Carter: Biggest Failure of My Presidency Was Not Winning Reelection

Jimmy Carter continues to make headlines with his assessments of today’s politics and reminiscence of his own time in office. In an interview with Big Think, the former president admits that his biggest failure as President of the United States was that he didn’t get four more years in office.
“I guess my biggest failure was not getting reelected,” Carter said.
And what did the southern Democrat learn from his 1980 electoral loss to Ronald Reagan? “[N]ot to ever let American hostages be held for 444 days in a foreign country without extracting them.” He adds, “I did the best I could, but I failed.”
Carter also claimed that Sen. Ted Kennedy’s challenge in the Democratic primaries “cost me a lot of votes,“ and that he ”should have paid more attention to the organization of the Democratic Party.”
“I was not only the leader of our nation, but I was also the leader of the Democratic Party. And I think I failed in that respect to keep the party united.”
In addition, Carter says that America has lost its competitive edge, the U.S. is ready for a gay president and Israel should withdraw from Palestinian territory:

Typical Liberal Progressive, never what we did was wrong or we didn’t do right, it is always, I didn’t do enough or do it fast enough, or better yet – if they people were smart enough to get it, I would always win. I know you are not supposed to hate, but his Palestinian sycophantry is stomach turning.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 11:29pmYou hit all of the points I was going to make except 1:
The country as a whole was so divided and so depressed at the end of his term. For all of the love of Reagan now, he was in the right place at the right time but he was hated at the time for the first 2 years. Even though Carter left him with high unemployment and 20% home mortgage interest rates, it was still blamed on Reagan that he couldn’t fix it in 2 years. His actions regarding taxes and spending did not take hold until his second term. In his first term he was vilified in the Press.
The left thought he was taking money and food from the Homeless and that he was going to cause WW III by taking on Russia in an Arms race.
Reagan failed at one thing: Stopping the spending and stopping the baseline budgeting process that began during his term. From their government budgets have grown and grown. Until we fix this one issue, we will never stop the growth of government.

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 8:53pmOMFG .- Invasion of the Brain Snatchers. Does self-pity on the Left contribute to their self-righteousness? They’re never wrong, you know. Carter sold out the Shah, our friend, to pave the way for Ahmenidinejad. Israel offered to help with the Iranian Hostage rescue, but Carter spurned our ally and 17 American soldiers lost their lives in a failed mission due to a sand-storm, a natural act of God. Not to mention huge unemployment during his term and 20% inflation. YEA JIMMY – Who wouldn’t want more of that? (unless you’re Pelosi, Reid, Obama, et. al. of scum potentate-poseurs)
Did Carter learn his lesson? No. He makes nicey-nicey with Hamas. Calls Israelis occupiers in their own land. Wants 20th century Arab squatters and their descendants(look it up) to build all over Jewish tribal land yet not one more “settlement” for the sons and daughters of Abraham.
Carter is part of the Progressive-DADA disease. Watch artist Marc Rubin’s Viral Video expose on Progressive-DADA (its true name) politic: http://www.marcrubin.com/dada2.ivnu
As one viewer wrote the artist:
“It is my hope that your message will be seen and understood by millions. I think you have done a great service and I pray that we will all see the beauty and reject the ugliness of those who would send us all to hell.”
I am not the artist. His job is to create, I am here with the heads-up.
And it gets better. THE META-FACTS OF HISTORY SINCE 3000 BCE is the Progressive “framework”. See how it emerged as a consequence of natural disaster which caused the first wars of civilization and subsequent rewriting of history..Listen: Historic Israel National Radio interview of artist Marc Rubin at http://www.marcrubin.com/judean-eve.ivnu

Posted on December 14, 2010 at 9:06pmActually, most of the squatters in the so-called “West Bank” are Syrian, not Arabs. When Jews made Aliyah and turned Israel back into a land of milk and honey, the King of Syria sent huge amounts of squatters to live in untended Jewish Tribal Land. Islam demands fighting the Jews, and the return of the Jews to Israel was a bad omen for Islam.
Funny the Koran also says Jews are entitled to their homeland, and that the homeland is theirs. The standard Muslim interpretation is that Jews sinned against their prophets and lost their right to a homeland. Muslims also say that Jews are idolators and worship the false God of Uzaid (or some name I can’t remember) — which, as a Jew who follows the Ten Commandments, was news to me.
How convenient when you want to steal somebody’s homeland. Say their deed is invalid and enforce it by violence. Ain’t gonna work fellas.
