A driver in New York City was commuting on the city‘s east side during yesterday’s massive snowstorm when he witnessed an extraordinary taxi cab fire. When he took out his camera to capture the incident, however, he ended up catching something even more incredible — the taxi exploding just feet from a fireman:
According to the videographer, no one was hurt. None of the local news stations had reported on the fire as of publication time.

Posted on January 27, 2011 at 7:57pmRochmoninoff: You are correct, McCain was born in Panama. In Panama Canal, on a U.S. Naval installation, to U.S. military parents. That makes him a U.S. citizen. As for B.O. I’ll leave that subject for everyone to toss back, and forth. I can offer no proof, either way, and even if I could, it would be ignored by those who have their minds set. Again, McCain has been proven to be a legitimate U.S. citizen, by virtue of his parents’ military status, and the location on a U.S. military base. Ironically, it was demanded that he produce a certified birth certificate, which he did immediately, and without a whimper. His certificate was not a “certificate of live birth”., which differs legally from that of a certified birth certificate.

Posted on January 27, 2011 at 6:33pmCars rarely explode like on the movies. That wasn’t an “Explosion” even though it looked impressive. It happens when you try to extinguish the original fire. That is what happens when you spray water on Magnesium. A lot of car speakers contain it. It is big and bright but not very dangerous. I’ve seen it a hundred times. Just a few words from an old fireman. Good job FDNY.

Posted on January 27, 2011 at 5:41pmI’ve seen several YouTube videos of burning cabs. All engine started. Could it be that inferior hoses are being used as replacement fuel lines and are incompatable with ethanol ENHANCED fuel. If fuel lines were replaced, or repaired with Duct Tape(R), maybe they were replaced with drinking straws which are incompatable with fuel and simply detiorate and cause a fuel leak.
Report Post »Old hoses may also have been suseptable to the freezing conditions, became brittle, and ruptured o as the cab crossed bumpy, icy roads.
No consipracy theories, or hyperbole here, just realistic, potential causes.

So the POTUS wants us to tone down the rhetoric fine –
Let the jokes begin:
“Used cab for sale, smoking deal.”
“One used cab, cheap, basic fixer upper”
“Anyone for hotdogs and burgers…”
“Luke, you missed with the light sabre again…”
“Blasters are such inelligent things, uh master yoda, sorry about your cab…”
“Our dispatchers bring you the hottest rides in this fair city…”

Posted on January 27, 2011 at 5:45pmI bet it was an older Ford luxury/Police Car they were prone to gas tank fires in the past, if this one did not receive the recall fix that could be why. It was related to the same problem Ford had with the Pinto Sub-Compact in the 70′s exhaust to close to gas tank in case of damage or fuel leaks.

Posted on January 27, 2011 at 4:30pmGenerally, you get that as the tires blow. The air pressure gets up to about 80 to 100 psi, and when they go, it sounds like a bomb blast. Also, the released air momentarily fans the flames white hot.

As for the snakes though, You have to be hiking with your head pretty far up your, you know what, to miss the sound of a ticked off rattler. Gila monster? no worries, a stick up the nostrils makes them let go. My biggest worry are the large flocks of snow birds that inhabit this area.

The snowbirds are a royal, grade A pain to the seat region as far as I am concerned; maybe if they went into the Superstitions or the Grand Canyon they could just ‘disappear’ and never be found again. I do get sick of hearing them whining about the ‘heat’ and the ‘cold’ conditions, and explain to them if it is so bad here, go home.
With the gila’s a good stick will help out, and your right a rattler can be heard fairly well. Mind you they will not always rattle; one summer cleaned out nearly 300 on my grandpa’s ranch, a few did not rattle the usual warning…getting bit is no fun.

Posted on January 27, 2011 at 6:00pmIt really does not matter “where” he was born physically because his mother was a US Citizen then he is considered a US Citizen also.
Because I have a similar birth, my dad a US Citizen and US Soldier married my mom an Austrian Citizen in 1950 when my dad was stationed in Austria during the Occupation of Europe after WWII. My dad married my mom and then was transfered to France where I was born, I have a French birth certificate in both French and English and a Military form saying I am the natural born Son of a US Citizen. But my mother had a hard time getting the proper paper work for my birth so that I could come to the US in 1956 when we came by Ship to NY city and then to Illinois where my dad was then stationed where my middle sister was born.
So just lets back off the Birth Certificate issue since it won’t be an issue when we vote him out of office. We already have had a white president with birth certificate issues in the 18th Century and it did not work.
I will be doing all I can to vote this Commie Lover out for the good of our Republic we should concentrate on educating the voters around us.

Posted on January 27, 2011 at 6:50pm1TRUEONE55 is right. McCain wasn’t born in the USA either (he was born in Panama).
Besides – how does this game play out?
- impeach? (That worked so well with Monica)
- he steps down? (President Biden)
The winning play is to beat him on the field where we have the advantage: out of control over reaching government (Obomunism) vs. reasonable limited government (Conservatism).
This is a fight we’re winning and have a clear shot for 2012.
If the swing voters decide that a voting against Obama is voting for crazy conspiracy theroists then we have 4 more years of this nonsense. Can the country withstand that? Look at FDR – it took him 12 years and a world war to get the economy working again.
