Calif. Teachers Federation Endorses Convicted ‘Cop Killer’

The California Federation of Teachers — a branch of the AFL-CIO — has adopted a resolution at its annual conference supporting convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, the Daily Caller reports.
From TheDC, which notes that Abu-Jamal is now being called a “journalist:”
Among the resolutions largely pertaining to education and collective bargaining rights was Resolution 19 – to “Reaffirm support for death row journalist.”
“Therefore, be it resolved, that the California Federation of Teachers reaffirm its support and demand that the courts consider the evidence of innocence of Mumia Abu-Jamal,” the Committee Report reads.
Mumia Abu-Jamal, a former member of the Black Panther Party, was convicted of shooting, multiple times, Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner in 1981. He reportedly confessed to the crime and was given the death penalty.
Instead of recognizing Abu-Jamal’s conviction, the federation believes he is innocent and a civil rights hero.
“Mumia Abu-Jamal has for decades as a journalist fought courageously against racism and police brutality and for the human rights of all people and has taken strong stands in support of working people involved in labor struggles and in support of well-funded, quality, public education,” the resolution reads.
But not everyone is convinced.
“Somebody should tell the California Teachers Federation that this is over, he is in jail, he is going to stay there,” Daniel Flynn, author of “Cop killer: How Mumia Abu-Jamal conned millions into believing he was framed, told TheDC. “You have numerous eyewitnesses saying Mumia did it. You had ballistic evidence – Mumia’s gun at the scene was consistent with the bullet used to kill Faulkner. Mumia admitted after the fact that he did it.”
That doesn’t matter to the CFT. “The delegates decided it was time to reiterate that they supported him due to the irregularities that they felt had taken place during his case,” a spokesman for the organization told TheDC. He went on to say that the CFT takes positions on a variety of “social matters.”
Former Green Jobs Czar Van Jones is also an Abu-Jamal supporter.

They are being taught to be radicals, They are not being educated. Public sector jobs should never have collective barganing rights. We need to start kicking these people out of our schools. Posted on April 12, 2011 at 2:28pmThis is no big surprise. There is no limit to how low the left will sink, and we all know the AFL-CIO is a commie-laden far-left radical scumbag organization. Greedy, selfish and full of the most fowl fecal matter.

I feel sorry for you conservatives living in CA. Get out while you can. It is less expensive in other parts of the country and you can live among like-minded people.

Posted on April 12, 2011 at 7:18pmHow can anyone in their right mind stand up for a cold blooded killer. I think we are bending the Constitution way too far and soon it’s back will be broken in many pieces. Wake up America and stand up for our rights.

Posted on April 13, 2011 at 1:13amWAKE UP AMERICA!!! There is a new REVOLUTION COMING!!! Be a part of it or be left behind in the dust. How much more are you willing to take? Have you forgotten that our elected officials work for us, the TAX PAYERS OF AMERICA? Every damn one of them from zer0bama to the lowest city worker are funded by OUR TAXES. Have WE forgotten how to say NO! We all need to be yelling as loud as we can, “WE ARE PISSED OFF AND WE AIN”T GONNA TAKE IT ANY MORE”!
If you are a dues paying member of the AFL-CIO, you need to be demanding your money back, because they could care less about you and your family, they only care about their big fat pay checks, their fine clothes, cars and big fancy homes. When has the union ever created a job?

Everbody knows that CA is a very weird place. That don’t mean that the rest of us need to follow ever nutty idea that they can come up with. Would YOU vote for the moonbeam?
