CBS Cancels Season for Charlie Sheen Sitcom

(language warning)

As news of actor Charlie Sheen’s latest erratic behavior surfaced Thursday, CBS took matters into its own hands, pulling the plug on the remainder of the season for Sheen’s sitcom Two and a Half Men.

CBS Cancels Season for Charlie Sheen Sitcom

Actor Charlie Sheen

During a live radio interview Thursday, Sheen blasted the show’s creator, calling him a “turd.” In addition, the unpredictable actor also launched a verbal assault on Thomas Jefferson, labeling the Founding Father a “p***y.”

“Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros TV have decided to discontinue production of Two and a Half Men for the remainder of the season,” the two companies said in a statement.

The Hollywood Reporter adds:

The move was not unexpected: Before lashing out at Lorre during an interview on the syndicated Alex Jones Show, Sheen said he was told that if he went on “attack” execs would cancel the show.

During Sheen’s lengthy tirade on the program, he repeatedly refered to Lorre as “Chaim Levine,“ and said he spent ”close to the last decade effortlessly and magically” converting Lorre’s “tin can into pure gold.”

Later, Sheen told TMZ he “violently hated” Lorre and that he “owned” him.

Come on people. This show was very funny. Like sports stars, I couldn’t care less what these movie actors do with their personal life. Separate the show from the person.

The show commanded a lot of ad dollars. He should be paid well because his acting generated the revenue. Don’t hate like a liberal.

It could have been funny, but it was so vulgar and gross at times that it was disgusting. I could not watch it, the man lived a life that was very much like the show and why anyone could think that was funny is beyond me. Hopefully he could get over his addiction and sick sexual mind, but maybe he is too far gone and needs to be put in an institution somewhere. CBS has done the world a favor.

He is out of his mind! Try being a parent to such an individual. I have witnessed my own parents pain for a great portion my life. It is like a cancer. There is a treatment, but you can’t force your “child” to receive it. Without treatment, it grows. You can have them involuntarily committed, but that’s only 48 hrs. As a parent, you can’t do anything until they do something atrocious. Then, typically, it’s out of your hands, like the nut job in Tuscon. Here’s a really horrid thought. I wish my brother had cancer instead, because then HE’D want to treat it, too. At least then, he’d have a chance at normalcy. So would my parents. CatB, not making light of cancer. You had a disease you wanted to, and did, defeat. Twist your mind and think it’s part of you, and if you take it away, I won’t be me anymore. That’s mental illness. My brother doesn’t want to be treated, because there is nobody smart enough to treat him.

      Exactly.

A lot of years ago I kind of admired Charlie Sheen. We actually grew up in the same area of Los Angeles and we are the same age. He was actually ‘Carlos Estevez’ back then. We went to different schools but everyone knew who he was and that he was Martin Sheen’s kid. I’d see him from time to time at school games as we both played baseball for our schools and around town once in awhile. He got all the hottest chicks and was a dog with the women even back then. Then I actually saw him once at a taco shop in Pacific Palisades, CA. He was a total and complete arsehole while he was there. Yelling at the Latino cooks being racist and yelling at the customers like a primadonna beotch because they were in his way or being too noisy or whatever. I didn’t admire him at all after that. It has been interesting watching him ‘grow up’ and in his various acting roles since then though.

Nowadays, Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen are my top two picks in our ‘Under 60 Hollywood Celebrity’ dead pool at our poker night. I’ve had them both for about 5-years since we started our regular poker night. I won the coin toss for first pick and grabbed Lohan immediately. Sheen was just the name that popped in my head on the next round). Every poker night we add a buck or two each to the pot. If they both go within a week of each other I win the entire pot — which amounts to a nice chunk of change now. So far, I feel pretty confident I’ll at least win a portion soon enough. But I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Lohan and Sheen will hook up for a week long coke and alcohol bender in Vegas or something. Then it’s the whole enchilada baby!

Well, “Charlie Harper” finally said and did enough outrageous things for CBS to cancel the remaining episodes of Two and A Hlf Men for this season. It will probably be a permanet cancel due to the fact that old Charlie just doesn’t know when or how to shut up.
It seems like more than a few actors an actresses let stardom go to their heads in such a way there’s no room for brains. Time for Charlie Boy to snap out of it and detox before he ends up like a lot of other drug and alcohol abusers, on a Los Angeles County morgue slab. What a waste !

It‘s interesting because Sheen seems to think that this is all about him and that he’s in control of his fans and his show. Why not talk to David Caruso, who left NYPD Blue years ago because he thought he was such a megastar? Caruso dropped out of sight like a stone down the proverbial well and stayed there until he was given a second chance on CSI:Miami. I think Caruso learned a lesson.

I‘m not terribly sure that Charlie Sheen’s fans will be so intensely loyal in the long run. They have nothing invested in him while the network does. I can’t see other networks lining up with contracts in hand. The word has gone out, “AVOID, AVOID, AVOID”.

Also it seems that his family were concerned enough to start planning an intervention, and that’s not good news. Having worked in a psych hospital years ago, this type of behavior is a sign that things are not on the upswing, as someone pointed out earlier.

The Hollywood writer’s strike a few years ago really decimated alot of shows because the break was too long and people kind of got on with their lives. LOST never really recovered its momentum and kind of faded into the horizon. Two and a Half may also suffer the same fate.

I feel bad for Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones, because I don’t know what kind of contingency language their contracts contains regarding this situation, but the other crew, like the lighting and sound people are probably used to this type of situation. It happens every year when the new season premieres kick off. Some shows actually survive the season, others get axed before their third episode.

What a waste! Charlie does a great job with his acting, and I have always enjoyed watching him. However, he is making a grave mistake. Does he have any idea how many people have said, “That’s it, I’m done?” Recovery from addiction takes more than that as Charlie will find out, hopefully before he dies or goes to prison. It is sad that he will have to go through the pain, but Charlie doesn’t sound as though he is ready for reality. He doesn’t have the power to do this on his own. Good luck, Charlie.

He’s got an excellent command of the English language, I’ll have to say. And he’s actually right about AA, in that alcoholism is a choice, not a disease.

He’s had some fine movies, and the sitcom “Two and a Half Men” was a lot of fun. Quite a talented actor, I must say.

But it was when he abused his lates woman, after Denise divorced him for spousal abuse, that it became clear that Charlie Sheen does physically abuse women.

Now, I don’t want to watch anything of his – which is what I think of Chris Brown, too.

“But it was when he abused his lates woman”

That should have read something like “But it was when his lates woman accused him of spousal abuse, which is what Denise said, too …”

Where were all you nice supportive people when Glenn was chugging…

Part of the time that Glenn was busy chugging, I was working in a private psychiatric hospital with a Drug and Alcohol unit.

      How about you, Sinsta?
