts, but production of goods and services) to communist nations since 1978.

The only thing that will turn around this trend of accpeted dependency, is to increase opportunity in the USA, (Trump is right) and then make it uncomfortable to be a dependent, while fixing our education system (teaching that dependency is stealing from your neighbors.–Go for your dreams instead. With increased opportunity, you can’t fail do better than the poverty dependency offers you).

Did you know we lost over 50% of our manufacturing over the last 25 years, and you really can’t make any money as a employee anymore? This is not the 80′s. The jobs are not there that can easily pay the bills. Your talking with a manufacturing expert with 3 degrees and 25 years exp, who worked non-union (but gained skill) and always struggeled to pay my bills–until I started my own business. Now, I make more money than any union worker in the world, but I would have a much harder time with this job market gaining those skills from my lower paying employers today, with tuition rise

With decreased opportunity and wages closing the gap to slave wages, it is easy to quit. Don’t blame the people, we have all bee

Nicely done!!!! Thumbs up to the coaches, the SW airlines staff and the passengers for allowing this young man to receive a little piece of humble pie and to do the right thing for all. Hopefully he‘ll remember this and it’ll become something positive for him in his future, its good to see some kind of simple humility based lesson given to kids so they can realize they need to do the right thing for others and for themselves.

This is a great story. Teachers are not allowed to discipline students anymore. When my children were young, they were given ‘red cards’ to bring home when they were disruptive in class. I’m sure most parents just threw these red cards in the trash. My wife and I drove our children to school early the next day after receiving a red card, made them stand up in front of the class, and read a prepared speech apologizing to the teacher and the rest of the class for wasting their valuable class time. This was the worst punishment my children could conceive, and they cried inconsolably the whole way to school. None of my children ever received more than one ‘red card’.

Being I live in Texas I can say, we purposefully teach our young kids respect here. He probably opens the door for women and says please/thank you and calls his elders sir and ma’am too. Kudos to the young man for being a good sport and to the coaches and airline staff that made him accountable for his actions… as minor as they appear it is better that life lessons be learned by little mistakes than by big ones,

I am a Texan, by birth, but IMO respect and consideration, nowadays, are considered “special qualities” instead of the norm. In our day, we opened doors for women, women entered first, we did NOT cut lines, and we took no BS from people.
These days, people will just as soon cut you off, in a parking lot and act like you were the problem. FAT PEOPLE (gastrointestinally challenged) people take ALL the handi-cap parking spaces, or some kid drives his handicap Grandma, she stays in the car and he runs into the stor, or the handicap person takes the space and their passenger gets out and goes in.
Good lick finding a scooter, all the fat people, took them.
Now, even though I wear braces on both legs, I try to find some place close to a handicap space, just to let the really crippled people get the pace, but it usually turns out to be another fat (sorry, gastrointestinally-challenged) person.
I know this is a story about apologies. Just go into any Dept. store, Sooner or later, you will come upon some one blocking the whole aisle, someone who take 45 items into the 25 or less item checkout. No apologies, whatsoever. People are just not taught manners, any sense of propriety, or graciousness anymore.
