Calif. Gov. Bans Local Municipalities from Banning Circumcisions

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (The Blaze/AP) — California’s governor has signed a bill that that will prevent local governments from banning male circumcision.

Gov. Jerry Brown’s office announced Sunday that the Democrat signed AB768, a bill written in response to a ballot measure proposed in San Francisco.

Backers of a ban collected more than 7,700 signatures to put a measure on the November ballot in San Francisco to outlaw the circumcision of most male children. It was later blocked by a judge.

They had argued that circumcision is an unnecessary surgery that can lead to sexual and health problems later in life.

Those against the ban say it is an important religious practice for many Jews and Muslims, and that it can reduce the risk of cancer and sexually transmitted diseases. In fact, Jews and Muslims united against the proposed ban and filed a joint lawsuit back in June.

The proposed ban took on an anti-Semitic tone when Matthew Hess unveiled the comic “Foreskin Man,” which was supposed to help the ban’s cause but may have ended up doing more harm than good:

Governor Jerry Brown Bans Circumcision Bans

That, of course, prompted the reactionary comic, “Captain Israel:”

I seen them both ways…and frankly they are cleaner and the penis is more attractive without the flap…LOL!!!!! Wackos need to leave the snipping of the flap to doctors and parents…if one doesn’t want to snip it…then so be it and keep it to yourself…what the hell is going on with people…It’s time to govern the penis!!!! That is too funny.

So a flap that traps in dirt and grime is “cleaner?”

Ahuh, ok, if you say so. I mean it‘s not like the practice isn’t a covenant of my people or anything, and is one of the many practices of cleanliness that prolong life and health. Yep, obviously those people who came up with the practice are ignorant fools living in fear of superstitious nonsense like animals who eat their own or devour garbage are more likely to develop infectious diseases in their meat? Or that cooking meat with milk is likely to create stomach turmoil and loose stool?

Yep, my people sure are ignant “whackos” with no knowledge of health. =P

With a state so broke and dysfunctional. It’s a wonder that they should have anything to do with writing laws for the rest of the nation. Would you let a drunk or a drug addict right the rules for your house hold after they put your family and home on the street.

You like that one, don’t you? In actuality, the ONLY reason he (our governor) did this was the pressure that we (the citizens and ones you are calling names) put on him. So, instead of calling the MANY Californians who are doing everything we can to stop these totalitarianists from destroying our state names, maybe you should educate yourself instead of regurgitating some moron’s sound bites.

Many of us have been taking an active roll in keeping our state government in check by either showing up to our state representative’s office, or calling the govornors office. We are also flooding our state government with opposition to the California version of the dream act (AB131), which was written by an open supporter of La Raza, Mensa, and the rest of the “Aztlan” loonies.
