‘Change for the Good’: Beck Explains Why Progressives Undermine the Institutions Americans Trust Most

For 35 years, the Gallup Organization has surveyed Americans‘ level of faith in the country’s primary institutions. The most recent poll was conducted in June 2011 and reveals that Americans overwhelmingly keep faith in the U.S. Military, followed by small business, the police force and religious institutions. Scoring on the low-end of the totem poll is organized labor, big business and HMOs, followed by Congress with a 12% rating (a rate that has since halved). But while some of these numbers might seem respectable, it is important to note that, over the last decade, faith in nearly all of the above institutions has been on a steady decline. And there may be a reason for that.
On his Monday evening broadcast, Glenn Beck weighed the institutions Americans
trust most against progressive actions that seem to have been engineered with the sole purpose of undermining that very faith.
Military and law enforcement
Beck posits that Americans’ faith may have been shaken over the recent sex scandal surrounding Secret Service agents in Colombia, as many Service members are former military personnel. Occupy Wall Street’s portrayal of police officers as abusive “pigs,” along with President Obama and leftist lawmakers’ recent reaction to the Quran burning incident in Afghanistan is also an example of how progressive seek to undermine Americans’ faith in military and law enforcement.
Another instance Beck highlighted was the story of 18-year-old Alton L. Hayes III, who, along with a sidekick, brutally assaulted a 19-year-old boy simply because he was white. Hayes said he was upset over the Trayvon Martin case.
The two black teens allegedly rummaged through the victim’s pockets, threw him to the ground and punched him “numerous times” in the head and back and beat him with a tree branch.
Beck asked viewers if they could imagine how big this case would be if the perpetrators had been white.
All around doubt
When in doubt, look no further than Van Jones. The former green jobs “czar” stepped into the fray recently, casting doubt on Americans’ faith altogether when he explained what “love of country” means to him. He said [emphasis added]:
It means I love Americans—the people who actually live here, who look all kind of different ways, who pray all kind of different ways, who love all kinds of people. And I challenge the people who are the opponents of my values to explain how they get to be patriots. As I say in the book, they seem to distrust the American government. They seem to dislike most of the American people. They seem to resent most of America’s achievements over the last century, including unions and public education and environmental protection and so many of the things that made the American century the American century. So I don‘t get why we don’t just tell them to sit down and shut up. They can complain if they like, but we have another century to win.
While he did not specify, it is likely the “they” to whom Jones refers are conservatives. Beck mocked Jones’ assertion that the EPA, public education and Labor Unions are among America’s “greatest accomplishments.” It should also be noted that, if one reviews the chart to the above-right, faith in both education and labor unions has declined drastically. Beck noted this point when he quipped that Jones is lauding the institutions Gallup says Americans like least.
Watch Beck explore how progressive change is always sold as being for “the greater good.”
Religious institutions
In terms of shaking America’s faith in faith, The Blaze reported that IRS records from Media Matters reveal the far-left group’s crusade against Christian institutions and Christian influential ideology is operating in full-force. Beck posited that if one wanted to destroy the country, then he or she would do so by undermining the very institutions that Americans trust most. And he believes progressives are seeking to do just that.
Dubbed by Beck as the George Soros group that has become “the ‘research arm’ for lazy news reporters across America,” Media Matters is attacking the very institution that Americans still hold in deeply high regard. Perhaps, that is precisely why the group is seeking to destroy it.
The left‘s path isn’t clear until “God is completely out of the way,” Beck said.
Supreme Court
One needn‘t look any further than the chastisement of the Supreme Court in Congress and the president’s grand display attempting to school the Supreme Court on the constitutionality of Obamacare to see that our most beloved institutions are the ones the left seems most fixed on subverting.
Below is a poignant video from FreeMarketAmerica that explores some of these very issues. Beck called it one of the most intense and accurate spots he had ever seen:
“They have been working on this for about 100 years,” Beck said.
Communism in America
Reminding viewers of the ten planks of the Communist Manifesto reflected in American life, Beck asked what one who wants to destroy the free market would do in order to remold it “closer to the heart’s desire.” In order for Van Jones, et al, to wipe the slate clean and “rebuild the dream” that has been in motion for the last “100 years,” progressives have had to become “more adept at duping people,” Beck noted. After reviewing the 10 tenets, he then asked viewers to examine how in-sync many of them are with current American policies. “Look at the things that you are being told are good for you.”
But it’s “all for the greater good.”
Drawing from another recent occurrence in which Communist Party of America members unveiled their long-term plans for the nation, Beck noted that Florida Congressman Allen West is on the group’s radar given his recent comments about Communist Democratic lawmakers. Communist Party leader Sam Webb said they would make it a point to defeat ”right-wing extremism” in the form of the Congressional freshman.
Of course, the media has come out in full force to assail West over his comments, despite the fact that the GOP lawmaker is, according to Beck “100%” accurate.” Reviewing various the Congressional Progressive Caucus, he then asked how many of the 76 members have “raved about Fidel Castro” and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The question was of course, rhetorical.
A matter of grave importance
Reviewing these chilling developments of late, Beck said that America is dangerously close to the precipice, with “one foot in the free market and the other in Communism.” There is no free market “as we know it” anymore and this election is of utmost importance.
He also reminded viewers that progressives will play hardball this election and that complacency through not voting simply isn’t an option if Americans wish to head down the path of the Founding Fathers and not see the destruction of the free market.
This next president will chart that course. “In four years it will be too late to decide.” Beck added that ensuring a decisive, rather than close victory is essential to sending progressives the message that Americans do not wish to discard the Constitution.
Below, Beck explores America’s two options: Communism or the Free Market. He also delves into President Obama’s Communist roots.

Posted on April 24, 2012 at 12:25amGlenn is right on! Vote Romney 2012…..slow progressives down a bit, bc we will never survive as a nation with communist in the mix. It took years for them to get this far, due to our stupidity and we will not stop them in their tracks in this election but years of restoration ahead can save America if we stick together in Love for our country and we continue to stand in our Faith. Make your voices heard this November and continue to pray….that is the only way. I don’t believe Romney is working for the enemy and if we get on the right track we have to remove the one that is. We are being chased down the dead-in road so we need to turn around and take the one to the right, although it may be a much longer and bumpier path we know we are not alone. I am disgusted with Mitt Romney with his connections with MittCare; his links with derivatives; the scandal of the Utah Olympics; his positions on corporate boards of businesses whose practices are repulsive to me with their social and political agenda.
My vote represents my values and my reputation.
We are in pretty bad shape if the reason to vote for Mitt Romney is that he allegedly isn’t Obama. Look what happened last time when stupid people voted for Obama because he isn’t Bush and 4 Years of McCain would be 4 more year of Bush. Really? And, how is Obama different than Bush? The reason, I would suggest, has to do with with the perpetrator being one of the “untouchables” in our society today. The reason? One word. FEMINISM. Men the time is now to back your brothers. This is one arm of progressivism that has no agent without mens help. Men they are after you, your sons, your daughters and your marriage. He has been, so he say’s, against progressives, that progressives are the root of the problem in America, that progressives are on both sides of the aisle that will lead us to either socialism or fascism. Big government is the problem, Glenn has said this on many occasions, but now he says, it is OK to have a progressive Romney, because at least he is not a commie? Give me a break. I used to love ya Glenn, but you are history with me now. Take your progressive and put him where the sun does not shine. I, and many, I mean many, will not vote for Romney, we will vote for a third party, or like Brewster said, none of the above. You, Glenn, are going to go down in history as helping Obama to be re-elected. Our country will fall and we will fight to get it back. Civil War is on the horizon, do not think it isn’t. Maybe that is what you want Glenn? To maybe get a leg to becoming a prophet for the church, maybe? What is your true motivation to change the way you have over the past three years? Romney will not win. Get that through your minds people. It will not happen. Even Soros thinks that Romney and Obama are pretty much the same.

No, it‘ll be foolish people like YOU that’ll end up handing the victory to Barack Obama if they vote for Mitt Romney. Voting for candidates based merely on political affiliation is the reason for the financial and social mess that we’re in now. Mitt Romney and Barack Obama’s policies are one of the same ideology – BOTH of these candidates are shamelessly in favor of BIG GOVERNMENT. Until we start understanding this fact, we will NEVER be able to return to the principles of liberty that once made America the greatest nation on Earth.

Oh, yes, I remember him saying that as well. Glenn Beck used to be the person that I admired quite well, after I watched him on the very first day that appeared on the Fox News Channel. He showed me how the establishment on both sides of the political spectrum have been (and still are) using their power to sidestep the Constitution and subject the masses to their control with their freedom-crushing legislation and their outrageous spending spree. I even read some of his books, including one of his latest books (if not the latest), “Broke.” Nowadays I regret ever having spent time watching his show (and the Fox News Channel in general) after learning not too long ago about how he was among the neo-conservatives that hijacked the Tea Party movement. After having watched many of the GBTV videos showcasing his inconsistency on his principles, I came to the conclusion that Glenn Beck is really nothing more than a mere establishment shill that seems to be only interested in profiteering from the sheer ignorance of his hardcore viewers through the use of fear-mongering and even deceit. It really is sad that so many of the people here still buy into his propaganda.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 9:47pmThis is perilous. FIFTY-SIX percent of Americans still place their trust in police officers?! If this really is true, then I don‘t see how we’ll ever be able to free ourselves from the ever-expanding police state. The police force has already shown their unfriendliness towards our First, Fourth, and Fifth Amendment rights after spending their time unjustifiably invading the homes of innocent Americans, unlawfully confiscating private property, and making unjustifiable arrests of Americans after executing unwarranted, un-Constitutional searches and seizures of their vehicles. This ISN’T to say that all police officers are bad – I’m fully aware that there are many good police officers within the police force. But, then again, even the “good” police officers end up defending the rogue police officers’ indefensible actions in order to protect their pensions that they may never see anytime soon, thanks to the greedy plunderers at Wall Street robbing them blind. Of course, this ISN’T to say that all good officers act as advocates of the bad ones, as I‘m fully aware that there are at least a few police officers that aren’t afraid to expose the wrongdoing of rogue officers.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 10:19pmI don’t see where this is a big surprise. Americans have accepted socialism for over a century. It is just it has mostly been selective socialism. It could be accepted by a majority because it didn’t really effect their personal bottom line. Anyone can be on board with socialism as long as they don’t have to pay for it. How do you think Europe got into the fix it is in? The powers that be didn’t come to the citizenry and say hey we defeated socialism in WW2, how about let’s do the same thing. No. It didn’t happen that way. It was gradually nudged a little here, a little there. We have been nudged as well. It wasn’t as quickly done. Americans have an aversion to being ruled. Europeans are used to it. Many of their countries are still constitutional monarchies. They like the idea of an elite.
One of our first ventures into socialism was post Civil War Reconstruction. The policy was to take from one group and give to another in the name of social fairness and justice. Slavery was terrible and it wasn’t an issue in the northern states so this particular socialism was just fine with a lot of people.
Then there was Woodrow Wilson and FDR. Enough said there. Then LBJ and hammers in the final nails with the CRA and VRA, both clearly socialist agendas. Then Hart-Cellar was passed. The destruction was complete.
I have one query. Why doesn‘t Glenn do a comparison of Marx’s Communist Manifesto and MLK’s Civil Rights Manifesto? Try getting a copy. It has been redacted

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 9:19pmHe’s a progressive big gov guy, but at least he’s not a commie. I am losing my faith in the GOP. The GOP today would be considered liberals in the beginning of our country. This was professed by Ronald Reagan:
“If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals–if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is.” – Ronald Reagan

Posted on April 24, 2012 at 9:50amMitt Romney is the “I can‘t be believe it’s not socialism“ or ”socialism lite” candidate. Glenn obviously accepts the idea there is good and bad socialism. All those that comply then Mitt’s your guy. Well there is the whole deal with who will be the elite in the new United Socialist States of America. In that perspective I guess Mitt looks pretty good.

He rightly says this is a huge problem.
Then he supports Mitt Romney, a guy from the financial industry that created this mess, for President? A guy who wants to pour even more money into the financial sector?

He is just into making money now so that he will not have to suffer the way all of us are when this country crumbles under the weight of economic collapse. I know you guys on here are intelligent, you just need to wake up and smell the coffee, something Glenn and Romney know nothing about (smelling coffee).

WHY didnt one of the public who were standing there gawping ‘jump’ in and save the poor man? If I had been there I would have been in there like a shot and pulled him to safety. I think ALL of us can understand why the firefighters/paramedic didnt go in after being ordered not too as it is the doll office for them and their families if they do and I dont reckon anyone here would pay their bills. BUT : How they must feel knowing that someone is dying and they can do nothing, people become firefighters etc because they want to SAVE lives, not to leave people to die because of stupid policies and laws.

He is not so haughty, that he has ceased to care about the opinions of the general public (from a safe distance, needless to say) Can you tell me of ANY other “journalist” that has gleaned the comments, and pulled pearls of wisdom? and which gem does he choose? the one from the heart perspective. People like you troll American sites arguing for the right to deliver yourselves heart and soul to the government, you fight to have the ethical decision of the individual human being reduced to the point it no longer counts. All that matters to you is the blind movement of the collective, and your lies are self-serving political action shrouded in an obvious desire for a dictator.

I think you overstated the ticket price by a factor of 100. Which tells me that you have lucid moments. I would think a irascible, vindictive person would make up such a lie. It is a 3 day event & only the last day do you need tickets.
What was your point again?
Are you still waiting for your Obama money from his stash?
Wait a minute, Ben Bernanke is still printing it.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 9:47pmDivineprovidence1776, Where do you get that name from? Are you Mormon? I am, and if you really listen to the doctrines you will see that the Mormon Church believes in Manifest Destiny.
“Thy kingdom come”
“Mormons believe the ”kingdom of God” referred to in these passages is none other than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They base this conclusion on several passages in the LDS canon that appear to equate the church with the kingdom of God spoken of by Daniel.
Throughout the Doctrine & Covenants, the LDS church is identified as the kingdom of God — at least in ways potential and conditional, if not literal. (See, for instance, D&C 84:54-59.)
As a result, Mormon culture is immersed in a “manifest destiny” vision of its purpose that centers in spreading the church across the length and breadth of the earth in preparation for the end of the world.” (Stone, S. 2012).
