Casey Anthony Lawyer Caught on Camera Flipping Off the Media

Yesterday, Casey Anthony defense lawyer Cheney Mason delivered a scathing critique of the media, accusing “biased, prejudiced, and incompetent talking heads“ of ”media assassination.” Apparently, his crusade against the media continued after the press conference, as the Associated Press caught him giving the media the middle finger afterwards at a local restaurant:

Casey Anthony Lawyer Caught on Camera Flipping Off the Media

Local station WESH-TV explains what happened:

On Tuesday afternoon, after a not guilty verdict was read in Casey Anthony’s murder trial, Mason was seen using his middle finger at a downtown Orlando restaurant.

An Associated Press photographer captured the photo.

Mason apparently used the gesture toward reporters peering through a window while he and the rest of the Anthony defense team celebrated their victory.

Mason’s use of the gesture is especially curious considering that a young man was recently sentenced to six days in jail for doing the same thing while cameras were rolling during the trial.

This is the same guy who excoriated the press for “character assassination,” after his defense team assassinated the character of George, Cindy and Lee Anthony, Roy Kronk, and everyone else but the defendant, who was shown to be a pathological liar and very possibly a child murderer.

Let them have their celebration. And let the world see that even so-called ‘esteemed lawyers’ can be morons. Mandatory lawyer joke: What’s black and tan and looks good on a lawyer? A rottweiller!

He’s obviously been very successful and helped a lot of people, he’s been Pres. of American Bar for defense attorneys (his web site says) and he’s no light weight. He also doesn’t mince words or obviously fingers. As if none of us have ever done that.

As much as the ‘liberal’ press already convicted her and threw her under bus, they are lucky it’s only his finger.I can’t understand why people are so thrilled over this case that they would stand overnight just so they can get a front row seat. This little child who died needs to be honored by the press not this messed up family.I’m only speculating but it seems this child died by accident and this immature mother got scared and it snowballed from there.

My thoughts as well as to this. More than likely the mother was neglectful, her child died then she tried to cover up her own neglectfulness. But that is not make it murder. Tragic, yes. Murder, no.

I guess it is O.K. to give someone the finger outside the court room. That poor guy who is spending six days in jail should have waited until the prosecutor was out of the court room before he flipped him off. At least we know they are on the same team, because we can read their hand signals.

Yes a baby is dead, but a jury of her peers, which is how our system works, says this mom did not kill her daughter, so the attorney can rest at night because he did his job. It may not be pretty but it is the best judicial system in the world – so don’t judge the attorney for doing his job.

I’m just wondering if any of you think the baby will return to life by putting Casey on death row. The attorney certainly did a great job and the jurors followed the law in coming up with a verdict. Because some of you think you have all the answers, maybe it actually was a horrific accident that made her so frightened she hid the body to try to figure out what to do. That’s what the alternate Juror thought & I did too. She looked very much a mother who cared for her daughter in those videos. Who are any of us to make a decision on what happened & what punishment should have been doled out?? A 25 year old woman who seems less than bright. Two parents that went through hell……Let’s give them more grief. :(

BTW, finding a young woman guilty and putting her on death row without any real proof would be really horrible….unless you all think you‘re psychic’s. Sheesh!

He’s right. The media positioned themselves as jury and judge and tried the case in public. None of us were in the courtroom. Those folks in the courtroom were us. Do you suppose maybe our peers knew what they were doing? The media made the story about the media’s opinion. This kind of “reporting” should be illegal. If any one should be in jail it should be Nancy Grace.

If 70 % of public surveyed ( a stat I just heard) think she is guilty of something.. then not 1 person on that jury thought she was guilty? I think something is very wrong here.. maybe that is why they refuse to speak.. maybe they pressured others to change their mind.. I don’t know.. but something doesn’t add up logically

Mason and Simms were rediculous after the verdict! First Simms is giving Baez the “your the man” routine while on camera in the courtroom. Then Mason’s verbal lashing of the media in the presser shortly after the verdict. A couple of tools if you ask me.

I give Baez credit. He was very reserved in his comments. I hope he can live with himself after Casey Anthony starts bragging about how she got away with murder.

How long will it be before Casey pulls and O.J. Simpson and states, “I will not rest until Caylee’s killer is found”. How long after that until Casey finds a way to profit from the death of her child?!

I think it’s more than fine for him to flip off the classless sensationalizing media who was ONCE AGAIN proven to be little more than lemmings to be led off the cliff of stupidity. Make no mistake, Casey Anthony either killed Caylee or knows who did and how but the prosecutors failed to connect even the simplest of dots here. Now, after 3 years of media assasination (they don’t report “facts” they attack characters) the media is getting what it deserves from the people they have smeared and slimed and turned into mud. I hope more people tell the media what they think og them in the near future.
