Charles Barkley Gets Political Again During NBA Broadcast: We‘re Going to Beat Romney ’Like a Drum’

Former NBA star and current NBA analyst Charles Barkley just can’t seem to keep from mixing sports and politics. During a Sunday broadcast on TNT, Barkley took several shots at Mitt Romney after Romney was spotted attending the playoff game Between the Hawks and Celtics. And it isn’t the first time the Weight Watchers spokesman has used his sports TV platform to preach politics.
“We’re going to beat you like a drum in November,” Barkley said when Romney flashed on the screen. “Don’t take it personally. You seem like a nice guy, but you’re going down, bro.”
HuffPo has the video:
This isn’t the first time Barkley has gotten political during a basketball broadcast. In March, during the NCAA tournament, he blasted co-host Greg Anthony, saying that Anthony was a typical Republican who was blaming “everything on the president.” That outburst followed the rather benign suggestion from Anthony that a tournament game might have been delayed for security reasons because Obama was attending.
As HuffPo notes, Barkley was once a Republican but switched to Democrat.

Posted on May 7, 2012 at 8:21amAre the anything this liberal’s can say to get fired from their jobs. Everytime you turn on the T.V one of those people from 30 rock, has a commercial or new show. Barkley has been arrested, said racist remarks, and still getting more jobs than before. Same with Baldwin, remember when actors kept their opinions and their lifestyles to themselves for fear of public outcry.
Report Post »Oldmantex
Posted on May 7, 2012 at 2:20pmThe only reason these actors have the power is that to many of the silent majority watch their crap on TV and movies. I dont get TV anymore because of this. I will watch a series on Zune or something like that but as soon as I see one of the actors start talking about politics, or the show starts promoting gays like in almost all shows now, I stop watching. Just turn it off. If they cant sell advertisement, they cant make shows and cant pay actors.
Report Post »If people would get some conviction and turn off the crap they claim not to support, things would change. As long as Americans continue to support them, they will continue to use that support against us. People need to pickup a book or monitor what they watch and once it goes liberal turn it off. Refuse to support it. We dont have to OWS to make a change, just vote with your pocket book.

Posted on May 7, 2012 at 3:04pmCharles barkley isn’t really a liberal, he just supports obama because he’s black. Yes it’s still moronic, but the motivation is different. It’s not an ideological thing, it’s a racist thing.

Posted on May 7, 2012 at 8:20amIf Barkley picks Obama to win, I‘m putting everything I’ve got on Romney! He never picks winners! Last year he hated on the Mavs all season (too many roll players, not enough true talent) until they had the Heat on the ropes and he finally started giving Nowitski and the bench some tight lipped cudos! If a white man from Bama spoke like Barkley he would be labeled an insignificant hillbilly!

Posted on May 7, 2012 at 8:17amUnfortunately (not really. This country needs a serious lesson) he is right — Romney will lose. The media has chosen Romney because the media knows that Romney will lose against Obama. Americans do not want serious change — they want there safety nets and subsidies as well as the government protecting people from themselves.
It is clear that Barkley is a modern day liberal, and his thought process is as skewed as much as social neo cons, but I am pretty sure America will lose this coming election.

Paul is a danger to the modern day liberals, corporate welfare, crony capitalism, and the modern day progressive GOP. This is indeed a threat to the two party system and the way this country country thinks. Obama, Romney are two of the same. Even if Romney wins, nothing will change.

I’ve read where people will ask the question, “How could he hate whites if he has a white wife,” like Brian Gumbel, and Barry Bonds, who both dislike whites?
Well, the short answer to that is that it isn’t necessary to like a race to want to have sex with their women, especially when they’re own women are so unattractive.
