This is what Sarah Palin was getting rid of in Alaska… It is so comical how the Left AND progressives on the Right hate her, this is why, she was actually getting rid of corruption.

Think it through, if you know a politician that is against Sarah, more than likely, they have their hand or friends/family in the cookie jar.

17th Amendment messed this country up so much, its easy to dupe the public, look at Harry Reid, that guy is such a tool it says Craftsman on his back, yet he got elected. Do you think the Nevada State House would have let him keep his job? Think of Lindsey Graham, McCain, shoot Roland Burris?! The 17th was a means to put people in that would support big money interests, just like Lisa does.

completely agree with you, thats why it’s important that the states hold a constitutional convention and repeal it, and don’t forget article one, section seven of the constitution: ‘if the president vetos a bill he must send it back to the house it originated, than that house must reconsider it (with/out presidents suggested changes) vote a majority for it, then it goes to the other house where it again must reconsider the bill with the presidents suggestions, and get a majority vote then the bill will become law.’ dispite the veto of the president.

Agreed, the 17th Amendment allows for serious corruption in the Senate. BUT there was serious corruption in the Senate before the 17th Amendment, and there were other problems too. This particular problem is like deciding between hitting or staying on 16 when the house has 10. It’s a loser bet either way, just one way is SLIGHTLY better than the other. Reducing the structural size of government, imposing term limits, ratifying a balanced budget amendment, and ending earmarks forever will work very well to limit corruption.

New Rules…first, any government employee heard talking to his or her workers about politics is fired forever…second, this happens on a daily basis at every level of government, by both the repubs, and the dems… to them, taxpayer dollars are theirs, to be spent to enrich themselves… We need a third party, since the republican national commitee refused to help tea party canidates, they need to leave along with the democrats that take the people’s money to enrich themselves…

Isn‘t Lisa Murkowski’s Dad one that Sarah Palin took on in Alaska when she was Governor?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Murkowski

Lisa is one bitter woman; mad at Palin for handing her Daddy a loss in the Governor race.

Also, the Appropriations Committee is controlled by who? Democrats. Is this a Democratic Ploy to make Joe Miller lose? Murkowski a RINO; Miller a Patriot.

Lisa Murkowski = Charlie Crist Will say ANYTHING to win

Well if what was said by this Federal employee is suspect and they won’t have a re-vote, then all I can say is Murkycowski should be thrown off that committee or better yet, funds to Alaska should be severely cut.

The people of Alaska have voted and they wanted the same crap, let’s give it to them–crap. The next time they can vote her out perhaps they then will do the right thing and vote for the candidate who has CONTENT OF CHARACTER! She obviously has none!

She should have stepped down and she knows it. She didn’t EARN her position she was HANDED her position by her father. I have no respect for her.

Everyone vote for the money. That’s what we have government for, ok? Get the money, and think about your own state, how poor it is, and how you need that taxpayer aid for your own state.

Why have we come to this in America? Why do we view government as the money pot? Why why why? There‘s something very wrong with our education system if that’s the worldview that’s been taught.

This is clearly wrong, here is the boss trying to influence his employees vote by saying that ‘without this candidate you wouldn’t be working today…so I think you should vote for that person instead of this person.’ There is no rationalizing this it is clearly illegal for a federal employee (let alone any other employee) to do this. I think lisa Murkowski should be disqualified from the race because of this b.s.

Sorry I disagree. Have I had a boss tell me who he’s voting for? Sure. Have I had a boss tell me how great or how crappy he thinks whoever was president was? Sure. I have no problem with that. If it’s just me and him shooting the breeze and the topic just happens to come up then whatever.

But this was a company meeting. It wasn’t two guys sitting in the break room talking about politics. It wasn’t somebody simply uttering their opinion of something in normal conversation. They rounded up all the employees and made them listen to a stump speech. Is it illegal? No. Is it insane? Yes. If I had a boss pull a stunt like this I would tell them where they could stick their opinion in no uncertain terms. Even if they were rallying for a candidate I supported. This is not a free expression issue. He’s preaching to a captive audience that he holds undue influence over. Of course intelligent free thinking people won’t care who their boss thinks they should vote for. But unfortunately intelligent free thinking people are the minority, and stunts like this are what keep stupid people voting for people they don’t know the first thing about.

Wrong! These people were on COMPANY time, at an employee meeting, listening to the boss give his istructions on how they should vote. True, they didn’t have to vote for Murkowski but he used scare tactics to try to sway their vote. All the time, these workers, including the boss were collecting,as salary, dollars to do a job for the Air force.

The sad part is that if the country goes broke and there is no more money for projects such as this, they will all be out of a job.I hope they had enough sense to understand that. How would they like working for the Chinese?

The lack of a threat of being fired is irrelevant. He is their employer and is using his position to attempt to electioneer for a political candidate. He is spewing rhetoric and lies in an attempt to sway their opinions. It would be just as outrageous if the CEO of Kraft foods gave a similar monologue in support of a conservative candidate in similar circumstances.

If he had stood up and said this at a town hall meeting as a private citizen set up for political discussion fine. But you don’t gather your workers up at the workplace and prod them to vote for the candidates you favor. Giving a ten minute speech on why you should vote for Lisa Murkowski has no place in the workplace. An employer has tremendous influence over their emplyees and saying “I’m not telling you who to vote for” after you’ve just spent ten minutes telling them who to vote for does not make this ok.

IHeartconservatism- It is a Federal contractor paid with Federal $$$ and using dues from Federally paid employees to support one candidate. Clearly this guys view is ONE-SIDED! BOTH candidates should have been represented! Huckabee has made a very clear point of view on this.
We had this happen in our school district. Someone put a flyer in all the teachers mailboxes solely supporting the Democrat candidates. The Republican Women’s organization brought this to the attention of the District Superintendent who agreed that was one-sided and as the teachers are paid by the government, then both sides should have been represented!! Period.

I loved his reasoning I won‘t tell you how to vote BUT Joe Miller won’t be able to bring home the bacon. I once worked for a company that wasn’t happy that their truck drivers in the southern part of the state were considering joining the union that covered the employees in the northern part of the state. The message was basically “You guys are free to make a choice but, man it sure would be a bummer if the extra expense caused us to have to shut down these southern outlets….but hey, it’s your choice…it’s a free country!” Different sides of the coin, I know, but still the same coin and, on this one, it’s our tax dollars running the table for the incumbent. The key to this is that it is a superior person on the job instructing inferiors what the election could mean to them. The problem is that this superior is being paid by tax dollars. The footage is proof that our tax dollars are being used to force people who are being paid with our money to listen to someone “suggest” to them how to vote. If you believe that the tyrants act in the best interest of the individual, consider the following quote:

“If the government is to tell big business men how to run their business, then don’t you see that big business men have to get closer to the government even than they are now? Don’t you see that they must capture the government, in order not to be restrained too much by it? Must capture the government? They have already captured it.”

The quote is from an early wannabe tyrant, Woodrow Wilson in 1913. Since then each encroachment on our individual liberty has caused problems that have been used to justify more tyranny.

My book “21st Century Common Sense” has the proof and the recipe to regain our freedom.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s write-in candidacy was inspired by, and is funded by, an insular but bipartisan network of lobbyists, corporation and political operatives who have enriched themselves on taxpayer money through close political relationships that clash with ethics rules.

These Murkowski cronies are concentrated in a new million-dollar, corporate-funded organization called Alaskans Standing Together.

AST is a “Super PAC” formed last month by a handful of Alaska Native Corporations. These are government-created, for-profit businesses that profit from unique privileges in federal contracting, and they pass much of their earnings on to non-native consultants, subcontractors and lobbyists.

Rebel, he is clearly violating the hatch act. It is illegal to promote any partisan candidate on government time. Well here I’ll do this.

These federal and D.C. employees may not:
use official authority or influence to interfere with an election
solicit or discourage political activity of anyone with business before their agency
solicit or receive political contributions (may be done in certain limited situations by federal labor or other employee organizations)
be candidates for public office in partisan elections
      engage in political activity while:
      on duty
      in a government office
      wearing an official uniform
      using a government vehicle
wear partisan political buttons on duty

The Hatch Act also applies by extension to certain employees of state and local governments whose positions are primarily paid for by federal funds. It has been interpreted, for instance, to bar employees of state agencies administering federal unemployment insurance programs, or appointed local law enforcement agency officials with oversight of federal grant funds, from political activity. So long as some federal funds support the position, the Hatch Act bars state and local government employees from running for public office even if their position is funded almost entirely with local funds.

That is what is wrong about it. On the surface it seems harmless and non-descript but is a clear violation. And on top of all that IF it can be proven that Murkowski was involved in the criminal act it can ultimately effect the turn out of the election. That last part is a bit of a stretch but would not be unheard of.

      Leftinruins:
That is the problem with both parties, they are full of progressives. The Republican party doesn’t show it as blatantly as the Dems. that is why we need to flush them out and Target them for dismissal~!!! Murkowski, Castle, Christ, McCain, Graham to name a few. These and some others need to go ~!!!

Unfortunately it makes the listeners look stupid and they are if they voted for someone because they were told to. This is sad regardless if you are a Democrat or a Republican.

The guy didn’t violate the Hatch act, he isn’t a government employee. He made a reasonable statement and all that he said was true. Of course, none of what he said addresses the larger moral issues promoted by the TEA party movement.
These aren‘t the droids you’re looking for.
The issue now is in the counting of the ballots and will they be counted lawfully.

I must be honest, I don’t like it, but also like with the McDonalds story I don’t really see anything wrong with it. They did not threaten anyone’s job for voting the other way. The only thing I see that would be intimidation is the “reminder card”. Wonder if they feel different about the people who decided not to get the “reminder card” They should have just handed them out to all employees, that way they could not tabulate who took, and didn’t take.

      This is funny.
      He says
This economy up here would not exist in a free market. Government is funneling cash from healthy sources of the economy into a project that is not economically viable. You benefit from this. If you want to keep your jobs and continue to live off the rest of the people then vote!
