Caught on Tape: Proof the NYC Blizzard Response Was Sabotaged?

Criminal investigations have been launched to find out why workers from the New York City Sanitation Department were reportedly hanging out at Dunkin Donuts for 11 straight hours and some drinking beer for six or seven hours instead of working to clear the city‘s streets of snow that had fallen in last week’s massive snowstorm.
Though the Department of Sanitation has denied any organized effort to slow down the city’s snow clean-up efforts, new video that‘s surfaced seems to prove there were dirty tricks involved in workers’ efforts to clean the streets last week. The video obtained by a local CBS affiliate are now being closely examined by prosecutors as they seem to show two sanitation trucks driving down snow-covered streets in Queens with their plows raised:
In addition, CBS2 reports that a number of Department of Transportation workers were told to wait six to eight hours for orders from the Sanitation Department before deploying to plow secondary roads. This action left streets in the city’s outer boroughs impassable for days.
“After looking at what happened there’s going to be hell to pay for the people who caused this and everyone’s going to be held accountable,” says NYC Councilman Daniel Halloran.
Department of Investigation Commissioner Rose Gill Hern says the city is working to get to the bottom of what happened and is urging city residents to contact the agency if they have any evidence of deliberate wrongdoing. All information will be kept strictly confidential, she says.

Posted on January 4, 2011 at 5:22amI sincerely hope this is just the offence we need to rise up as a nation against the undue power unions (or any other such entity) wield over our government. I hope there are a lot more people who have become as outraged at unions as I have been for the last 30 or so years. I wasn’t exaggerating, was I?
Report Post »Those like Andy Stern and Richard Trumpka have no business interfering in our government and yet our president welcomes them with open arms and calls himself one of them. Corrupt-o-crats and Unions run Illinois and California. Take a hint, this is where the entire country is headed if we don’t shout out against it. Are we going to continue to let them infiltrate the ferderal government?
Whoever has the power to undermine our nation the way they have, need to be crushed.

Posted on January 4, 2011 at 4:44amWhen the citizens of NY (harmed by this work slow down) sue the city, will the money they win come out of the malfeasant government employee’s pockets? Will the union’s deep pockets have to pay for it? Nah, that would be justice and in the Socialist utopia of NY, we can’t have real justice for the little people. In the end, the Socialist courts will just stick it to the city and let the poor taxpayers pay for it yet again.

Posted on January 4, 2011 at 2:40amIt is my opinion thay any sanitation worker that participated in this “protest”, should be charged with attempted manslaughter as a minimum. Of course we know that the pending “investigations” will not amount to anything since the city, state, and federal government are deeply involved with the union. I would not be surprised if some of the men that live in the boroughs do not resort to a little vigilante justice. I am sure it would not be very hard to find out where these workers live and drag them out of their houses in the middle of the night and exact a little justice for the danger and misery that these workers imposed on their neighborhoods. Wait and see…..it is going to happen.

Posted on January 4, 2011 at 1:10amIf you look at France, UK, Greece etc. you will see where the US is headed with the unions. I have been stationed in Korea, Italy, the UK and the Middle East. In each country Unions or the equivalent have WRECKED the trust of the citizen in their Government. In Korea you can go through 2 years of classes and $3000 (equivalent) OR bribe the licensing official $750 and you’ve got your license to drive…In Italy the Carabinieri or state police will stop you and shake you down for whatever money you have at GUN POINT. I had a Major who just got into country pass the “lolly pop” they hold out to stop you and he was almost gunned down before seeing them. When they saw he was Air Force they just waved him on. We are seeing this NOW with our Teachers, Cops, Fire Departments and other unionized workforces. The emphasis is not on what they can build, clean, keep safe or make better it is how much can I get paid for doing as little as possible and be protected from getting fired! WAKE UP AND REALIZE THE UNIONS ARE DEAD AND KILLING AMERICA!

Your discontent accurately underscores why “WE THE PEOPLE” should have these services out of government/union hands. That way, any “non performance of duties” can be dealt with more easily by termination of any non performing employee(s), IMO.
This whole situation can best be summed up in the words of Ronald Reagan. “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’”

Posted on January 4, 2011 at 5:15amSoviet propaganda films from the 1920′s & 1930′s depict Capitalists as greedy, unethical fat cats, and unions as the righteous salvation of the struggling, oppressed workers. “Strike” by Sergei Eisenstein and “The End of St. Petersburg” by Vsevolod Pudovkin are two films that come to mind.
“Reds,” starring Warren Beatty, et. al. also shows roots of unions in Soviet history. It’s good to know the historical connections unions have so we can better understand their modern day behavior, their tactics, IMO.
Oh, and by the way, Vladimir Lenin, primary founder of Marxist-Leninist Communism, was a bank robber in Tsarist Russia. Lenin rationalized his theft of other people’s money as just one more facet of his attack on Capitalism.

I worked in a factory with the teamsters union and when I was hired I was told I HAD to join or the dues would be taken out of my pay any way, apparently that was the way the cintracts were written. After the new contracts are written, the workers were given little handbooks with info for us to read. I asked a steward if I could see the WHOLE contract to see what was not in the handbooks and was told it was none of my business what else was in the contract. Funny this was that after every new contract the union president for our shop some how got a new car…hmmmm….just a co-inky-dink I’m sure….

After, the heads can roll but the job will be done. It’s simple Sun Tzu strategy. They “attack” by forcing union work stopage, you “retalliate” and get the job done, thus making the unions totally irrelevant. Result? Unions go away. You show these people that they do NOT have control over us! hell, Governers can even call out the National Guard to do the job, then give the bill to the unions….especially if they are a private union (unlike this example of city workers)…but even a city union can be charged for the cleanup by the state, forcing those in city power to tighten these union hacks up, or have them removed.
