CAIR Warns Detroit Mosques to Tighten Security…Because of a Christian Prayer Event

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is warning Detroit mosques to beef up security ahead of a Christian prayer event this weekend.

“TheCall” is a 24-hour prayer and fasting event set to take place Nov. 11 in Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions. Thousands of Christians are expected to attend, which prompted Dawud Walid, executive director of CAIR’s Michigan chapter, to email local Muslim organizations telling them to be on the alert.

“Given the theology of the participants and that they view Muslims as demonic, we should be prepared that some participants may come to the mosques to harass or provoke worshipers especially around the time of Friday prayers,” Walid wrote in an email Nov. 2.

Walid advised area mosques and schools to make sure all entrances are secure during the time of the event, and said they should call police if they see “suspicious persons congregate on mosque property.”

According to the Christian Post, TheCall’s website described Detroit as a city in despair, and said Christians will “gather to this city that has become a microcosm of our national crisis – economic collapse, racial tension, the rising tide of the Islamic movement, and the shedding of innocent blood of our children in the streets and our unborn.”

As of Friday, the phrase “the rising tide of the Islamic movement” had been removed from the statement. Event organizers have not commented on the change.

Walid said he’s concerned some of the event participants could try to provoke mosque attendees in some way, the Post reported.

“In these types of circumstances we have to be more security-minded,” he said.

But senior pastor Jerry Weinzierl of the Grace Christian Church, who will be participating in the event, told the Detroit News TheCall is not anti-Muslim in any way.

“It’s not to pray against anybody,” he said. “It is a very positive movement of Christians gathering together to pray.”

Bishop Edgar Vann of Second Ebenezer Church agreed, saying it’s a time for people to come together.

“People are coming here to pray for our city and that‘s what I’m concerned about. Christians will be praying, but it’s open to anyone.”

      JZS People always try to stop churches from being built too. It has to do with traffic and whatnot. But, i don’t see that on the ACLU website even though it is way more common! We certainly don’t call it an attack like the libs do!

      What does he mean by mosgue attendees? Attendees at mosque’s or mosque attendees at the Christain event? Why would mosque attendees attend a Christain event if not to stir things up.

      Is CAIR setting up a scenario?
      By issuing this “alert” are they purposefully pre-escalating something that MIGHT happen?
      Highly doubt anything will, but there is always that possibility. Every group is guaranteed to have at least a few idiots. But if an incident does occur, this pre-warning assures the situation will be pounced on, exagerated and hyped up by the MSM media.

      The mantra “Conservative Christian Tea Party Right encourages & condones violence against Islam, the Religion of Peace” will be trumpeted over and over and over.

      I read very well and thought the satement was not unambiguous. I was asking a simple question in an unbias way. Do you think CAIR is going to have Muslims attend the Christain event. His statement kind of sounded like that to me but, I was unsure and asked for other opinions. I guess we’ll find out either during or after the event.

      JZS – The map proves nothing.

      It does not define “attack”, so it could be anything from graffiti to fire bombing to a ticket for littering.

      Secondly, it does not identify where the alleged “attacks” took place. For all we know, the five in California could have been kids throwing eggs on Mischievous Night or a mosque that was damaged in an earthquake, a fire or some other event.

      Thirdly, California is a huge state in terms of land mass. How many mosques are there in that state? Were the attacks all concentrated in one neighborhood, one city, one county or all over the place. We don’t know.

      And finally, no information was given as to who might possibly be responsible for these so called “attacks”. Assuming it was non-Muslims would be erroneous since there is another lead story indicates that a Muslim bomber was attempting to go into a mosque to kill other Muslims.

      The thing to watch for is the Muslims causing problems at the meeting. I have never heard of any Christian group decending on a mosque and causing problems. I have heard of many problems caused by a group of Muslims all over the world.
      I find that people expect others to act and react the way they would. Shows you what their heart is.

Look for Muslim counter rallies to call for more Jihad in America. Stand with them? Thats the same as saying I must respect their faith when obviously I don’t. I’m sick of lying to myself about the beliefs and behaviours of others. I stand with what the word of God says in the scriptures. If I am considered intolerant for doing so then so be it.

      Christianity seeks converts through the revelation of Jesus’ dying for the sins of all men(State of Grace).

      Judaism does not seek converts and they must actively pursue the Jewish religion through self education (you must ask to be one of the Chosen People after you have learned the laws).

      A man can be forced to join, asked to join, or seek to join. Only one of these methods of coming to religion will not allow freewill. If free will is created by G-d, then the denial of freewill as part of a religion is a denial of G-d’s creation. That is the whole purpose of all evil whether Islam or atheist.

      Out here in the rest of MI (aka Bubba Land) the population of Muslums is pretty thin…as in practically non-existent. There is a REAL good reason for that and it isn’t real hard to figure out. GUNS! They have settled (hidden) in areas where liberalism and political correctness have enabled their chances for success. They will not settle where a MAN or WOMAN is judged on work ethics, patriotism and belief in God. They hide in liberal / progressive cities like the cowards that they are and then depend on the MSM to save their a s s e s.
      Detroit, and most of it’s surrounding suburbs, are a blight on the good natured and hard working people of MI. It’s a bonus that they are concentrated in an area we can afford to lose and that whole region should be boycotted by everyone. If and when it is required a blockade will work just fine to contain the enemy combatants. They are counting on getting more of our $ and police protection and without it they will leave for more lucritive pastures to loot and spread their hate in.

      Animals may be very intelligent and self-aware, but they are not conscious.

      Animals do not pray, they do not record their animal history, they do not worship or synthesize institutions of social control, they do not build cities or engage in agriculture. Animals to make voyages in ships or engage in trade.

      Work through Jayne’s hypothesis and allow him to present all the lines of evidence. It is way beyond the scope of this thread to develop his ideas more fully.

      Suffice to say that Western Civilization is far deeper, more vast, and much more diverse than anything Islamic culture could ever hope to offer and we should do everything to prevent its spread.

      I guess what I am trying to so inelegantly say is that, while the Christian West is currently one of the only groups currently sounding the alarm about Islam, the whole of our Western Civilization encompasses so much more. There are millennia of our history before Christ that we must also tend to with care and never forget.

      All children of the West, be they Christian or not, must be called home. Though the gods of old no longer speak, they are still ours to remember. Or should we allow thousands of years of our culture to simply be erased and replaced?

      The high-symbolism of what is happening in Greece today is lost on many. Those who know our history watch in horror as the Light of Greece is extinguished.

      This is a joke!! I don’t know if there is a “God” or not. NONE OF US FACTUALLY DO! But what I do know is that the belief in a higher being helps comfort millions of people all across the world (irrespective of faith), and in nearly all cases, instills the desire to adhere to civility and moral standards towards each other. What I have observed over the past two decades, is that since the influx of outspoken Atheists in the world, the world is becoming like an unwashed armpit with the perversion of being free TO practice religion to being free FROM practicing religion. For those that don’t believe in God, I respect your right to not believe, but they should respect the rights of others TO believe. Respect the right to retain religious traditions that the MAJORITY in the U.S. practice. The hypocrisy of many “Godless people” is rampant with nonsense like a religious symbol is causing them heartburn. I would propose this as a beginning argument; anyone who is offended by Christian decorations in stores, etc. over the Christmas period should also be sickened by having a paid day off work legally forced upon them. May I suggest that if your employer will not permit you to go to work this December 26th, physically do something for charity like feeding the homeless. DON’T sit at home with your families enjoying your day off after complaining that Christmas has been “forced” upon you.

      This guy calling himself “Billy” needs to open his heart a little bit. Even science is beginning to delve into the possibility that “prayer” has a quantum effect on our reality. He needs to look into some new information coming out about the effect of thought on our own reality….and stop the foolishness of trying to prevent belief in something larger than yourself, whether it be God, or whatever.
      Such thinking always leads to abuse, violence, and the ascendency of the power hungry to control others for the sake of control.

    Only prayer, repentance, and a turning back to God will get this area here back on track. Detroit is a mess. I work in and out of the area and it looks like a war zone, literally.
    But this garbage that Christians are going to become violent is absurd.

    ummm yes islam is growing in detroit. they prey on the poor black communities and spread their message of blame and victimization to the misinformed angry youngsters that would otherwise be joining the standard street gang, this is why they also proliferate in prisons, lets blame everyone else for our problems and be even angrier that basically sums it up. God bless this prayer meeting detroit really needs help, not in the form of handouts or bail outs but a revival of heart and deep change that only God can bring thru the actions and change of many. I am not at all surprised that the muslim community will play victim, like usual and distort the truth.

      It is a linguistic analysis of ancient religious texts and the hypothesis presented is both stunning and informative. Please take a few days to go over the Professor’s arguments and please try to exercise some of that scientific thinking you are so proud to champion.
