Casey the Punisher’s Infamous Bully Points Finger: ‘He Abused Me First’

The infamous schoolyard confrontation that captured the attention of the world last week is now playing out as a battle on news stations and websites.
As we’ve reported, Casey Heynes snapped when Ritchard Gale relentlessly bullied him. Casey’s raw reaction immediately drew sympathy from people who’ve suffered the emotional distress of being bullied. With public support firmly on Casey’s side, however, Ritchard is now claiming he was a victim and that Casey started the fight:
Casey has said he’s been a target of school bullies his whole life because he never retaliates. But 13-year-old Ritchard says he’s also been bullied and that Casey provoked him into fighting, calling him a “class idiot.” Ritchard also claims it was Casey who threw the first punch.
Judging by the original video, it seems hard to believe Casey could have started the fight, but Ritchard insists, “He abused me first.”
When asked if he’s sorry for the fight, Ritchard says no, but changes his mind after his father signals him to off-camera.

Peter Gale maintains that bullying behavior is out of character for his son.
Meanwhile, Casey is not apologizing and believes his actions were justified.
At the end of the interview, Richard was asked if he will ever bully again, to which he responded: “most probably not.”

To give you a bit of background- the two main network channels are 7 an 9. Both air so-called current affairs shows at 6:30 PM- Nine shows A Current Affair, Seven shows Today Tonight. The are bitter enemies- often attacking each other directly. This all started when ACA interviewed Casey for a Sunday night edition (first time it’s been on a Sunday). Not to be outdone, TT interviewed the bully on Monday. I didn’t watch TT, I had watched ACA with the second part of the Casey interview, then ACA aired the TT interview – highly unusual given the rivalry between the two! The problem with both programs is they try to out smear each other, and thus result in tacky journalism! Both networks are now taking advantage of two young children!

He’s making general accusations. As for this being out of character for him, no its not. Its out of character in front of his parents, but when he has a bunch of older bullies backing him up, he’s quite used to being their toady and doing their dirty work. Wake up, parents, if you want to see your son dead in a gang incident in a few years, keep making it out to be someone elses fault. If you want him to grow up and have a useful life, make sure he understands that you know he did this, and you expect it never to happen again. My guess is that your son is doing what he’s seen you and your estranged wife modeling for him.

Even if Casey had “taunted” him earlier, Gale threw a punch and hit Casey square on the jaw. Casey warns Richard, over and over, not to “do that”, and Richard could’ve walked away. No….he keeps it up, and got his just deserves. Instead of being a learning moment to all involved, this story has become a media circus. Let’s interview the fathers…separately of course, to ask if they’ve had discussions with their sons about appropriate behavior while at school. I agree…I wish this story would just go away.

Let‘s see if he learns anything from this but my guess is that he won’t. There was too much hesitation when he was asked whether he would bully again.

Kids do not know how to fight or know what could happen. He could have killed your stupid kid. If that would have happened, I would have mourned for the bully, but I would have been incensed that Casey would now have to live with that death for the rest of his life. After child protective services executed an emergency removal of the child, a Liberal judge ruled that the parents could only make him go to church once a week. In that same state, another Liberal judge removed a teenager from her parents home because the parents would not let her stay out late and smoke pot. These judges based their legal authority on international law and on the U.N. Rights of the Child treaty, which has not even been ratified by the U.S. Senate.

Maybe now, he can take that ridiculous piercing out of his eyebrow and start walking the straight and narrow. That said, minors should not be allowed to post videos on the web, this kid obviously has a low self esteem problem and having adults and millions of people around the world bag on him may drive him over the edge. They both need counseling.

UNTIL the day a big kid took him up on it and he ended up with a LOT of stiches in the back of his head. I guess this kid is a SLOW LEARNER!

I can’t believe some of you. These aren’t a couple of 25-year-old men we’re talking about. This kid is a scrawny little 12-year-old who obviously has a problematic home life. Judging by his parents, he did not win the gene pool lottery. He received his just punishment with the body slam…no need for adults to continue to pile on well after the fact. That’s just sick.
They’re just two boys who had an altercation. Been there, done that. Part of growing up is learning how to handle things better and not resorting to throwing punches at the slightest insult. The older you get, the better possibility there is that someone gets seriously hurt.
As for his claim, who knows? The video only picks up part of the altercation. No one here knows what transpired up to that point…if words were exchanged prior to the start of the video. It’s pretty tough to call someone a liar unless you were there when it happened.
But come on! Leave these kids alone already. It’s bad enough that the video has been shown all over the world.
The brow piercing already suggests a warped sense of values or a lack of discipline in his house. If little Ritchard is acting out, wouldn‘t it make sense to find out why he’s so angry and deal with that? To break the cycle before he’s old enough to REALLY hurt someone? Geez, the kid’s crying out for help and he has to deal with people telling him to “burn in hell?” Seriously? Get a grip.
At least “JBLAZE” gets it. I shudder to think that some of you might actually be parents. Unbelievable. The longer I’m here, the more this place is starting to resemble Breitbart…all the way down to the lunatic fringe commentary.

Posted on March 23, 2011 at 1:10amThis is a sad story, but one that is as old as time. Bullying stories like this have come to light because of the technology available to us today.. The lesson for all of us is that when one child picks on another, in such a way, it is because they feel very poorly about themselves. This is what I remind my own kids if someone has said something “mean” to them. My third grade son was getting picked on by a group of girls because I hadn’t had an opportunity to hit the grocery store, due to a busy schedule, and instead of packing his lunch, I had to drop a “subway” lunch for him a couple of times during the week. They were awesome lunches complete with chocolate milk and a big cookie. The girls said he was a “spoiled brat” because I dropped him off such lunches. It became a daily comment and He was frustrated because they were girls, and he knew it would be innappropriate to react the way he would if it had been a bunch of boys giving him a hard time. So, I told him that the best way to handle the comments was with kindness. The next day, when I dropped off his killer lunch, I included 3 huge cupcakes for the girls. My son gave them to the girls and said, “I asked my Mom to get you all a treat because you’ve been bummed out about your lunches. They happily took the cupcakes and he hasn’t heard a negative word since. Now I know that kind of solution wouldn’t work with every situation and my son does have permission to defend himself in more serious circumstances, but we‘ve got to teach our kids to put themselves in someone else’s shoes. I take every opportunity (I call them “teachable moments”) to point out the feelings of others, to my kids. And I try like heck (Even though at times it’s almost impossible) to model the kind of behavior that I want my children to display. That is a parent’s job. Thank God I had a Mom and Dad who taught me this lesson and I’m passing it on.
