Canadian Anti-Transgender Ad: ‘Stop Confusing’ Children

The Institute for Canadian Values began a petition to prevent government officials from updating grade school sex education curriculum with content that could “confuse” children about their sexual orientation and other LGBT topics that it deems are inappropriate.

The Stop Corrupting Children campaign has released ads against a new sex ed curriculum, which was originally introduced and removed in 2010 due to outrage from parents. According to their website, the curriculum, which is being “reworked by officials, is still on the table and would include topics like sexual orientation in the third grade, masturbation in the sixth and anal intercourse in the seventh.

Potential for New Canadian Sex Education Curriculum Opposed for Confusing Children

These quotes are part of an ad that ran in a Canadian newspaper promoting the petition. (Image: Stop Corrupting Children)

Here is Stop Corrupting Children’s video ad:

The curriculum is being pushed by Ontario’s Premier Dalton McGuinty and Transportation Minister Kathleen Wynne, who was previously the Minister of Education. According to an article by Life Site News, Wynne said that education is the most important” means of tackling “homophobia” among today’s youth.

Life Site News continues with McGuinty stating in July that Catholic schools incorporating homosexual clubs is “not a matter of choice”:

While the Catholic schools have complied by moving to introduce “anti-bullying” clubs focused on sexual orientation, Wynne told Xtra she was “very disappointed” by the refusal of Catholic school boards’ to allow gay-straight alliances.  She said, however, that she expects the boards “will all come around.”

“It’s not going away. The expectation is that they will have an equity and inclusive education policy and will allow students to form these groups to have these discussions in every school board in the province,” she said.

Wynne said it is “non-sense” for the Catholic schools to implement clubs that avoid using the term ‘gay’.

According to CBC News last year, McGuinty stepped back from the curriculum saying, “It’s become pretty obvious to us that we should give this a serious rethink.” At that time, opponents claimed victory. But, as Stop Corrupting Children reports, government officials are moving forward with revising the original curriculum.

For the life of me I can’t understand why any parent would opt for public education over homeschooling or private schools.

And don‘t waste your breath saying you can’t afford it. Look around you, you can’t afford NOT to!

I have 4 children who all have gone or are going to public school and they know right from wrong and we don’t let the schools try to tell us what is best for our kids. We have been vocal about their job of teaching them reading, writing, math and sciences NOT morality. We have been lucky with our schools and while we would love to home school neither of us can afford not to work to put food on the table, clothes on their backs and a roof over their heads. We also have an Autistic daughter whom we were told WE CAN NOT home school due to her needs. As for private school with 4 kids we can’t afford to send them if we did, we’d have to live out of a car and rarely eat. We checked out the private schools and they are expensive.

I actually laughed out loud when I read that.

“impedes or destroys one’s use of critical thinking skills”

I believe that is the most valid argument AGAINST public education. By it’s very nature it is designed to destroy individual thought. Collectivism and collective thought are the hallmarks of public education. True critical thinking is developed when the individual is allowed to look at life free from the shackles of the peer review/pressure of those who are equally as ignorant as they.

To use a hunting dog for example: Placing one untrained pup in a room with a dozen or so others and one instructor will never a trained dog make. You’ll end up with a pack who may all run in the same direction, but will still not know why they are doing it. But take that same pup into the field with a few older, experienced dogs and work with it one on one and let it watch them work, and you will have a valuable hunting dog that knows what he is doing and won’t be running off with just any stray batch of dogs that come running through.

That said, homeschooling just like training a good gun dog requires a loving and very firm hand, lots of patience, and the ability to allow the child to work with others and yourself and show them life and how to live it. If that’s not an option, then yeah, I’d give your comment a little more weight. But that’s a statement about you then, not about homeschooling.

to Consentiodum: Critical thinking, in public school? Allow me to laugh quietly. Ahahahahahaaaaa. As a child I spent time in a private school, public school, and home school.

Home school wins the quality of education contest hands down. Of course, some believe parents aren’t competent enough to home school. To them I say this: any parent who is home schooling their child/children is very likely doing innovative, creative, and valuable things for them that the public school system hasn‘t and couldn’t ever dream up.

To restate: Parents who choose to home school are, I guarantee, generally doing a much, much better job than the public school system. Especially on critical thinking.

Just…I’m wondering where you even got that idea from, what experiences you’ve had that led you to that conclusion about home schooling?

      Couldn’t have said it better.

Critical thinking involves coming up with multiple answers to a question and even different ways to ask the question which spawns more answers. In public school and in some private schools, they teach you there is one answer, it’s in the back of the book, and you can‘t look because that’s cheating.

Dagny…I think the same thing…I homeschool…because I care what my child is learning…and unfortunately in today’s public schools, you never know.
People do say they can’t afford it…K12 is a free public school curriculum, and is excepted by alot of states.
Another thing I always hear with parents, don’t have the time…seriously I could spend an average of 2 to 3 hours per day with my 6th grader…doesn’t have to be a set time….really not that hard.
I highly recommend that if you can, teach your child at home. It’s well worth it.
Oh yes…the number one thing for anti-homeschoolers is the social aspect…per this article…this is what we get when government decides social issues for your children!

We’ve begun home teaching our girls…in the last month, our 8-y-o is already doing 4th grade math and reading. We’re using the book, “A Well-Trained Mind”, as our guide. If you can, hit a library or local bookstore and read the story of Susan, the daughter who ended up going to college after having been home-schooled. It’s quite enlightening.

The youngest, our 6-y-o, is getting out of the bad habits she picked up from Kindergarden, where she was treated in a baby-like manner. Her speech patterns were atrocious in the way she used an “F” instead of “TH”, plus the fact she drew out her blending of words to the point where she should have read the entire sentence rather than just that one word. She’d grow “tired” and begin yawning when she had to do some reading. My wife has broken her of it and is advancing in her reading quite rapidly now.

We’ll be getting them tested out of 3rd and 1st grade by December. Then, by the end of the regular school year, 4th and 2nd grades will be complete as well.

As for critical thinking skills, that’s gone from the school these days. From what I’ve observed last year, they’re just expected to regurgitate with no thought process. My wife and I engage them in conversation, drawing out their opinions and observations about various subjects. It helps that my particular job requires critical thinking and my wife has a degree in Chemistry. But, if you go along with a good curriculum, then anyone c

We home schooled our son and then enrolled him in the local community college (one of the best rated in the country). He was absolutely floored with the immaturity and the lack of critical thinking exhibited by his fellow students. One kid got up in philosophy class and made some wild statement. When asked by the teacher for some kind of evidence to back it up, the student replied that it was the way that he felt and therefore was valid. While the validity of the student’s feelings may be true, the statement that he made was undeniably false.

He will not grow up being told by liberal socialist public school teachers that anally fisting your fellow kindergartner is acceptable behavior.

Look up the Little Black Book for Queer kids. It was (or is) a class that all children in Massachusetts had to go through. In this class, the public school teacher would use all sorts of bad language to include the F word to better relate to the students. These students were taught that anal fisting is safe and should be explored by everyone. These kids were as young as 5 YEARS OLD!!

Start with Angelina Jolie who is Mommy Dearest when it comes to completely screwing up her daughter, Shilow, gender since the poor kid was an infant. Jolie DELIBERATELY dresses THAT ONE DAUGHTER ONLY since day one in boy’s clothes. A 1 year old does NOT deliberately dress as a boy and now the little girl ONLY KNOWS BOYS CLOTHES while her adopted sister from African and her 1 year old biological sister are dressed as girls.

You KNOW Angelina Jolie has gone TOO FAR with screwing up the gender confusion of little Shilow by ALWAYS dressing her in boy clothes when “Chaz Bono” calls Jolie and Pitt and “offers” to guide/menter “her” soon to be a screwed up him.

I think Jolie is doing it on purpose because she is aging fast and wants to have a gender controversial daughter so she can say how she was so great a mother she accepted it. While Jolie may accept it but she also caused it. I also think Jolie doesn’t want any competition from her first biological born pretty daughter either for the public or from Brad Pitt. The daughter from Africa is homely so no worries there.

Whether you agree with that view or not, don’t just go around thinking that this view is automatically hateful unless you want to have no chance of understanding what it is that you disagree with. It’s no different than thinking that things like alcoholism, murder, and gambling are bad. “Good” people can love and accept gays while condemning the act. Sure, it can translate into hate, and I recognize that there are a lot of religious people who really don’t like gays, but that is NOT the same thing as refusing to embrace the act.

Good thing we were released from the Old Covenant then, isn’t it? Read Acts 10. Read the Gospels as Jesus lays out the New Covenant. The Old Testament law was laid out for a world of people who had not been cleansed by the blood of Christ. That‘s why Christians don’t make sacrifices even though it was demanded under the old law. Jesus was the final sacrifice, His death broke the last chains to the old law and his resurrection established the new law he taught during his life.

Additionally, homosexual animals do exist. In fact they’re quite common. You might be surprised to know there are even some transsexual animals. http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/clownfish/breeding.php

This ad, and many commenters, seem to confuse homosexuality, transgender, and intersex. Matthew 19:12 describes Intersex children, those “born eunuchs of their mothers womb”. Arbitrarily surgically alter them to look like one sex or the other, and if you guess wrong, they become transgender – mind(and brain) of one sex, body of the other. That also can happen due to the mother being exposed to certain prescription drugs during pregnancy, the brain is anatomically of one sex, the genitalia of the other.
Transsexuality is usually detectable by age 5, though there are other situations that can appear the same. Those children grow out if though by age 10, Transsexual kids do not. And this has nothing to do with sexual orientation.
Intersex kids obviously don’t “grow out of it”, though some syndromes do cause a natural sex change during puberty, usually from female to male, genitals change etc.
This is reality. This is what happens to some children. The best time to educate other kids – and their parents – so these unusual children don’t get persecuted, is early on.
Some people object to that – but then, they object to my existence. I’m Intersex, and so is my child.

The schoolhouse is not the place to be promoting social agendas. It is supposed to be a place of learning and critical thinking , not brainwashing and indoctrination.

If I were Canadian’s I would remove my children from every school across the country.. This is blatant evil.. Satan at his finest.. Come on Canadian’s do the right thing and protect your children! Do NOT allow your school system to destroy your children.. its obvious that perverts have written these worthless pieces of paper!

America has been hijacked by an evil agenda and the will of the people pissed-on by crooked perverted judges.. Like the spirit of hitler, they know the only way to rule is to usurp parents rights and brainwash the youth while molesting them along the way. Hide your kids.

I was born a white male, but as I grow older I think, seriously, I was born into the wrong body and feel trapped in my skin by the prejudices of society. I believe that despite some physical accidents of birth, I am really Japanese!

Even the Canadians recognize what a freak show this crap is. We shouldn’t teach our Children anything to do with this subject. Stick to the truth, the Constitution, real history, math, P.E, shop, etc. School and the government have no business even bringing this crap up. As a matter of fact make them all wear uniforms that will assist the so called poor people by not having to feel like their kids need 300$ tennis shoes and have the rich kids bagging on the ones that can’t afford to wear fancy duds. This I believe would help focus on the real reason they go to school. EDUCATION not indoctrination.

California has passed the same law and I have sent the petition against to everyone I know. However we only had two weeks to get the signatures required to get it on the ballot.

It seems to me that Canada is becoming more conservative, as the US becomes more socialist.

Not really conservative but a hard swing to the right, with Stephen Harper and his big election win. It was progressed to the left like the US but slower and steady with no slowing down like the US had around 80′s. Canada had Trudeau when US had Gipper so the pause was not there. Farther to the left to come back so any change is noticeable.

There where rumblings of looking at a Canadian death penalty as notorious now dead Clifford Olson was dying, but now he is dead of cancer. The DP has removed for over 50 years but there where rumblings. Now that he is dead the rumblings may die to though.
