California Mom Arrested After Baby Dies in Microwave

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Sacramento police have arrested a mother after an investigation found her baby likely died from burns suffered in a microwave oven.
Ka Yang, who is 29, is being held without bail in Sacramento County Jail. She was arrested Tuesday, three months after her 6-week-old daughter was found dead in the family home.
Police described the child as suffering “extensive thermal injuries.” Officer Laura Peck says investigators pinpointed what they believe is the cause of death by looking for other cases involving similar injuries.
They found three in the U.S., all after children were burned in a microwave: in Dayton, Ohio; Galveston, Texas; and New Kent County, Va.
Peck says police do not have a motive. No attorney was listed for Yang.

By the way, I wonder who took women’s right to vote away to begin with? Was it the Indian killer Andrew Jackson (D)? All land owners could vote when America was still young, gender didn’t matter. Just the owner of the land was typically under the husband’s name and he voted for his entire family and single and widowed women could vote then – as long as they owned land.

The big lie is that stories like this have anything to do with abortion, that they are some symptom of an anti-life, pro-death culture created by pro-choicers. I could turn it around and claim that the next story about an insane father locking his kids in their room for ten years is a symptom of an anti-choice anti-freedom culture created by the other side, but I won’t because it would be a lie.
The sad truth is that this kind of thing was happening long before Roe v Wade. You just never heard about it and nobody but cops and psychiatrists ever knew how common it really was. The mothers would tearfully confess and be sent off to a mental hospital without a big criminal trial or a lot of press coverage. This didn’t change until Susan Smith – the woman who killed three of her own children in 1995. The only unusual aspect of her case was that she tried to tough it out instead of confessing, and sent the police off on a wild goose chase after an imaginary carjacker. This and the racial aspect she added by making the nonexistent perp a black guy propelled the story to national press coverage. She’s in prison now, but her case had one lasting effect – crazy women killing their own kids were now fair game to journalists trying to sell papers. He said that after the 30th microwave baby case, his wife, who worked for social services, couldn’t take it anymore. You see, supposedly there is a myth going around that if you put a baby in the microwave it will soothe it. When in reality it is “cooking” the larnyx from the inside. When he told me that, I just felt I had to share the information. Deeply disturbing.
