‘Casey the Punisher Annihilates Bully’ — Taiwanese Animated Version!

As we’ve reported, 16-year-old Casey Heynes has become an international symbol for anti-bullying after having a literal throw down with a young instigator at his Australian school. Like all hot news stories, Casey has gotten the animated YouTube treatment from Next Media Animation (NMA).
I don’t speak the language, but I‘m pretty sure there’s a universal lesson here for all of us:

Posted on March 16, 2011 at 10:32pmTotally agree. This happened to my 7 year old son as well. He decided that he would stop being the class clown in school and pay attention. His 3 friends took offense and kept bullying him into a fight for about a week. My son with tears streaming down his face, told me this on the way back from hockey.
I told him that if they continued he should just punch the bully in the nose. He said that they would attack him.
The next day I got a call at work saying my son hit the bully (friend) in the nose. They asked me to come down to the school and meet the staff. I told them of my advice to my son. They of course were horrified.
Guess what happened at the end of the school day? My son and his 3 friends were back together doing what boys do. Having fun.

Posted on March 16, 2011 at 7:34pmWhat I’ve noticed is that when people use the “reply” instead of going to the end of the postings and adding their post, the reply is inserted into the stack causing all earlier posts to shift down.
Report Post »One day I was looking at the post times and all the posts got scrambled. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to it.
If you feel your post was censored try reposting, maybe whatever caused it wasn’t purposeful censorship. I’d hope it to be a malfunction rather than an agenda.

Posted on March 16, 2011 at 7:03pmUnfortunately for Casey, I have a feeling he is likely dealing with the same thing a lot of students that are bullied have to deal with. My son has been bullied on several occasions. While some of the teachers and administrators seem concerned and actually do something when they are present, others do not care. In one instance, my daughter got out of the bus line to get a teacher to help her brother who was being bullied right that minute, and the teacher on duty was more concerned that my daughter was not in line than that my son was being pushed around not twenty feet from her.
While my school’s administrators have listened and done something when I have had a complaint about these issues, not all children are so lucky. While I do teach my children that hitting others and fighting is not the answer, I have also told them that if there is no other choice, they should do what they feel they have to and I will defend them to the principal/school board if I have to.

Posted on March 16, 2011 at 6:58pmNo her post is removed. As some of mine have been. Someone mentioned that the “report post” may be automated to automatically remove a post after so many complaints. I know for a fact that there are at least two users in here who go by multiple names. I do not know if they are changing their user name back and forth on the same account or if they registered multiple accounts. I just wonder if one of these idiots is not ganging up on particular people using all their users, or if you can report the same post multiple times.
One thing is sure, something is not right here and I do not appreciate it. Walkwithme may be a kool-aide drinker but she was always polite and deserves to have her opinion heard just the same as anyone else. I wish a staff member would get involved here and provide some answers.

I am curious why this regular member would be picked on when she has never said anything out of line or even argued with any other poster, even though she did have a liberal view. Especially when there are several other “trolls” that still post regularly and try to pick fights.

What we see under the article is page You have to go through many pages to see yours on a busy topic. Note to moderators: Please add a way to get to the last page quickly.

Posted on March 16, 2011 at 11:45pmA ‘bully’ is one who will take advantage of a smaller person or ANY person who has demonstrated a fear of fighting (some of us call it restraint). A bully will always continue his actions. By the sound of it, this kid was bullied on a daily basis.
When the bully is challenged, it will stop. It doesn’t matter who won the confrontation, the bully will no longer challenge because it is no longer considered ‘easy’.
You will notice that, at the end of the video, the tall kid ‘acted’ like he was going to do something for throwing down on the bully? Well, he didn’t,,,he acted like he was going to, but he didn’t. Why? Because he knew that the ‘easy prey’ was no longer easy prey. The bullying of this kid is over. Sometimes you HAVE TO MAKE A STAND…..it is unfortunate that one would HAVE to resort to physical violence to cease such advances,,,,but unfortunately that is the way it is.

Of course they will remove them if enough people report a post and i suspect they do not bother trying to read them or finding fault with anyone, they just pull the post and tough luck.
Anyway, you are right that you never have caused any problems and I value reading your opinions though I probably agree with you 1-2% of the time…Even so, that is what makes the world go ’round…
One thing though, threatening to air the issue on your blog is probably a futile and is certainly an amusing threat. I do not think they much care and I seriously doubt critical remarks on your blog are going to make much difference to traffic here. I have learned in 15 years on forum/chatroom experience that if a site starts irritating you it is best to just shut up and leave. Lord knows I have done that so many times…

I haven’t seen any news stories Casey is being sued, but I read the other kid’s mom demands an apology. Her view is that the worldwide attention is putting an unfair and unwanted spotlight on her family. Of course, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if bully mommy did file with legal authorities down there.

You guys are missing the bigger story that the video was telling, i.e., the little kid was actually a sycophant for the bigger kid who was protecting him, as was the troublemaker doing the videography. When I first saw the vid, I thought “Yes! Well deserved beatdown!” As I watched a couple of more times and learned the ages of the kids involved, and considered the fact that the video cut off when it looked like the bigger kid was going after Casey, I realized that Casey’s real fight was with him, and that’s who he should have dealt with from the beginning. I don’t feel sorry for the kid who got the SmackDown!, but, I don’t think Casey solved the bigger problem, i.e., Skut Farkis.

If you get punched in the face what are you supposed to do. Then get openly mocked by a bunch of punks while it happened. Not only did he end the situation quickly but he also didn’t kick the idiot while he was down. How many of us would have taken those free shots? So dont try and say self dicipline when the kid already did nothing after being hit full fisted in the face. If anything he showed that well enough. AND HE IS A KID!!!!! It looks like to me that he‘s already pretty famous but I hope he’s got enough sense to tell Oprah to “go fly a kite” if she invites him on her show.
While the so-called “experts” say that he was wrong for doing what he did, he did what he had to do.
