My mother actually designed that exhibit :P We saw this on TV and my mom said, “Oh, look at that stone!! I designed that” totally ignoring the whole fiasco that was on camera. Funny moment.

Will someone please teach these reporters to ask intelligent questions. “do you think the lion got the trainer and the chair confused?“ ”So, you were conserned for the safety of the trainer?”

    Excuse me?

The second trainer‘s courage to put himself in harm’s way without a thought for himself….amazing!

So cute how the lady lion was trying to calm hubby lion down :) Like, “honey, honey, just calm down now, don’t be grumpy (I want my dinner later)!”
Funny too how the lion kept trying to look for that guy. He certainly was ticked at that one trainer for whatever he did!
I agree though, seriously, if it was an attack, the guy would have been “gone”, or at least bleeding profusely.

    NOT an Attack!
this was a playful Lion. goes to show how wild animals should stay wild…..not smart to stand in a cage with a wild animal. Not smart to cage a wild animal period!

These interviews always seem so weird or strained. And it doesn‘t help that the interviewer isn’t paying attention and has no clue where to go with the questions.

This was no “attack”. If that lion wanted to attack that dude would not have been able to get up and walk away. This lion was just tired and grumpy and either was irritated or wanted something he wasn’t getting and just had to show the dude who was really the boss in there. That’s all. This is what large cats do. Big deal.

This lion was playing, a real lion attack, that guy is shreaded, he even let the the other guy PUSH him away, no way.. a lion in attack mode isn’t get pulled/pushed off, plus, they roar when they attack to instill fear.. I think either he had food/candy/etc on him, or the lion was getting to frisky, animals don’t do things for no reason, they do everything for a reason… I agree with Tate..

play with fire and expect to get burned…ask Roy Horn…But they never blame the animal….how dumb is that? Roy even said the animal was trying to save him from his stroke….really lame excuse. Stop playing with wild animals or expect this…

If the lion wanted to kill him, he would have gone for his throat. I think the lion was just expressing his displeasure, and wanted to be left alone. I didn‘t even see any blood on the guy’s arm when he got free.

If he were attacking out of hunger he would have gone after the chubby guy. I think the kid was mouthing off at the thing and it got ticked off. Just before it lunges you can see him saying something in a scolding way.
Very funny video. I kept thinking “Go Lion.” Using these animals for our entertainment is just wrong.

Pro-animal rights people like you make my stomach turn. If you were hit by a car or in some terrible accident where you’re stranded, what animals would help you? The human kind. Learn to love your kind.

It’s a wild animal. My rottie bites Me sometimes. It’s wild too, but Dogs play hard.
I think the Lion was playing or His head would be OFF.

“So you were concerned he was going to get hurt” nope just worried about what tags i would use for it on youtube….heres your sign…..

Compliments to the OTHER keeper who without giving a second thought put himself between the lion and the keeper that was being attacked! That is a human that cares more about others then himself!

No matter how long these animals have been in captivity, they are still a Wild Animal with all the instincts and reactions which that entails. No one should be surprised (or necessarily blame ) the animal when it acts in this way.
Will never forget watching a bright shirted tourist in Yellowstone walk up to a bull elk in order to get a close up for the folks back home. Did he think it was a petting zoo? Lucky for him the elk just kicked out and took off. The tourist could have been impaled!!

I’m glad the trainer was not seriously hurt. He dodged a bullet.

Keeping animals in cages, even nice ones, is a practice that lost its need with the advent of animal documentaries and being able to watch their behavior in the wild. Zoos should be phased out before the next trainer is killed like the Sea World trainer.

Does not look a full attack, more looks like just upset about the trimming. The liness looks like was trying to aid the Keeper. This stuff happens some times when you are around big anamials. If it wanted to kill him, he would of been dead tho.

agree. The lion was playing with this guy never made a move towards the throat. This lion was not attacking, just playing around. That‘s why you don’t get in cages with things that can eat you.

Is there ever such a thing as a tame Wild animal? If that lion wanted to really hurt that trainer it could have done a lot more damage a lot faster. I just wonder who was the trainer and the trainee there.

You can take a Lion out of the wild……but you can’t take the wild out of the Lion. I could never understand why so many people are shocked when someone gets attacked by a wild animal they either have trained or have living in their backyards. DUH….it is a wild animal…..wild being the key word.
