Calif. Teacher Fired for Appearing in Porn Movie

A Southern California middle school teacher was fired Wednesday for appearing in a pornographic movie, school district officials said.

Stacie Halas, 31, a science teacher at Richard B. Haydock Intermediate School, had been on paid administrative leave while the Oxnard Unified School District investigated the allegations after they surfaced last month. Oxnard is approximately 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

The investigation started when students approached school administrators and said they had seen a female teacher in a pornographic movie, the Los Angeles Times reported. Officials initially couldn’t confirm whether it was Halas — performing under the name Tiffany — because filters on the school’s computers blocked access to explicit websites. The probe was restarted after teachers came forward with cell phone images appearing to verify Halas’ participation.

According to the Associated Press, no students appeared in the video, which was apparently produced before she became a teacher in Oxnard in 2009.

School district trustees voted unanimously to dismiss Halas, the board president said.

Superintendent Jeff Chancer told KTLA-TV there was no realistic way Halas could return to the classroom.

“If she were to return to our school district, it would be a disruption to the education and the children’s learning in our schools,” Chancer said.

According to the AP, the district sent a letter to parents asking that their children not search for the Halas’ image on online sex sites.

“I saw parts of the video,” Chancer said last month. “It’s hardcore pornography.”

Halas has 30 days to appeal her firing.

      This is a tough one. I agree that it’s neither here nor there how she made her living before becoming a teacher. If this were merely a matter of rumors following her, or even confirmation without pictures and video, that would be one thing. But I have to imagine that the existence and easy availability of a video would be a continuous distraction.

      Teachers are public figures to some extent, and more so than many public figures, they hold the public trust as they do their jobs. That’s something you have to consider when you decide to stand in front of the class. It’s too bad that this had to come to pass. In a better society people would just mind their own business. Perhaps her students will learn a little something about that from getting their teacher fired.

      Hope she can sue for a ton of money and get her job back. She is of legal age, not performing with illegal people/animals, and did it before she was on this job. Porn isnt illegal. Unless she signed something saying she hadnt been in porn this is wrong.

      Stacie Halas gets fired for doing a LEGAL activity BEFORE she became a teacher. The school board votes unanimously on this. Yet, when it comes to the pedophile teachers, they get a quiet office to hang out in for eight hours a day and still get paid.

      To all of you saying that she did something legal before she became a teacher….yes..you’re right. BUT!!!! As a teacher, she is now a role model to the children she supervises. She is somebody they look up to, whether they admit it or not. This is not a good influence and it IS a distraction to the boys…no question. Stop acting like the things you do don‘t affect your own future and don’t affect anybody else. They DO!!! She made her choices, and now she is dealing with the consequences.

It would be cheaper to put her in a rubber room and pay her full salary, vacation pay, health insurance and retirement contributions. This state is run by the Progressives and the Unions. A retired teacher in California makes more per month than working teachers make per month in 28 states.

      Boys have fantasies of attractive school teachers…having a porno of your teacher would probably the most disruptive thing that can happen. It’s sad that she left the industry and got a good job only to be fired for her past job but this is for the benefit of the children…you can’t expose them to this sort of thing.     I had a hot teacher in the 11th grade She was a leggy blonde. .She taught English. She would sit on a stool in the front of the class and teach. She wore short dresses and when she sat on that stool and crossed her legs all the boys in the class would audibly moan in appreciation. The girls hated her and would roll their eyes at the admiration the boys gave her. If she ever caught on listening to short quiet groans everytime she sat down…she never acted as if she noticed.

    Why is the media reporting she has been fired? This is an obvious lie as it is common knowledge that the only things that can get a teacher fired are if they suspect you may be either conservative, climate change denier, or a Christian. The appeal will be successful and she will be reinstated in a different school district.
    The City of Oxnard protects their perverts as they have done in the past by promoting Ernesto Delacruz, the head children’s librarian to run the Oxnard public library before he retired, even though he was a known pedophile that used the children‘s section to troll for victims and then rape them in his apartment after gaining the parent’s trust by offering his “tutoring” services.       @Present Relic, People make their own choices. I personally believe that GOD is real, and that pornography is immoral.I do not try to enforce those beliefs on other people. We live in a free society, and people get to have their own choices, and it is not for us to judge. It seems to me that you have forgotten the flip side of the coin when it comes to our freedom to make our own choices, and have our own beliefs. That is personal responsibility. Choosing to be a porn star has consequences,immediate and long term. She enjoyed the immediate reward, and now does not want to accept the long term. If you choose to be a porn star, then your not going to be a teacher, at least not to children. She has the right to choose her life style, and the parents of the children, that are forced to sit in her class, because there is no freedom of choice in public schools, have the right to not have their children exposed to such things. The district board is correct, she will be nothing but a distraction. The citizens have the right to set the standards that public employee’s must live up to.

She can‘t very well back up and undo what’s done, but does that mean she can never make amends, be forgiven (if only by herself), and move on to live a productive life?       @CEMERIUS — Settle down. Who said anything about ‘illegal’? Lots of people have employment agreements that allow for termination in cases of moral terpitude. A school teacher most certainly should, because they work with people’s children. I have that in my line of work as well, because I work with people’s money. There is nothing illegal or wrong about firing someone for behavior that does not meet the standards the employer wishes to maintain, if such an agreement is entered into mutually by the employer and the employee. Such agreements are extremely common. Google it when you get done catching your breath.

      First of all you are assuming she wouldn’t have sex with a student. Someone with questionable moral character should not be around children to begin with. The temptation is there. She made a bad choice in 2009 and now it is coming to bite her in the patooty. If you are so concerned with losing her teaching job, then hire her to teach your children, bring her in to home school. This is assuming there is a wife or girlfriend in your life and you have kids.

And….. you are assuming that she WOULD have sex with the students. If it‘s wrong for me to assume she wouldn’t, then it’s wrong for you to assume she would.

      And finally, I agree with you, I wouldn’t want her any where near my childrens education. Look at the School system that did not properly vet there teachers.

      I’m not blaming any particular brand of crazy; I’m just taking a general swipe at busybodies. I’ve seen this play out locally with way too many people I know who have skeletons in their closets dogpiling on a convenient target. This all comes down to allowing others to feel good about themselves by reveling in the misfortune of another. I’m not defending this teacher, but I’m not going to throw her to the street. Funny how we have no indication if she was even a good teacher. Isn’t if funny how we pay lip service to tolerance and forgiveness… but invariably revert to authoritarian stances?
      It doesn’t appear to me that any system or union rushed to her defense. Hey. Here’s a thought. At least now she can either go on welfare or return to the porn industry. That’ll show her! So much for rehablitation and forgiveness. As I see from many so-called people of faith in my neck of the woods, forgiveness is between you and God; if they can cast the proverbial stone, they’ll gladly start piling up the rocks.
      Did you happen to miss the part where it was students who found this out? Must be some p!ss-poor parents and administrators involved. Maybe CA would be better off putting the inmates in charge of the asylum.
      As always, careful what you wish on others. That‘s about all I’m trying to say. This women did not rob you or harm you. But off with her head. Feel better?

    is it just me or do teachers continue to get more immoral, mentally ill and dangerous every year? heaven help us. we need a major reform of the education system in the usa. including busting the unions up immediately and ending the department of education.
