Busted: UK Citizen Calls 911 To Make Sure It’s Christmas

Let me start off by saying the headline is slightly misleading. The person called the British version of 911 known as 999. But I digress.

A woman in the UK called 999 in order to clarify if it was still Christmas. When the operator informed her it was actually Boxing Day, December 26, the woman didn’t really accept that answer. She went on to wish the operator a “Merry Christmas.” The Daily Mail reports:

When he [the operator] asks ‘Have you got an emergency?’, she replies ‘No’, then adds: ‘I just wanted to say, quickly, an important message to you if you could pass it on, OK, thank you. Merry Christmas. Today is Christmas Day.’

Hertfordshire Police said at the time the force had already received 45 calls and it was during a busy period.

    Come on folks, try to see that sometimes we need a little humor. That’s all this story is doing.

    Maybe she was just visited by 3 ghosts and she was making sure she didn’t miss Christmas day?

      Probably sexually frustrated like most limey women. I‘d be glad to take my 6’9″ man candy body over and help out.

      Consider the source. When you have had the government taking care of you all these years it only makes sense that little Suzy would ask mommy if its Christmas.

      No doubt. Must be it will be UK day on the Blaze…

      Add to the insipid articles the fact that the trolls are out on force and all the good, decent members seem to be leaving…

      This started out as a great site but it is daily losing its appeal…At least to me…

      @Trolltrainer

      I’d say this site has mostly gone the way of the Fox comments section. If people openly call for the extermination of a whole religion there’s not much to be saved.

      It is great to get real news from more of a truthful and unbiased source but it is also refreshing to get some stories that have happy endings as well as funny stories. I think that it is good to have different kinds of stories to read. The liberal dems are always talking about diversity, I’m all for diversity when it means getting diverse stories.

      Not every story need to be dark and serious. It is nice to have a few stories that are like this one.

      It is called ‘sign of the times’. While you are so critical, I suggest you start your own site. Something tells me you are not up to the challenge.

      What’s the problem with a little levity? Most of the stories are political in nature, but of the kind the MSM ignores, and new items are added more frequently than on Drudge, Politico, Newsmax, WND or Newsbusters.

      My only complaint about this site is with the comments. The race to be the first to post, the mania of many here to post SOMETHING about EVERY item, the lack of proofreading, and the frequently off-topic or incoherent posts — all are tiresome. No matter what the story, one can expect to find numerous and redundant snarky comments about Obama and/or a desire to shoot muslims.

      Before attacking me as a liberal, let me say that I am an active Tea Partier and have been a volunteer in Republican campaigns for longer than many here have been alive.
