Caught on Camera: Florida Gov Candidate Fires Aide After Receiving Tip Text During Debate

(via Hot Air)

From TampaBay.com:

Alex Sink: “After the debate tonight, one of my campaign advisors admitted he tried to communicate with me during one of the breaks. While he told me it was out of anger with Rick Scott’s repeated distortion of facts, it was a foolish thing to do. It violated a debate agreement and I immediately removed him from the campaign.”

She fired the person who showed her the message???? SHE didn’t have to read it, yet she did. Take some responsiblity for once. Jeez, just admit you made a mistake. You were caught ON camera READING it. The debate rules restrict YOU the person that read the message, from reading it. The person who showed it to you may have known the rules and been wrong but just because he was wrong and put it in your face doesn‘t mean you weren’t even more wrong for reading it. SHE didn’t push it away. She was wrong. Just fess up to it and move on.

When I first read this article, I thought Sink had accidentally received a message from an aide and apologized for it. After seeing the video above, it is clear that she cheated in the debate. There was no look of perturbation on her face when she received the text.

Wonder if this incident will receive the parody Sarah Palin’s “hand notes” did? Hello, Saturday Night Live?

“In July 1997, FBI agents raided Columbia/HCA accounting offices in seven states, including Florida. Within days, Columbia’s board of directors ousted Scott, but gave him a nearly $10 million severance package, including stock shares worth $300 million and a $1 million a year consulting contract.

The company wound up paying more than $1.7 billion for defrauding the federal Medicare and Medicaid programs.”

Now I’m sure a company just paid $1.7 billion for false accusation…..

Use your head noname! First off, be careful what version of an unknown story that you choose to believe, elections have a way of distorting the truth. I have heard that Scott was forced to resign because he wanted to fight these charges but the board decided to just pay the penalties as most of these businesses do and proceed on with life. Was this an actual fraud, or just fancy paperwork? Hard to know as no one knows what the facts are. But think about this; what CEO of even an average sized company is aware what is going on in the bookkeeping of the departments? Your post is making it sound like Scott organized the fraud, which I am sure your source is trying to imply. I seriously doubt this. Someone found a way to fudge the records and game the system. It happens all the time. Ultimately it fell on Scott’s shoulders, and rightly so, but he was not prosecuted and did no time. Innocent until proven guilty. Am I defending Scott? No. But I am not condemning him for this either. He has no obligation to answer charges laid against him by his political opponents.

It is important for me to trust my Governor. I listened to an interview with Scott on 610 WQAM (AM) and he completely shirked the question about the fraud. Basically said he was not aware of it when it was going down… But that level of incompetence as a CEO also an issue. I don‘t know enough about Sink except that her agenda is in line with Obama’s more or less and what I read here. I have been so focused on National politics that I have blinded myself locally!

Hey Obama Worshiper or is it worshioer lack of integrity to some of us is not a trivial matter. I know that with you leftist the ends always justify the means but I didn’t see Mrs Sink scold or refuse the message from the aide and she thought as leftist always do that she was above the rules and coo-dos to Senator Scott for calling her out on it.

Yes I did say Senator because I trust most Floridians judgement and they are not going to elect Mrs McBride ah I mean Sink for dog catcher let alone Senator. Btw she is married to Bill McBride but for some reason she will not take on his last name, I guess that is kinda of a leftist thing. Anyways I find nothing trivial about this as I think most of the people who read The Blaze would agree that we want our representatives to have high moral standards and yes I know that there are a lot of issues with Rick Scott, but we know that a lot of mud is slung during campaigns and from the things I have uncovered I believe him to be a sound and qualified man, who like all of us make mistakes. Most all of the things I have seen uncovered on him have nothing to do with his ability to bring conservative values and changes to our government. This rule breaking incident is caught on camera and if she would have scolded and refused to read it, that would have been something I would applaud even though I do not agree with her on the issues. We have a hard enough time electing good leaders but if she cannot follow a simple debate rule, how can we trust her with the taxpayers money and how do we know she is not just running to get personal wealth and gain for herself. It is little clues like this rule breaking incident where she is caught red handed that gives us discernment into character. She really just needs to follow the old saying if you live in a glass house, don’t throw stones, as there is a lot of unanswered questions on her handling of the state pension funds which she was involved in with Charlie Christ. Everyone vote next Tuesday and get plenty of new blood in office and give change right back to those Marxist.
