Cavuto Knocked for Saying Obama Was a ‘Nobody’ Nine Years Ago

Gawker is playing it up this way:

Fox News‘ Cavuto Interrupts Michelle Obama’s Speech to Call Barack a ‘Nobody’

The headline is certainly accurate. Fox News did interrupt the speech. Cavuto makes the “nobody” remark. But now here’s the context Gawker-style:

Fox News’ Neil Cavuto decided Michelle Obama had been given enough precious 9/11 airtime for her speech in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, so he interrupted the live broadcast to say of Barack Obama, “nine years ago this day, he was a nobody.”

So he was a “nobody” back then — not now!  Everybody clear? Neil does, however, seem kind of pleased with his observation. Watch:

    Talk about disrespect for the office… I never heard bush complain about clintons dot com bust, failure to kill bin laden, making the oval office smell like dirty cigar and sex, suicide (?) Of his lawer, whitewater, firing of travel office, calling him former president bush and over a hundred more examples. Economic times were generaly good but honor and morality in the nation fell beneath the basement(remember his trooper gate in arkansas) no he just rolled up his sleeves and did his job under extreme attacks from the globe and most sadly his own people. God bless you president bush and thank-you for holding america’s head high in the face of adversity.

    All he said was a fact. Obama was cast into the scene. That’s no secret. Based on the comments, I would have thought Neil was disrespectful. All he did was tell the great American story. One of the miracles of capitalism. A rags to riches story.

    As far as respect for the president. Hey,the president works for us. He’s not some king, or royalty. He’s a public servent. I would never be in owe of a president. And that is one of the things that makes America great. Being in awe is not required. It‘s only expected if you don’t understand what we are all about.

    The only thing I find incorrect about what Neil said was his use of the words “nine years” — no one outside of Chicago politics, and that would encompass the general “nobody” moniker, knew who this guy was before he gave a speech to the DNC in 2004. Ask Hillary.

      It is so strange that many people share such hateful speech. Over the last 10 plus years, our country seems to be so divided. We can all agree that our presidents are just men. These men were no saints or any special. There has been only one man that has walked this earth so that we all have a path toward heaven. BHO has not been delivered from God. But he is still a man no different that Bill and George. So I do agree that BHO was just an ordinary man but I would not agree that he was a nobody. All of God’s children are somebodies and God does not make junk.

      What I find is the blindness and stupidity of such branding and devisive nature of these last many years. Any given leader has the task to lead and is personally responsible for his charge.

      Look at the facts and the general nature of our country and its direction, do you see leadership around you now?

      Every junior officer is given the same charge to lead and take care of his team. Each leader is provided for more and more responsibility. l see the leader of our country as a junior officer that is not seasoned in the leadership of any major group or assembly. Where do we elect such novice leadership to chart our destinity.

      The Presidency is not American Idol. But I see this is the way this country is viewing the drama.
      There should be a master remote to turn the channel in this drama show.

Obviously, they don’t play cartoons or promote the Disney channel, so you wouldn’t be watching. But should you get out of the 3rd grade and need something of substance, you may want to watch his program. Neil’s comment was factual but Danglinboy asks like his feeling are hurt. Nine years ago Obama wasn’t known to many, big deal, the same could be said about Glenn Beck.       Of course he was a “nobody”, he was a junior Senator from IL-kinda like John baynor was a nobody, until BO called him out and elevated him to the national stage. Yes, the BO story is a dramatic story, but when this war was again brought to our shores (the 1st attack was in 93 and we just wished it away-thanks BC) he was a nobody , he was not part of any group that ws going to mobilize the defense, rally for recruitment, or even become part of the military solution-he was focused on getting elected. That is why the statement is true. There is no reason to treat him any differently just because of his story, we all came from somewhere, and we all started as nobodys.

      Cavuto is the Vice President of Business Affairs for Fox News – a self-made man who has many people working for him and therefore the RESPONSIBILITY to ensure their continued employment and success. Hardly a nobody. Barack Obama, however, is a nobody – he has never run a business and had others depend on his actions to ensure their continued employment or success, has a non-existent record of voting for ANYTHING of merit in either of the state or federal senate positions he held (voting “present” over 80% of the time), and will go down as the most destructive/useless president of all time. And, oh yes…I almost forgot. Obama has PROVEN himself to be a pathological liar who will say/do anything to advance his ideological goals of changing this country from a republic to an an authoritative state based on a Socio-Communist system of government.
