If there are any up and coming bands in need of a lead guitarist, take a look at this 14-year-old girl. We’re not being sarcastic or being overly complimentary. This girl’s guitar skills are unreal.

In a video uploaded on YouTube Monday, 14-year-old Tina shows off her ridiculously amazing guitar chops with her flawless rendition of the solo from Van Halen’s “Eruption.”

The clip is only about a minute and a half, but it only takes about 15 seconds to see that Tina is the real deal. Her video currently has more than 300,000 views in just a few days.

As the Yahoo! blog “The Sideshow” points out, Tina has been uploading videos of herself playing guitar for years. And she was still awesome when she was 11 in 2008. Watch that clip here:

Some people on the streets of Los Angeles apparently haven’t a clue when it comes to government in the City of Angels, as Jimmy Kimmel’s “Lie Witness News” squad so painfully points out. These Hollywood Boulevard pedestrians were queried on their feelings about L.A.’s newly elected mayor, Bruce Jenner.

For those not in the know, as one respondent remarked, he’s “that Kardashian Guy”…

Anyway, as this first interviewee calls himself “Christmas,” we’ll give him a provisional present and not be too hard on him since he claims he’s from Massachusetts.

But still…“Honestly, it makes sense, for someone’s who’s always in the media”? C’mon, dude.

The next respondent (the one who recalled proudly that Jenner is “that Kardashian guy”) agreed that Jenner’s “experience” would come in handy (once the questioner revealed that he “used to be the Governor of New York in the 70s”). Ouch…

It got worse as other folks proceeded to comment on “Mayor” Jenner’s proposals to enact a “tax-free plastic surgery week,” as well as “legalize marijuana for house pets with anxiety” and “ban Uggs during summertime.”

J. Russell George, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, is known today as the man who helped unearth the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative groups.

But to one Virginia congressman, George is also notable for having once “dated” First Lady Michelle Obama.

No, really.

“[G]eorge has operated in these halls of power his entire career. He worked for Dole, and then in President George H.W. Bush’s White House,” writes Shane Goldmacher for National Journal.

“In between, he attended Harvard Law School, graduating in 1988 alongside a young Michelle Obama (then Michelle Robinson),” he adds.

Goldmacher continues:

They weren’t in the same section – the academic groupings that Harvard uses to divide its students – but as two young black law students, George said they traveled in some of the same social circles, including the Black Law Students Association (BLSA).

“I think he actually dated Michelle at one point,” said former Rep. Tom Davis, a Virginia Republican, who worked with George when he was staff director for a House oversight subcommittee in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

“That is overstating it,” said George. But they did socialize in group settings. “Michelle was a lovely person and down to earth,” he said. “…The BLSA went out for pizza we would go out together.”

He paused, for a beat. “Don’t get me in trouble,” George added.

Of course, this whole thing is a matter of perspective and it all depends on how you define “dating.” Even George says the claim in an overstatement.

Still, if George and the First Lady actually “went out” as the IG claims they did, and if he means “go out together” in the sense you and I usually think of, what a strange, little world we live in.

But that’s exactly what happened to one bride named Morgan. In a video from “America’s Funniest Home Videos” uploaded to YouTube on Friday, the bride, Morgan, is seen walking down the road in her wedding dress when a very fast dog named Tess busts out of the house and takes off after her.

Morgan tried to escape, but she was no match for the dog’s speed. When Tess eventually caught up to her, the canine tackled her to the ground.

Saturday marked the final show for departing “SNL” cast member Bill Hader, and with it the end of his beloved fictional city correspondent Stefon. His goodbye had everything: Smurfs, human traffic cones, Alf…

Some background for the uninitiated: the flamboyant Stefon popped up from time to time on the show’s “Weekend Update” segment to offer his take on “New York’s hottest club” — always describing lavish, ultra-bizarre scenes that caused Hader to break character and crack up.

And Stefon, perpetually in love with “Weekend Update” host Meyers, always had his advances rebuffed — until Saturday. But by then, Meyers had to race to beat the clock — and Cooper — to make everything right.

Rarely inconspicuous rapper Kanye West did it again Saturday night, debuting tracks “New Slaves” and “Black Skinhead” on “Saturday Night Live” — and getting around the audio sensors.

According to the Huffington Post, West was clearly heard using the N-word during both racially-charged songs. “Black Skinhead” featured West uttering primal screams against imagery of snarling dogs, while in “New Slaves” he performed in front of a projection of a close-up of his face.

Filmmaker Michael Moore was impressed:

“Saturday Night Live” brought back its Al Sharpton routine, this time as the MSNBC host tried to puzzle his way through the “Uhrs” (that’s IRS) scandal.

“Republicans are mad because the Tea Party has been targeted by the ‘Uhrs’ — excuse me, the IRS,” introduced “Sharpton,” played by Keenan Thompson. “What they fail to realize is that this has been happening to us for 50 years.”

Moving on to Republican “conspiracy the-o-ryes” (theories) about the situation, Shaprton brought in Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank, played by Jason Sudeikis, to explain what was going on.

“Once again, Republicans are taking a real problem and attaching unreal political motives,” Milbank said

But Sharpton didn’t trust Milbank’s analysis — because he’s a man whose name is “Dana.”

“I’m going to call you Dan. A.,” Sharpton said.

Sharpton went on to show a clip of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell — that was really actor Matthew McConaughey. Sharpton wondered why all Republicans can’t be as laid back as “Senate Minority Leader Matthew McConnell.”

Milbank pointed out that the Tea Party does actually have a case, because there is evidence that the IRS was excessive. Sharpton pointed out that he’s had his own run-ins with the IRS.

“I’ll tell you about excessive, I owed the IRS $2.6 million dollars — due to all my mail being accidentally forwarded to Sylvia’s Restaurant in Harlem,” he said. “Don’t worry, I took care of it — they ain’t going to Wesley Snipes me!”

Sharpton then interviewed a Tea Party activist, dressed in colonial garb. Sharpton couldn’t understand his clothing, and asked if the man made horseshoes.

To close, Sharpton shared this nonsensical pearl of wisdom: “Like my grandmother always said, if there’s a frog in a bucket, someboy’s having waffles on Sunday.”

• After a tough news week for the Obama White House, Leno asked, “Can you be objective about this?”

“No!”

• On the Republican primary process, Leno said he thought it was funny to see Newt Gingrich attacking someone else for being wealthy and successful.

“It wasn’t funny to me!”

• Leno asked who Romney likes for 2016.

“Who looks good to you?”

“Republicans.”

• Romney said wife Ann is doing well and riding her horse to deal with the effects of her multiple sclerosis. But for people running for president in 2016 –

“Sell the horse, if you have one.”

Although you can’t hear the shots in the following video, the crowd’s reaction is unmistakable:

Waltz was doing the interview for French news program called Le Grand Journal. After the shots were fired, security rushed him from the stage.

“Television footage showed Waltz, other guests and crew scrambling from the seaside stage as a voice said ‘there’s someone shooting,’” the Associated Press reports.

“When transmission resumed minutes later, host Michel Denisot said the noise had been caused by blanks. There were no reports of injuries,” the report continues. “Local newspaper Nice-Matin reported that a man was detained by police with a starter’s pistol, a pocket knife and a plastic grenade.”

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney appeared on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Live” Thursday night to answer questions related to the three separate scandals that have turned the federal government on its head over the last two weeks.

Carney’s answers summed up: There are no scandals.

“You’re concocting scandals that don’t exist,” Carney said, when show host Piers Morgan asked how the Obama administration would “restore the faith that some Americans have lost” in its transparency.

“Especially with regard to the Benghazi affair that was contrived by Republicans and, I think, has fallen apart largely this week,” Carney said.

He continued, “The fact of the matter is that this administration has a record on transparency that outdoes any previous administrations. And we are committed to that. The president is committed to that.”

Beginning last week when several high-level government officials testified on what happened leading up to the attack on an American consulate in Libya in September, two other scandals potentially implicating the Obama administration have developed: One in which the IRS unfairly targeted conservative non-profits for scrutiny, the other involving the Department of Justice secretly seizing the phone records of Associates Press reporters and editors last year.

Regarding the Benghazi attack, Carney dismissed it as “a faux controversy stirred up by Republicans.”

On the IRS issue: “When [President Obama] found out… that there had been inappropriate and wrong conduct by IRS personnel… he spoke out about it, he made clear he thought it was an outrage and he has taken action.” (Acting IRS Director Steven Miller submitted his resignation Wednesday.)

And on the Associated Press scandal, which Obama has only commented on to say that the White House had no knowledge of: “It is entirely inappropriate for a president… to engage in… a criminal investigation.”

At the start of the program, Carney said it’s been “a challenging week, but a week that I’ve enjoyed.”

If you are a harsh critic of the National Rifle Association and/or guns, you probably won’t enjoy listening to the music of Texas country music star Kevin Fowler.

And he doesn’t really care.

“If guns piss you off, if beer pisses you off, if any of the things that I sing about piss you off, you’re probably not coming to my show anyway. If hunting pisses you off, you’re not coming to my show — so I don’t give a damn whether it pisses you off,” Fowler told TheBlaze on his tour bus parked outside Rockin Rodeo in Denton, Texas, last week.

“If the NRA pisses you off, I’m sorry…tough s**t,” he added.

That’s why he didn’t think twice about playing at the NRA Country Jam during the organization’s annual conference in Houston earlier this month.

Fowler, known for his brutal honesty both on and off the stage, gladly weighed in on the never-ending gun control debate during an exclusive sit-down with TheBlaze on Thursday, less than an hour before he was set to play before a packed house in Denton.

The U.S. already has plenty of gun laws on the books, he said. Those laws just are not properly enforced.

“If you want to kill people, you can do it with a fork, you can do it with something you can buy at the hardware store, you can do it with a gun, you can do it with a knife, you can do it with a car, you can do it with a truck, you can do it however you want to,” he explained, stressing the importance of addressing the nation’s mental health problem.

“We have to figure out why all these nut jobs want to kill people, that’s the problem,” he added.

Fowler’s take on guns appears to line up with the theme of Glenn Beck’s keynote speech at the NRA convention: “It is the man, not the gun.”

The proud Texas native, born and raised around firearms, noted that he has plenty of guns — but they don’t sprout legs and go off and kill people.

However, despite his strong views on the Second Amendment, the country music star said he tries not to push his politics on his fans.

“I think our music is just beer-drinking, hell-raising, fun music, you know, it’s not serious,” he said. “I’m not out trying to save the whales…I don’t have any political agenda with the music, I try not to. It’s just about having fun.”

There are a lot of musicians who feel it is their job to “preach at” an audience, Fowler explained. But a live concert should be one place where people can go to let loose and just “forget about it all,” he added.

“I think music should be an escape. There’s enough stress in the world,” he said. “There’s enough bad stuff going on, I don’t need to remind you of that. Just come to the show and let’s rock out.”

We asked Fowler which song he would recommend to Blaze readers unfamiliar with his work. He suggested his classic tune “Beer, Bait and Ammo,” a song that country music legend George Jones liked so much he actually recorded his own version.

Fowler’s music is available in stores, on iTunes, and pretty much anywhere else you can purchase good tunes. He’s also currently on tour and may be coming to a city near you.

And regardless of what you may think of Fowler’s music or personal views, no one can argue that he doesn’t put on a good show.

TheBlaze stuck around for his entire set and witnessed the electric atmosphere of a true Texas country music show. Seemingly every patron in the smokey club could sing the lines to all the songs and several couples danced the night away on a modest dance floor sprinkled with cornmeal (for boot scootin’).

Women were also perched on men’s shoulders so they could get a better view of Fowler serenading the crowd. TheBlaze gives you a front row seat to Fowler’s live show in Denton with some exclusive footage.

Moriarty, perhaps aware that there had been a big change in Perry’s career but unaware of the details, remarked: “You know, for a guy like you, big news today! A congratulations is in order.”

Perry, well-known for his role in the hit show “Friends,” just had his new NBC Show “Go On” cancelled after just one season.

Without missing a beat he replied: “Oh thank you. You’re talking about my show getting cancelled?”

As the reporter nods with a frozen look on his face, Perry continues in stride: “Yes, it was sort of a sad day because of the people.  I mean I miss them…Ah, but, you know this show I was doing was really getting in the way of Kings games, so it’s okay.”

“So it’s a double-edged sword congratulations,” Moriarty concluded, quickly changing the conversation back to sports.

But on Monday, some started getting suspicious. The website The Smoking Gun has been leading the charge with facts such as this about the couple, Will and Monifa Sims:

Will and Monifa are both trained actors who founded a theater company in Chicago before relocating to Hollywood. Monifa, whom Chicagoist once described as a “Chicago actress of some reknown,” previously won a nationwide dramatic auditions contest by the cable network TNT.

Additionally, Monifa has been on the “Tonight Show” segment before, in 2011:

 While this doesn’t definitively prove that the segment was staged, it does raise some questions worth acknowledging in light of the video’s massive success (in just one weekend, the clip already accounts for over a quarter of all The Tonight Show‘s YouTube views).

As for the couple, they told the Chicago Sun-Times that the producers purposefully did not mention their “history” so as not to raise suspicion.

“[The producers] didn’t want [people] to think we were actors and it was a ‘plant’,” Will said. “They were like, ‘You’re a bartender and she’s a fitness [trainer].’”

And on Monday, they tried to put the rumor to rest by giving more information to The Smoking Gun.

In a TSG interview this afternoon, Monifa Sims contended that it was just a fluke that she appeared a second time on “Pumpcast News,” adding that, “When it happened again, I said, ‘I cannot believe it!’” Remarkably, the actress claimed that she and her husband never bothered to actually watch her first appearance on Leno’s top-rated program. “I’m not glued to my TV at night,” said Sims.

Asked why no mention was made of her prior “Pumpcast News” appearance (or her and Will’s acting careers), Sims said “Tonight Show” producers “don’t want people to think that they planned this thing.” She added, “We have been honest with them the whole time.”

Sims said that it was only after she and her husband did their karaoke tunes that Will realized that this was her second time around. Sims recalled, “He asked me, ‘Is this what you did before?’”

“This really is a one-in-a-million chance,” said Sims of appearing on Leno’s show. Well, perhaps two in a million.

So there you have it. Considering all that, do you think it was “probably staged” as Gawker’s headline suggests, or was it simply the couple being in the right place at the right time?

In between space walks and other minor tasks, Hadfield manged to put together a music video of his rendition of David Bowie’s classic single, “Space Oddity,” according to Variety.

In the video Hadfield strums his acoustic guitar, views the heavens from his “tin can far above the world,” and floats while reaching the Thin White Duke’s falsetto in passable fashion (for an astronaut).

Hadfield’s cover of the 1969 tune is something of a last hurrah, as today he gave command of the ISS to Russian cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov.

NEW YORK (TheBlaze/AP) — Seth Meyers is moving from his “Weekend Update” desk to his own late night show on NBC.

The network said Sunday that the 12-year “Saturday Night Live” cast member will replace Jimmy Fallon at the 12:35 a.m. “Late Night” show next year. Fallon is moving up an hour as Jay Leno’s replacement on the “Tonight” show.

Meyers was considered the lead candidate for the “Late Night” job ever since Fallon’s promotion was announced. The announcement solidifies Lorne Michaels as the comedy kingmaker at NBC. He’ll be the executive in charge of “Late Night,” “Tonight” and “Saturday Night Live,” which will all originate from New York’s Rockefeller Center.

Meyers, 39, has been the head writer at “Saturday Night Live” for eight seasons. He’s in his seventh year as “Weekend Update” host, to which he devotes all of his on-air time now.

And like Fallon before him, Meyers is making the move from “Weekend Update” to “Late Night.”

“We think Seth is one of the brightest, most insightful comedy writers and performers of his generation,” said Bob Greenblatt, NBC entertainment chairman. His topical comedy is “perfect for the ‘Late Night’ franchise,” he said.

The late-night show began with David Letterman in 1982, and its other hosts have been Conan O’Brien and Fallon.

Meyers is a Northwestern University graduate and began his comedy career in Chicago. His chief television competition will be Craig Ferguson on CBS and “Nightline” on ABC. Like television in general, the late-night audience has dispersed in several directions, with DVR viewing of shows taped earlier a big alternative at night.

Late-night comedy is one of the NBC’s few strong suits, with “Saturday Night Live” often drawing a bigger audience than most of what the network airs in prime-time. With Meyers’ appointment, NBC is hoping for a smooth transition to a younger generation.

“I only have to work for Lorne for five more years before I pay him back for the time I totaled his car,” Meyers quipped. “12:30 on NBC has long been incredible real estate. I hope I can do it justice.”

Behind the scenes, Michael Shoemaker will remain with “Late Night” as producer, NBC said.

A neighborhood group said the grimacing, sharp-toothed, red-eyed goblins painted along a retaining wall have been scaring children, and is an eyesore to boot, according to the Los Angeles Times.

“There are lots of babies, lots of children, and they’re literally frightened. It’s like devils on the wall – big scary eyes and big scary teeth, and just the whole vibe is not what we’re used to,” Patti Negri, president of the Hollywood Dell Civic Association, told the newspaper.

L.A. city code officials responded to complaints about the monster art and cited the “Run It!” singer $376 for unpermitted and excessive signage.

Under city ordinances, it’s illegal to create murals on most private properties. Though that didn’t stop Madonna from painting her Hollywood Hills home in red and yellow stripes in the 1990s.

Brown has been ordered to remove the goblin paintings within 30 days, but his attorney Mark Geragos said the musician is not backing down.

“They are trying to suspend the First Amendment,” Geragos said.

Geragos alleges neighbors are harassing Brown and have also made parking complaints about him and called animal control.

In a telephone interview with The Associated Press on Saturday, Negri said all she wants is for Brown to “tone it down and be a better neighbor.”

Brown’s tumultuous relationship with singer Rihanna and foul-mouthed Twitter presence have given him a bad boy reputation.

Brown won a Grammy in 2011 for Best R&B Album with “F.A.M.E.” and was arrested shortly after the 2009 awards ceremony for assaulting Rihanna.

“I know a $300 fine is probably pocket change. But hopefully and maybe, he’ll just see the light and decide to be a good neighbor,” Negri told the Times. “We’re happy to have him – if he just tones it down.”

“Saturday Night Live” mocked the Republican-led effort to investigate Benghazi, opening its show this week with a sketch about Wednesday’s hearing.

“Rep. Darrell Issa” bemoaned the lack of media coverage Benghazi has received, “with the exception of Fox News.” “Rep. Elijah Cummings” offered that the reason the media hasn’t covered Benghazi is because “everyone knows this is just a partisan witch hunt, and a chance to attack the president and Secretary of State Clinton.”

Issa said he’d like to see the media ignore the hearing this time…and brought out just-convicted murderer “Jodi Arias.”

“Rep. Trey Gowdy” took the lead in questioning Arias, asking her when she first became aware of the attack on the American diplomatic post. This morning, she said.

“Is it still going on?” Arias asked.

“N-no, it happened last September,” Gowdy said.

“Who do you think did it?” she asked

“Well we know who did it, it was Ansar al-Sharia.” he replied.

“Well if you know who did it, why are you holding these hearings?” Arias asked.

After Arias was finished, Cummings protested that Issa brought her in purely to increase the hearing’s TV ratings, and asked whether he planned to have Cleveland kidnapping suspect Ariel Castro testify next. And indeed, he did.

Being the victim of a prank isn’t always fun.  Sometimes you walk away and do your best not to be drawn in, but other times you happily join in the laughter.

On a recent episode of “The Tonight Show,” one couple was on the receiving end of a prank at the gas station, and it could not have happened to any better two people.  The husband was asked to sing a song for a free tank of gas, and not only do you get the most enthusiastic “Livin’ on a Prayer” you’ve ever heard (as his wife dies of laughter in the car), the wife eventually hops out and sings “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” like a super star with some hilarious background notes from her husband.

MSN Now describes the hilarious way the couple, identified as Will and Monifa Sims, was approached:

We’ve all gotten used to those ubiquitous pump-topping TV screens that scream inane chatter at us while we wait for our hilariously overpriced gas to top up. But what if one of them started talking directly at you? Such is the nature of this “Tonight Show” prank, in which a talking head on a gas pump screen charmingly bantered with Will Sims. Sims took the prank in-stride (we would have screamed “Big Brother is watching!” and fled the scene) and then, with the help of his wife, Monifa, the couple dipped into some impromptu karaoke with more charisma and musical talent than an episode of “American Idol.” Well played, guys! People — the best thing about the world.

The billionaire mayor who is waging a very public war on fat, salt, sugar and more is not pleased with a new 36,000 calorie cupcake that was unveiled this week.

So, is Mayor Mike offended by the calorie count in the cupcake or is it the fact that his frowning face was resting atop the mouth-watering masterpiece? When he was told about the pastry, Bloomberg’s reaction was a curt one, displaying his displeasure:

“This is one of the dumbest things people have done, but if they can get some publicity, this is not a joke. People are dying.”

The newly opened House of Cupcakes in Manhattan showed the tasty work earlier this week and shared some of the recipe with news outlets like WCBS radio 880. (If the name House of Cupcakes sounds familiar to you, that may be due to the talented baker’s status as the winner of Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.”)

TheBlaze reached out to House of Cupcakes to get a general sense of the public’s reaction to the calorie-crammed treat. We spoke with a manager on duty named Steve who told us that people loved it, but it was no longer on display. The company has donated it to one of the local “harvest” groups that takes food from area restaurants to feed the homeless and needy. (We wonder if the mayor might be upset when he learns that the hungry and homeless were being given sugary treats like this cupcake.)

What does it take to make a cupcake that’s packing 36,000 calories? Store owner Ron Bzdewk has been very generous, sharing with the ingredients with the press.

• 12 pounds of sugar
• 5 pounds of butter
• 4 pounds of flour
• 6 cups of cocoa powder
• 24 eggs
• 2 cups of milk

“Gallon smashing” is a seemingly pointless act where a person pretends to fall, spilling gallons of milk they are carrying in the process. Someone then has to clean up the mess while those responsible for the spilled milk go home and upload the footage to YouTube.

The latest attempt, uploaded to YouTube on Monday, features a one boy’s gigantic “gallon smashing” failure.

Rather than pretending like he fell, the guy in the video really does fall, smashing his face on the grocery store’s hard tile floor.

“I think I broke [my] jaw,” the boy says as his friends just laugh.

If jail time won’t stop kids from “gallon smashing,” maybe a potentially broken jaw will.

“Armando” is set to make his big debut on Sept. 16, during “Sesame Street’s” 44th season.  The actor planing “Armando” will be Ismael Cruz Cordova.  Cordova told the Associated Press that he actually learned to speak English by watching “Sesame Street.”

“I am incredibly proud to be a part of a show that acknowledges and celebrates diversity so whole-heartedly and am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to represent Latino-Americans on ‘Sesame Street,” he told ABC News

If you’ve checked your Facebook or email this week, you might have been treated to a surprising story of how “Ducky Dynasty” patriarch Phil Robertson has been fighting the network that airs his show regarding frequent uses of prayer and guns. Mainly, the story says that Phil has taken a stand against A&E in order to keep the two topics in the show.

But while the story may endear fans to Phil and the clan even more, information we’ve uncovered says the entire thing just isn’t true.

First, here’s a copy of one of the variations of the rumor that’s circulating on Facebook:

That’s a pretty loaded statement. To have a show’s star speak out agaisnt his own network is a big deal. And especially when it comes to faith and guns, two hot-button issues. Still, given Phil’s outspoken nature, it’s not out of the question.

So what’s the truth?

There’s nothing to it, family member and Phil’s oldest (and non-bearded ) son Alan Robertson tells TheBlaze.

“The rumor that A&E told the Robertsons to tone down guns and prayer is not true,” Alan said in an email to TheBlaze, adding the description of “false” to the chatter. “We continue to partner with A&E to make a great tv show that reflects our family’s values.”

And it seems Phil himself has weighed in according to another of the show’s stars. On Thursday, Missy Robertson — wife of bearded brother Jase — tweeted a response to a question from someone asking about the controversy. According to the tweet, she asked Phil about it and he said “not to my knowledge.”

That seems pretty clear. And as Phil would say, the family seems “happy, happy, happy” with the way things are going.

TheBlaze edit staff found it strange that the President (#65), Vice President (DNS), and First Lady (#19) were not in the top 10, or even top 15. Despite his relatively easy win in last Fall’s election, President Obama found himself rated lower than comic/actor Adam Sandler (#64).

Judges did pretty well with TV’s Judge Judy (#25) beating all nine of the Supreme Court Justices (as well as another TV judge — Joe Brown #39.)

During his radio show this morning, Glenn Beck and his in-studio crew talked about the survey and who they can trust to deliver the “truth.”

GLENN:  America, if we didn’t have other things to do, I’d love to take a real poll and just ask people cold:  Who do you trust?  I wonder, if yourself that all day today.  Who do you trust?  Is there anyone out there that you trust?  I can’t put a list together.  Is there ‑‑ come up with five names of people you trust.  We should do that tomorrow on the show. 

PAT:  Mmm‑hmmm. 

GLENN:  Tell us the five names of people that you really trust.  I don’t know if I could come up with five. 

STU:  Unconditionally.  And not people you know. 

GLENN:  Yeah, not people that you know but people that you, like, watch on TV. 

PAT:  Yeah, famous people. 

GLENN:  Famous people you go, I believe they’ll give me the truth.  Come up with five names today.

Here’s how LifeSiteNews.com described the revelation:

This past weekend during an appearance on a Lifetime show called Dear Mom, Love Cher, the famous singer’s mother confessed that she came within minutes of aborting her now-famous daughter.

Georgia Holt was 20 and recently separated from her husband when she found herself pregnant with Cher. She had moved back in with her own mother, who, when she found out that Georgia was expecting, gave her daughter an ultimatum: reunite with her husband or get an abortion.

Holt at first opted for the abortion, to the point that she even went to the clinic for the scheduled abortion.

It was 1946, a time during which abortion was illegal and Roe vs. Wade was still a cultural enigma way off in the distant future. In her interview about the experience, Holt, 86, recalled details of the abortion clinic’s aesthetics and the last-minute emotions that caused her to change her mind.

“I can remember the chairs were chrome [in the clinic], and I was sweating,” she said. “The sweat was just coming off of me on this chrome and when the door opened and it was my turn, I said, ‘Mother, I can’t do it.’ So, that’s how she’s here.”

In an interview with USA Today, Cher provided other details about her mother’s life. In addition to going through six marriages, Holt also sought fame out as a singer and actress. After marrying John Sarkisian, Cher’s father, the outlet reports that the singer’s mother considered the aforementioned abortion. Holt and Sarkisian divorced after Cher’s birth. At one point, the mother, clearly struggling, placed the singer in a Catholic orphanage — an act that was short-lived, despite the faith leaders’ push for Holt to give her daughter up for adoption.

“The orphanage story has been a touchy one for my mom her whole life, and she didn’t want to talk about it,” Cher told USA Today. “I said, ‘Mom, why didn’t you just march in and take me?’ She said, ‘I didn’t have the power. I didn’t have any money or a job, and the church was so strong. I’d go see you every day and you’d be crying. You don’t know what it was like.’ It was harder for women then.”

The video attached below has gone viral for just that reason. Last week, a kiss cam tantrum was caught on video at a Fresno Grizzlies game (think minor league baseball) in California. The team posted the video on YouTube with this description:

At the Fresno Grizzlies game on May 3, 2013, we learn that not every relationship was meant to be put on the Jumbo-tron, but they all have a happy ending when Parker, the official mascot of the Fresno Grizzlies is there to help mend a broken heart.

 During the clip, the big screen shows various couples noticing the Kiss Cam alert and reacting. Most did as expected, delivering a smooch on cue.

But one didn’t go as planned.

One young lady can be seen pointing out the Kiss Cam notice.

But her companion is busy with an apparently very important phone call and declines. 

The kiss rejection was not received well.

The girl dumped the entire contents of her drink on the man and stormed off. He stares, but also appears to smile a little.

It was the man’s smile and the fact that the camera was perfectly placed to catch this that has some wondering if it was a set up.

The Wall Street Journal reports:

For the first time, the U.S. government’s trade arm is stepping in to help the music business, funding trade missions to Brazil and Asia in recent months for the heads of a dozen independent music labels, which make up one-third of the U.S. music market.

It is a departure for the International Trade Administration (ITA), which has been spending $2 million annually to boost exports for the past two decades under its Market Development Cooperator Program but has never before given one of its $300,000 grants to the music industry, instead favoring sectors like machinery, technology and engineering services.

Until last year the agency hadn’t received a music-industry application worthy of the award, an ITA spokesman said. Indeed, it hadn’t received an application at all.

Reason’s Nick Gillespie notes the irony behind the government’s support for so-called indie rockers:

You know what was one of the things that made rock and roll (and pop music, broadly defined) so freaking great? Precisely the fact that it not only developed without the sorts elite, class-based subsidies lavished on opera, ballet, later jazz, etc., but in spite of them. And to the not-inconsiderable role rock and pop played in defeating international communism, it’s worth noting that pop music was constantly under attack both in the “free” world and behind the Iron Curtain.

For god’s sake, even the major record labels hated rock (prefering the phony folk music parlayed during the ’50s and early ’60s) for the longest time. And now, indie rockers are the new cronies. (sic)

Monday was the first night of Jeopardy’s 2013 College Tournament. And as the categories for Double Jeopardy were revealed, Twitter started buzzing. (For the uninitiated, Double Jeopardy is the second round of “answers and questions” where the dollar values are doubled and there are two “daily doubles” hidden on the board.)

Why? Because the show had dedicated an entire category to quotes from Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara.

The Che category was part of a sequence of categories that were apparently an homage to the upcoming series finale of “The Office.” It followed a category called “It’s Huge.” The joke — a sophomoric, sexual innuendo — has been part of “The Office” since its debut. (CollegeHumor.com has edited together a string of them and posted the clips on their site.)

Watch the video from Monday night’s episode of Jeopardy.

These are the “answers” from the Che category, in order of appearance on the show. All were answered correctly by the students.

For the record, here are a few of the racist, anti-Semitic, and homophobic things Che actually said in his book, The Motorcycle Diaries (these were curiously absent from Jeopardy):

• “The black is indolent and a dreamer; spending his meager wage on frivolity or drink; the European has a tradition of work and saving, which has pursued him as far as this corner of America and drives him to advance himself, even independently of his own individual aspirations.”

• “The episode upset us a little because the poor man, apart from being homosexual and a first-rate bore, had been very nice to us, giving us 10 soles each, bringing our total to 479 for me and 163 1/2 to Alberto.” 

• “The first person we hit on was the mayor, someone called Cohen; we had heard a lot about him, that he was Jewish as far as money was concerned but a good sort.”

“I mean, let’s look at the context of nullification,” the Connecticut senator said in response to a question regarding states that have threatened to nullify proposed federal gun laws.

“Nullification was last used by Southern states to try to eviscerate Civil Rights legislation, to try to prevent states from basically enforcing desegregation and frankly, I think history will look back on this round of nullification as kindly as it did on the last round,” he added.

He continued, explaining to Maddow his views on the Second Amendment:

It is laughable also because it is a total bastardization of the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment is not an absolute right, not a God given right, always had conditions upon it like the First Amendment has. The idea that the Second Amendment was put in there in order to allow citizens to fight their government is insane.

If that was the case, we wouldn’t have also included treason in the United States Constitution. We basically said if you take arms up against the government, we’re going to knock your block off. And that’s what the early presidents ended up doing in Shays’ Rebellion and the Whiskey Rebellion. The Second Amendment is not designed to allow the citizenry to arm itself against the government and nullification is another example of states not really understanding the true nature of that amendment.

Sen. Murphy isn’t the first person to tie the gun control debate to segregation.

Indeed, Tom Brokaw in January compared those not taking a stronger stand on guns to those who silently opposed segregation in the 1960s:

…it reminds me a lot of what happened in the South in the 1960s during the civil rights movement. Good people stayed in their houses and didn’t speak up when there was carnage in the streets and the total violation of a fundamental rights of African-Americans as they marched in Selma, and they let Bull Connor and the redneck elements of the South and the Klan take over their culture in effect and become of face of it.

“I don’t care what he meant. He should just say he regrets it,” she added.

Harpootlian vowed Friday to send Gov. Haley, whose parents immigrated to the U.S. from the Amritsar District, Punjab, India, “back to wherever the hell she came from.”

When asked what he meant by this, Harpootlian said he was referring to — Lexington County.

“[S]he was born in Bamberg [South Carolina] and lived in Lexington,” Harpootlian said in an email, swearing that he never meant to attack or impugn her race. “Anybody implying anything different is attempting to feign insult.”

Although co-host Willie Geist agreed with Brzezinski, wondering whether this story would be a bigger deal if a Republican had threatened a female minority governor, MSNBC contributor Mike Barnicle laughed off their speculations, saying that they would have “led with it.”

Harpootlian has a long history of using “colorful” rhetoric against his political enemies.

Last year, he likened Gov. Haley to Eva Braun (Adolf Hitler’s mistress). The South Carolina Democratic Chairman even once predicted Republican congressional candidate Mark Sanford would end up dead “like the folks at the Alamo.”

Justin Bieber was reportedly attacked by a crazed fan during his concert in Dubai this weekend, and the entire scene was caught on video.

Amid the hysterical female fans, one can be heard screaming: “Justin! Oh my God, Justin! AHH!!”

The U.K. Telegraph summarizes:

In chaotic scenes, Bieber managed to free himself and run to the side of the stage while security guards tried to tackle the man.

During the melee the [piano was tipped over], according to the Dubai-based National newspaper.

He was eventually caught by security guards.

“Saturday Night Live” brought back its “Fox & Friends” parody, this time mocking the hosts’ outrage over calling gay NBA player Jason Collins a hero. The show has been a favorite SNL target over the years.

“Steve Doocy,” played by Taran Killam, kicked things off by noting that even while the latest jobs report was encouraging, he still knows many people out of work.

“And what is the president doing about it? Congratulating NBA players for being gay!” he said. “Since when does telling your embarrassing personal secrets make you a hero? Hey, everybody, I prefer Asian ladies, I’m a hero!”

“Gretchen Carlson,” played by Vanessa Bayer, joined in: “Hey, I use prescription deodorant on my entire body — I mean, give me a medal!”

And the show’s perpetually clueless “Brian Kilmeade,” played by Bobby Moynihan, piped up: “I practice French kissing on my own hand.”

The hosts then brought on New York City Mayor “Michael Bloomberg,” played by Fred Armisen, to harangue him about his push for more gun control. Bloomberg defended his efforts, saying, “If there’s one person gun owners listen to, it’s a northeastern Jewish billionaire.”

That’s when Doocy pulled out a massively large Big Gulp and asked Bloomberg if he was going to be arrested. Watch the full sketch below, via NBC:

Now a “True Chosen Hebrew Israelite descendant of Judah,” the inspiration behind the Billboard Hot 100 hit “Bed Intruder Song” gave an interview to HuffPost Live to unpack his declaration, saying he’s been reading the Bible and examining what it says:

“It’s not praying the gay away because it can be lifted. If you really want to change your life, and just get rid of it, then you can. And that’s what I’m doing. I’m not saying I don’t have the memories of my past, because I do, and I see it everyday in my mind. But I’m trying to move away from that and become a better person. That’s all.”

Dodson added that he’s always been attracted to the “art of a woman” but that he erroneously “tried to actually be that instead of being with that,” calling his gay period “dumb.”

“When you get older and you get mature, things in your life change,” he said, adding that he’s not ashamed of his homosexual past.

“I want people to see my past,” he said. “I want them to see me and see what I was delivered from.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, blockbuster director Steven Spielberg is set to lead the project, an adaptation of Kyle’s book, American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History.

In addition, Hangover star Bradley Cooper is slated to portray Kyle in the film.

Last month, Wahl tweeted that he cannot wait for the legal drama to end, as he is “haunted by image of babies’ spinal cords being clipped.” He also took on the pro-choice movement, noting that abortion leaves no options and “choices” for the unborn. On Thursday, Wahl, once again, took to Twitter to claim that he’s been called racist over his views on the Gosnell trial. He wrote (grammar and spelling kept intact), “Black guy called me racist due to my stance on #Gosnell. I said,’Don’t u care that the babies he killed were black!? U should, G! I do!’”

Wahl isn’t alone, either. Sharing one of the videos that has come out from Live Action, a pro-life organization looking to expose illegal practices in the abortion industry, Heaton recently made her views known as well. Others, too, in Hollywood (though not many) have chimed in on this disturbing case. And though he has not overtly spoken about Gosnell, Scythian’s Danylo Fedoryka is yet another performer (a musician) who is candidly pro-life. These performers’ views — arguably courageous considering the industry in which they work –  are coming to light as the jury continues to deliberate in the Gosnell trial. In their fourth day of proceedings, jurors are meeting to discuss charges against both the abortion doctor and his co-defendant, Eileen O’Neill (an unlicensed doctor who worked at the clinic). TheBlaze will continue coverage on this important case (read more here).

We’ll leave you with a new video from conservative comedian Steven Crowder that shows a lack of knowledge among the public about the charges against Gosnell. If you’ve been monitoring the story, you’re likely familiar with the criticisms that have been waged against the mainstream media for being so late to the game in terms of coverage.

The Tense Exchange Between Rep. Trey Gowdy and the Former IRS Head You’ve Been Waiting for…and It Doesn’t Disappoint

That’s the idea for one Los Angeles production company. They want to make a family movie, use crowd sourcing to fund it, then turn around and give all the profits to local schools.

The company is called ReDistribute — but no, not that kind of “redistribute.”

“My first thing was really? What are you guys trying to do,” screenwriter Todd Gallicano laughed. “No, it’s [film] distribution from a Hollywood standpoint and we’re re-distributing the money.”

Gallicano has written the script, called “The Bell Ringers Club and the Galleon Gold.” It’s a live-action movie about a group of kids who take part in geocaching — an activity where people use GPS to find previously hidden trinkets — and end up discovering a real Revolutionary War-era treasure trail. The script, which director Brian Ide described as “The Goonies” meets “National Treasure,” is filled with nods to the Founding Fathers and America’s early history.

“The idea sort of came from — what do people like to do, they love to go to the movies, and how can Hollywood be a force for good?” Gallicano said in an interview with TheBlaze. “There are movies that give a percentage of profits to charity, but most of those kinds of movies are not movies you necessarily would like to see or want to bring your family to see — they’re movies about slavery or sex-trafficking…why not make a movie that people want to see, something fun, and then you take that profit, you take that amount of money and you give it back in some way?”

Gallicano joined with Ide — a 13-year veteran of the entertainment industry and the founder of ReDistribute — after discovering their similar desire to make films and give the proceeds away. They’ll partner with local theaters that, once they cover their own costs, will give 100 percent of the profits to area schools.

“All of these towns in America have theaters and you’ve got kids constantly selling candy bars [to raise money],” Gallicano said. “What if you get a movie kids wanted to see, that taught them something…people go see the movie and know the funds are going to go to the schools to spend whatever they want. There’s no federal or state requirements or anything like that. This is like, hey, you need new band uniforms? Here.”

The script is complete, but the film needs financing to proceed. The filmmakers are turning to crowd funding, which has quickly become a popular alternative to traditional fundraising. Websites like Kickstarter and Indigogo create online platforms to raise money; last week, actor and director Zach Braff raised $2 million for a new project in just four days.

ReDistribute is in the middle of a 40-day Indigogo campaign to raise $350,000 for “The Bell Ringers Club” — an incredibly low budget by industry standards. Ide said they have agreements with crew members and others to come onto the project for a fraction of what they normally would.

Assuming everything goes well, they plan to shoot this summer in Massachusetts. Ten days into the online campaign, they were still on the cusp of the $6,000 mark. The website is set up so that the campaign only receives the money if they meet their goal of $350,000 by the June 1 deadline.

Ide said if the campaign doesn’t succeed, they can go the more traditional route of trying to get financial backing from a studio, but that will cut out a lot of the profits for the schools — and the main point of their project. Perks for online donors include copies of the script for those who give $10, getting your name listed in the credits for giving $250 or more, and even two executive producer spots for pledging $100,000.

Ide and Gallicano are both well-aware of the stigma that comes with making a “wholesome” family movie — films that might be, cinematically-speaking, plain bad. Ide, who has kids of his own, said they devoted months of market research to the script, asking children whether the concept was something they would be interested in.

“We were clearly aware of that when we first started this program,” he said. “This is not an educational film…it has to be a standalone movie that’s very marketable that just happens to partner with schools at the end of the day.”

The clips, as the AP notes, provide a rare glimpse of one of Hollywood’s best-known actresses — an unfiltered rant, as she takes on a no-nonsense Georgia state trooper following a traffic stop. The footage was captured early in the morning on April 19, as the 37-year-old actress apparently was hampering a sobriety test that Trooper First Class J. Pyland was conducting on her husband.

Despite telling the actress numerous times to stay in the car, Witherspoon didn’t listen. She proceeded to get out of the vehicle and engage the officer, spouting some intriguing claims and statements. The actress repeatedly said “I’m a U.S. citizen,” citing her right to “stand on American ground.” At one point, she even pretended to be pregnant.

Here’s some of the dialogue, as shown in the dashcam video:

Witherspoon: “I’m obstructing your justice?”

Officer: “Yup.”

Witherspoon: “Really?”

Officer: “Yup.”

Witherspoon: “I’m being anti-American?”

Officer: “Yup, go sit down.”

Witherspoon: “Wow.”

After this portion of the dialogue, Witherspoon’s husband, Jim Toth, apologized and told the officer he had nothing to do with the actress’ behavior.

And here’s the portion of the incident in which Witherspoon told the officer, “I’m pregnant and I need to use the restroom.”

Earlier Thursday, the actress appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” to apologize for her behavior, acknowledging that she said “all kinds of crazy things.” Watch her discuss the incident, below (she calls it “completely unacceptable”):
