Can New e-Book Series Help Spread Tea Party Message?

Broadside Books, a conservative imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, recently launched what it calls a “groundbreaking e-book series.”
That new series, which is now available at an e-platform near you, is called “Voices of the Tea Party.”
The series publishes short, pamphlet-like political works on topics such as Obamacare (”First Do No Harm“) and grassroots activism (”Community Organizing for Conservatives“).
At $2 per e-book, the purpose of these long essays is to “reinvigorate and democratize the conservative intellectual movement by lowering barriers to entry for citizen-activists who have something important to say,” according to Adam Bellow. Bellow, the son of Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Saul Bellow, is the editor of Broadside Books.
“The Tea Party is the most exciting political movement of my lifetime,” Bellow recently told CNN. “I say that as someone who was around during the 60s and was in many ways a product of that decade.”
The mission of “Voices of the Tea Party,” in the words of Broadside Books’ website, is to connect readers and writers to those “citizen activists” Bellow mentioned:
Readers and writers alike can thereby join important national discussion within this ever-expanding community of citizen activists who have dedicated themselves to securing the movements’ core values of constitutionally limited government, fiscal responsibility and free markets.
Bellow is pictured below, left, with The Blaze’s editor-in-chief Scott Baker.
In this interview with Baker, Bellow discusses the genesis of “Voices of the Tea Party”—and of his own political conservatism, which was awakened, he explains, in the 1980s.

Most of us have seen the movie E.T., Star Wars, Dirty Harry, Avatar….. but how many of us have read those books? I would rather hold a news paper than even bother with an “eBook” but maybe in time eBooks will become something more… I dunno… maybe …. maybe a …. how do I say it? Oh yea… a video…. those seem to cost more to make but the audience levels go way up.
If you want people to understand more, then talk to your friends more. show your colors. Wear shirts, caps, stickers, patches… ADVERTISE and show that the Tea Party folk are not just some far off group of whack jobs. ABOVE ALL ELSE… educate yourself because you will be questioned and the last thing you want to do is come across as an idiot. Know what you believe in and why you believe it. Don’t rely on Glenn Beck to give you all of the answers. Don’t expect Sarah Palin or anyone else to live it for you. Educate yourself, know what you speak of, and then advertise and show the world around you that the Tea Party is their neighbors, their friends…. and ultimately… they are the emerging Tea Party.

Ebooks aren’t some small niche bit of tech any longer. They’re outpacing paperback sales. Embracing this new tech as a means of getting ideas out there is a viable idea. Ebooks are also a viable means of educating yourself. As viable a means as paper books.

Somewhat true but the point is to get to the A.D.D. youth who have such a short attention span, it makes it easier to get to them. People with the hunger for the truth will gravitate naturally but those on the fence are the one we need to reach. Understanding that there will always those who refuse to see the light no matter the proof or granite of evidence.
We can’t take to violence, that’s what they want, thus bring the top down. What we can do is work hard to vet the candidates and work harder to support the best amongst them. Demand the best…

They know that they need to take action to change the system, but are at a loss as to what that next step should be. They want to stop the greed and corruption that has infested our government. This forum will help them understand how some of us have started at the local government level, vetting the candidates that have the most impact on our communities, and in some cases running for those positions simply because there is no one to step-up. The comments by “EMCINOM” show me that this is threatening to the left and that is a good thing too. So there is hope for us yet.

I hope you can see it THIS WEEK, it was number 1 last week in the BOX OFFICE for the number of theatres it was in…it doubled the size which is very difficult to do…so it looks like other people love it as much as we do!!! I know most associate themselves as conservative out of either tradition or pigeonholing in not wanting to be considered “liberal” due to a media imposed two-party dichotomy, but ask around for opinions at local groups and you’ll find most lean heavily libertarian if they are under the age of 65. When I say libertarian of course I mean little “L” and not the official political party.

I’d bet the actual IQ, education level, credit score, and any other “measure” of human achievement is MUCH higher (like, on the order of 10 or more….) for your average “Tea Partier” than one of their “progressive/liberal” types. And conversely, the illiteracy and drop-out rate, criminal history, illegitimacy, and welfare-dependency are MOST ASSUREDLY higher for those on the political “left” (who vote in droves for their “O’Bama money”) than on the “right” .
The ugly truth is, the segment of America who voted for this incompetent, unqualified poser (after witnessing what four years of a Democrat Congress and two years of O‘Bama’s disastrous Presidency has done to our economy and our sacred Republic) and would STILL do so could ONLY be populated by a preponderance of uneducated idiots, leaches, un-American, socialist, communist, morally-corrupt and intellectually-bankrupt fools. In a word…“Sheeple”.
