Caribbean Cruise Ship Rescues Cuban Refugees Adrift in Atlantic

Vacationers were enjoying their last hours aboard a luxury cruise liner Sunday when passengers spotted a small raft carrying six Cuban refugees floating in the Atlantic Ocean.

Royal Caribbean’s Monarch of the Seas was sailing back to Port Canaveral, Fla., from the Bahamas when it approached the sinking raft carrying five females and one male bound for the U.S. from Cuba. The raft’s passengers were picked up and received food, water and medical treatment. But once the cruise liner reached U.S. shores, the Coast Guard was waiting to take them into custody.

Some think they can count on the military to save our freedom. The inlisted maybe the officers not so much. If we don’t stop him our freedom is at risk.

Just what the taxpayers need. More mouths to feed. The cruise line picked them up. Let the cruise line support them or take them back to Cuba.

We had that hapen a few years ago. Stopped the ship in the middle of the Gulf. They needed gas for their piece of crap boat. If they got on the ship they would be sent back to Cuba.

I can only imagine their awe at such a large ship filled with all the fruits of capitalism. Abundant food, not yet limited by central planners as it might be with the new Food Safety regulations. A place where everyone can speak freely not yet fearing censorship as we might with Net Neutrality and FCC intrusion. Can you imagine their awe at stepping on to a vessel where middle and upper class people can both enjoy the fruits of their labor by enjoying a holiday at sea. Oh what tales they could have told those on board. A tale of their life’s journey filled with government control and oppression, food shortages, medicine shortages, power outages; a place where speaking out against your government can deliver a swift answer in the form of a rapidly deployed thug squad that will make you shut the heck up. It would have been more humane to throw them some rations and let destiny decide their fate. God help them when they are returned. God help us that we not become them.
