HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — Police have arrested a man who led authorities on a high-speed chase through Miami-Dade and Broward County Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, the man was wanted in a strong armed robbery that happened at 4025 Northwest Fourth Terrace in Miami. As police pursued the suspect, who was driving a blue Ford Expedition, a chase ensued.
The man led police through neighborhoods in the area of Northwest 54th Street and Seventh Avenue, and then he eventually got on Interstate 95 and traveled northbound. The suspect reached speeds of 90 miles an hour as he weaved in and out of traffic.
The chase came to an end when the suspect slammed into the back of a tanker truck as he exited I-95 at Hallandale Beach Boulevard. Authorities swarmed the man’s vehicle and quickly took him into custody.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 2:00pmI watched that live as I LOVE car chases. Only unfortunate thing is, the cops don‘t normally shoot ’em when I yell at the tv to do it . Can’t they hear me?? haha. Guess I love the car chases, not that they put people in danger, but bc I keep wanting them to crash ?? Or get shot?? Too honest? oops

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 7:10pmHave to remember you may have a hostage situation, someone in the vehicle may not be there of their own free will. Like the bank robbers who sent a bank employee in with a bomb attached to his body, to rob it for them. It’s easy to shoot that guy with the bomb attached to his body. But he’s an innocent hostage.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 1:52pmA couple of lessons here; First if you are a law abiding citizen you can see how owning a large vehicle (SUV/ Full sized P/U) can save your life in a crash. Second, criminals should drive small compacts in chases so tax payers are saved the legal and incarceration fees at the end of the chase.

If it wasn‘t for that damn trucker I’d have made it too! Someone told me his name was Al, Al Kayduh or something like that!

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 4:21pm@ZOE thats exactly what I saw. I said that well here comes a lawsuit from the “alleged” gun toting, bible hugging, SUV driving white guy, and the guy driving the tanker truck will be stuck with his hospital bill.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 12:49pmIt’s obvious this man is hurt, he was merely trying to find a hospital that would take him. Good thing the cops found him and were able to bring him to a hospital to receive care he can afford.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 6:16pmIf you are right that it was empty, thank God. The bouncing probably absorbed some of the impact. And I‘m glad the driver of the semi didn’t appear to be hurt.
Can you imagine the phone call to the boss? “Hey, boss, gonna be a bit late picking up the next delivery. You see, I had a fender bender with a car on the off ramp. What’s that? Oh, yeah, the police were there.”

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 12:13pmProblem is…the liberal courts have, time and time again, placed the blame and allowed for civil law suits against the LAW ENFORCEMENT officer and law enforcement agencies for excessive use of force and resulting injuries to innocents as a result of the fleeing felon resulting in MANY agencies having a “No Pursuit” policy. I know, I am a certified Law enforcement driving instructor. As with my former agency, many have adopted the policy that, if the pursued flee and refuse to yield to emergency lights and sirens, turn off the equipment and turn around, go the other way so that the officer and agency can’t be sued as a result of any accidents and injuries. The mentality is…we’ll catch them later.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 12:26pmMan, that just isn’t right. I’m all about protecting the public, but it’s similar to not negotiating with terrorists, you cannot give in to crooks and let them think they will get off scott-free because of pressure not to chase them at high speeds. It sends exactly the wrong message. I certainly don’t have all the answers either, but I think this is a slippery slope we’re heading down. Sad.

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 12:13pmWhy didn’t the cops shoot out his tires when they stopped him the first time????
FToth84
Posted on November 17, 2010 at 12:22pmNot so fast Kate. You’re right he is white but, he could be a Tea Party member and now it’s our fault again. Either way look at all the card in play here. The cops that often “act stupidly” were chasing a man in an “SUV”. Which is “evil” and one of the main reasons for “global warming.“ To top it all off the man hits a fuel tanker showing the fact that ”Big Oil” is everywhere. So basically it’s all a big right wing setup.

Tax credits for new hires, puts these types of people in a better position than me to get a job when he gets out of prison.
In times like this with taxes out of control, businesses have no choice but to look for a tax break where ever they can.
Ex felons are included in the certain type of people who will give business a tax credit. see for yourself:

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 2:38pmNot the greatest chase ever recorded. We had back in the late 90s a man in a ferari racing the highway patrol in AZ just outside of Avondale and he hit a semi at 110+, rolled the car unto destruction and got ejected. Then he was found unharmed and stuffed into the waiting Sheriffs car.
