An accident on a highway near Grass Valley, Calif., last Thursday was like that of a Hollywood movie scene.
Car and semi-truck crash. Diesel fuel from the semi leaks onto the highway. The driver of the car remains inside the vehicle unconscious. Enter heroic FedEx truck driver to rescue the unconscious motorist in the nick of time.

KCRA reports 11-year FedEx employee Scott Teuscher saying he saw the female driver of the Honda Civic, which was already on fire when fuel began leaking from the semi.

Scott Teuscher rescued a woman from an accident scene just seconds before her car exploded. (Image: KTVU screenshot)
In an interview with local news stations, including KTVU, Teuscher said he first thought everyone was out of the vehicles when he arrived on the scene. Asking spectators if everyone was alright, Teuscher said, “they said ‘well here’s the truck driver.‘ And I said ’OK, what about the car?‘ They said ’we don’t know.‘ I said ’you don’t know?!’” That’s when he kicked it into high gear, seeing the woman in the car and removing her.
Teuscher said it was “literally 30 seconds later” that the car exploded after he removed the woman who was later taken to the hospital.

Still, Teuscher doesn’t consider his actions heroic.
“I would just hope someone would do the same thing for me and my family.”
In true movie-script form, Teuscher went back to completing his work once the woman was taken away by paramedics.

Posted on July 18, 2012 at 10:09amWonderful man and really, who would ‘drop their i-phone’ in order to actually save someone these days.
Now the reality: This driver will be pulled in to the FedEx office and strongly reprimanded (leave without pay, etc.) if he’s lucky, otherwise he will simply be fired. Why? He went against policy and left his truck / route for reason other than policy allows. It’s a twisted sick world, and there are people who probably bitched to F/E because their delivery was 20min. late. Big ol‘ FedEx isn’t going to give a rats behind why this man did what he did, simply that he went against policy. And ”god forbid” if this wonderful man didn’t lock his truck prior to saving this womans life, and “corporate office” WILL check the entire time frame. These trucks are ‘wired’ to record everything the driver does, including how many left turns the vehicle made in a 30 day period.
Summary: If America and OWS is supposed to be all about equality and ‘love’, this would be an everyday story. But these days most people would be digging for their i-phones to video that next big “youtube hit”, instead of being a true hero like this man. GREAT JOB! You deserve a vacation bonus for thinking about this person in need instead of the stern ‘hand slap’ coming your way!

Posted on July 18, 2012 at 10:34amActually, FedEx is pretty liberal (not Liberal) with their policies. Or they have been in the past.

Posted on July 18, 2012 at 2:26amHe totally delivered “The Purple Promise”. This isn’t the first time we had one of our drivers do something like this. Glad to see somebody go above and beyond in helping their fellow man.

Posted on July 18, 2012 at 12:32amThere are still good people out there, thanks Scott.
What’s sad is he had to ask other people watching if every one got out of the vehicles. They apparently had no concern about the occupant in the car or were Democrats!

Posted on July 17, 2012 at 6:45pmNo, Obama saved this lady. If it weren’t for the fact that He (the Gov’t) provided the roads for the FedRX guy to drive on, the FedEx guy could not have been there in the first place. Thanks Obama you deserve a metal. As for the FedEX guy he shoud thank the Gov’t for allowing him to drive on the road.

Posted on July 17, 2012 at 5:51pmShut up stupid. I know a few UPS drivers and they are decent Americans, family people just like the majority. Just because they are forced to be union to get a decent job especially in this economy does not make them inhuman as you are attempting to portray them all here.

Report Post »You are right: not all Union members are bad. There are still some decent people in Unions, too.
American Unions are like Unions and the Communist Party of the USSR: the membership was the only way to make the person’s life more or less survivable in exchange for selling the soul.
But nevertheless a few people managed to remain decent.
