‘Captain Israel’ Takes on ‘Foreskin Man’ in Epic New Comic Book

Arlen Schumer Creates Captain Israel Comic in Response to Foreskin Man

There's a new hero in town. Above, see Captain Israel, the new comic book illustrated and written by Arlen Schumer

We all know Captain America, the superhero who has valiantly protected the United States on the pages of comic books — and currently on the big screen — since the fictional character was created back in 1941. Now, in an epic battle of whit and strength over anti-Semitism and bizarre expeditions against male circumcision, there’s a new character in town: Captain Israel.

Arlen Schumer Creates Captain Israel Comic in Response to Foreskin ManBefore we can discuss this exciting addition to the wacky world of comic book heroes, we must revisit the recent creation of an antithetical “superhero” named Foreskin Man. Remember him? Scott Baker reported on this offensive character back in early June.

As you may recall, Matthew Hess, who created Foreskin Man, was the author of the now-defeated San Francisco circumcision ban. In describing Hess and his comic-book creation, the San Francisco Chronicle wrote the following:

[Hess']…website, mgmbill.org — which pushes “a bill to end male genital mutilation in the United States” –also pushes his literature and merchandise starring “Foreskin Man”…

The star cover image of his comic book shows a dark, bearded rabbi looming over a naked baby laying on a pool table, as a superhero appears ready to save the child.

Saunders asked Hess if his comic is anti-Semitic. His answer: “A lot of people have said that, but we’re not trying to be anti-Semitic. We’re trying to be pro-human rights.”

I won‘t bore you with details regarding why Hess’ work appears less than favorable to the Jewish faith, as this case has already been made. Instead, let‘s examine Foreskin Man’s newest foe — the aforementioned protagonist, Captain Israel. Author and blogger John Shore explains:

Captain Israel” is a comic book illustrated and written by Arlen Schumer. Footing the bill for Captain Israel’s production is Stand With Us, an Israeli advocacy group…

Arlen Schumer Creates Captain Israel Comic in Response to Foreskin Man

Above, find two pages from the first edition of the Captain Israel comic book

While the comic’s official web site proclaims that the first edition is “coming soon,” an online edition can be read here. Schumer has already been vocal about the project, his involvement and his opinions about his character’s arch-nemesis. In an interview with the Jewish Ledger’s Cindy Mindell, he took particular issue with the Foreskin Man comics:

“By using classic antisemitic caricatures, by turning the mohel into a monster, the anti-circumcision group makes the ritual seem devilish,” says Arlen Schumer, a Westport-based comic-book historian, commercial illustrator, and creator of Jewish superhero Captain Israel, currently being published in a comic-book series by L.A.-based Israel advocacy group, StandWithUs.

Schumer is also troubled by the issue’s closing image, of the “intactivists” burning a towering structure made of appropriated “circumstraints,” topped with the group’s symbol. “It resembles a burning cross, the trademark of the KKK, who sees the Jews as Enemy One,” he says.

Now that the dust has settled on the circumcision ban (for the time being, at least), it will be interesting to see how both the Foreskin Man and Captain Israel comics play out. With dueling messages, it’s likely that readers will be in for some intriguing twists and turns along the way.

Hogwash, this is one more example of something done to men that’s not permitted against women, and would cause a riot at the U.S. Capitol if permitted to go on against women. Spare this registered Republican man: the discrimination, the blatant sexism (misandry) and the hypocrisy from the right. :-/

I’m as Christian conservative as they come, but I agree with Ray. It is genital mutilation no matter how you slice it, and it’s not anti-semetic because Christians do it too. I just will never understand how someone can have an adroable baby they love with all their hearts and then go “OK hand off to the doctor to trim his willy now!” Just will never click for me.

They will censor based on certain words and they will censor if a certain complaint threshold is reached.

Do you know that I have never officially complained about anything that I’ve read.. I find it very radical and Marxist to say the least that some people desire so deeply to keep others from saying and thinking certain things. And we all know who we are don’t we? lol

In the past week I’ve had atliest 3 comments which were not posted. I think I see that it depends on not only the presence of vulgarity but on the presence of threats and inflamitory statements. When I’ve reposted saying the same thing except “toned down” a little then the comments were posted. I’d like to know what the standards are and the cut off limits.

Little Jew kids all over have been clamouring the comic shops for years.
There simply is not enough supply for the demand of these comics.
Top ten selling titles over the past three years alone have been topped by the Jews.
      1.The Amzing Evron-man

Awesome! I only wish they would have made the “Land for Peace” negotiated land give-a-ways more graphic (all of them) as I believe people REALLY need to understand that “Land for Peace” has never worked and will never work.. ALL of it belongs to Israel.

The Palestinians are following Hitlers plans almost to the “T”… read history about how he started his worldwide conquest… He declared Austria as “Occupied” German land and it gave him a reason to invade…. The propaganda campaign is following the EXACT same course. Study history my friends…

Magen David — Shield of David, commonly called the Star of David.

It’s a later symbol of Israel or Jews. In ancient times, the Menorah was far more common.

I always figured The Star of David would make a good shield or at the very least, sharpen it to become thrown weapon similiar to what the Ninja Jews used to fight Captain Israel in 1988′s miniseries “Captain Israel vs Jew Ninjas.”
As for the actual Menorah seen here in the article, it’s been passed down from one legacy to the next asside from the 2002 reboot of the Captain Israel series when they intoduced the Mystic Captain Israel who weilded an astral projected Menorah. It didn’t take on with the Jew readers who were unwilling to pay for the rebooted title with their own money.

It’s a “Seal of Solomon” from the mystical magical side of the religion.

From what I understand, David never used the symbol so I think calling it a “Star of David” is one of those decietful traps.

From what I understand, it was part of Solomon’s magical apparatus to summon demons.

But either way, Star of David or Seal of Solomon, what can’t be argued is that the first use of the symbol is on Magical Charms and Amulets.

Personally, I don’t think God looks favorably at the symbol and those who use it. Synagogue of Satan.

in my opinion at this time.
