Former President Jimmy Carter believes Barack Obama will be re-elected in November, but just in case he’s not, Carter said he’d be “comfortable” with Mitt Romney in the White House — and cited Romney’s past as a “moderate” and “progressive” as a reason.
“I think President Obama will be re-elected,” Carter said in an interview broadcast Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Jansing and Co.” “I think of all the Republican candidates who were prominent, I think Romney would be the one that I would rather see have the slight possibility to be president.”
“You’d be comfortable with a Romney presidency?” host Chris Jansing asked.
“I’d rather have a Democrat,” Carter said. “But I’d be comfortable. I think Romney has shown in the past in his previous years as a moderate – a progressive – that he was fairly competent as a governor and also running the Olympics. As you know he’s a good solid family man.”
Carter, noting Romeny’s “changeable” positions, said the former Massachusetts governor has “gone to the extreme right wing to get nomination” — something that will benefit Obama.
“I think he’s gone too far in the conservative positions to suit the average American, that’s why I think President Obama is going to be re-elected,” Carter said.
Last year, Carter said he’d be “very pleased” to see Romney get the Republican nomination for president.

Posted on April 25, 2012 at 11:10pmI am a Ron Paul supporter. This election season, no candidate will
get my vote for the Office of President of the United States of America
except for Ron Paul. There will be no exceptions. If he does not win the
nomination, I will write his name on the ballot.
No amount of slick talking, flip-flopping, wooing, cajoling,
threatening, or condescending will persuade me to vote for any other
contender for that office.
You don’t want to admit it, but you know that the Republican Party
cannot beat Obama without me, a Ron Paul supporter. It’s long past time
you admit it.
You and I have conflicting goals. I will only cast a vote for
liberty, for peace, for small government, for fiscal sanity and respect
for the Constitution of the United States and adherence to the oath of
office of the Presidency.
You however, are content merely to vote for
whatever Republican the GOP leadership and the media approve of.
I will not move. I cannot be persuaded. You cannot win without me.
I am not here to convince you that Ron Paul’s positions are superior.
I am not here to convince you that his foreign policy is in line with
traditional conservatism. I am not here to convince you that his.
understanding of economics puts everyone else in Washington to shame. I
am not even here to convince you that the positions of the other.
candidates are not materially different than Obama.
No, I don’t need to do any of that. I only need to tell you that

We have to take any choice placed before us if we want to see Obama rejoin his thug friends in Chicago. I would really like to see Obama behind bars where he belongs but that chance is slim, too many just like him among us. Carter hates to see Obama lose bc he is enjoying being called the second worst president too and he figures 4 more years would guarantee that title.

Report Post »RabbiDRJerkins
Posted on April 25, 2012 at 5:34pmNo one with integrity believes that Romney is conservative. He might, quality as “moderate” in a left-leaning way, but before he could tip the scales over to conservative he would have to show some evidence of integrity.
Report Post »DoctorC
Posted on April 25, 2012 at 7:45pmRabbidJerkins, Romney certainly is not the first choice for most of us, but he does have integrity and is infinitely better than Obama so please stop criticizing him. Unless you are a liberal troll on this site, if you are a patriot, the goal now whether you like it or not is to deal with what we have and stop throwing out negative stuff about Romney. There may still be some undecideds out there who may not go and vote if people like you keep spewing vitriol about Romney. The only way that we will be able to remove Obama at this point is to suck it up and support Romney as much as we can. The nominating process is as good as over. There is no chance that Romney will not be the nominee so if we can’t say anything good about him, we need to not say anything at all. Everything negative that we say about Romney here or on other social sites could possibly mean votes for Obama.

Posted on April 25, 2012 at 4:14pmHah, Gonzo… “Trying to like the guy”… We know you’re actually not a Romney supporter deep down. You know he’s a liberal/progressive and you wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of the “I told you so’s” onslaught from Paul supporters if he were actually able win and reveal himself. Of course we know the election is already rigged anyway, so… whatever. You are funny.

No conservative will ever vote for Romney. You have to abandon such principles to pull THAT lever.
To paraphrase:
What profiteth it a man (or a nation) if he gain an election at the cost of his soul?
All people of character face this question now. What will you choose? The Lord? …or….. ?
Report Post »DoctorC
Posted on April 25, 2012 at 7:56pmRabbidrjerkins you are either a troll or a Ron Paul wacko. Romney is certainly not a true conservative, but those of us who are true conservatives realize that in the system we have, we sometimes must choose between the lesser of two evils. If enough of you liberatarians sit home and don’t vote, or if Ron Paul goes rogue and runs as a write in or a third party candidate, Obama WILL win and America will go to he11. Romney is not ideal for any of us true patriots, but he is no worse than McCain and you would have to be either mentally substandard or insane if you think that McCain would have been as bad as Obama. Romney will need all of us who love America to vote for him or we WILL have Obama. Deal with it and stop b1tching about Romney. He’s not conservative, but he’s a whole lot better than the socialist in there now.
